Great campground with lots of trails and a beautiful pond across the street. The sites are well kept, like most state parks, and you can find some that are secluded. The App Trail runs through the campground, so there's lots of foot traffic. The lean-tos here are better than most I've seen. Most have room enough for tens and maybe a camper for a larger group. If you don't like road noise, avoid the lower loop sites. Rt 100 is right there. This is my go-to local campground and I'm happy to have it in my backyard. Oh, and the showers are super hot. Be careful!

Was able to have 4 nights here in Sept. Was a Sunday walk in, hadn't found anything available in the same time slot when I was searching a month prior. A lot was available. Staff is great, Hemlock lean-to site is very nice, the whole park was. I was on the 'upper loop'. Not a party park, most of the sites can barely see the fires of nearby sites. No power to sites, water is a spigot every few sites. Solar would be tough there due to tree cover, I shifted around a portable solar panel but got very little from it. They had Bear sightings, but all we saw were chipmunks. Lots of elevation changes, but I was able to scoot around on my Ninebot S Max without any issues. My 80 yr old mother loved the place too. I'd definitely stay there again if I end up in that part of the country again.

A nice state park that has the AT go right through it. We had originally reserved a campsite near a couple from MA with a territorial dog they let roam free, so we moved sites. Bathrooms are clean and have showers, and each site has a fire pit and picnic table. It was relatively loud here overnight, as a different couple in a lean-to site above us (looking down on the site we stayed at) arrived late, and shined their headlamps towards our site late

We lived the park. It was quiet when we went. The fall colors were gorgeous and the park was kept clean. The signage is not to clearest, so we got lost on our walk, but that’s not the worst things when you are in nature.

Fall is such a pretty time of the year here! Nice walk along the (closed for the season) road. Access to the Appalachian Trail. Porta potties in the parking lot for winter.

We stay here every time we come to Vermont. Absolutely fabulous forest setting with Appalachian trail running through it.

We stayed for 5 nights at this park while doing some activities around the area. The Good: The park is very nice and clean. The sites are a bit small but not to bad. The bathrooms are probably some of the best campsite bathrooms, very very clean. The Bad: The downside to our trip was some of the park staff. Particularly a guy by the name Dominic. They kept nagging us about different things. They first said we left the camp with our fire going and then realized we had someone on site when they tried to put it out (which was only a small smoke) Then they said we were being to loud (the neighbor actually thanked us for being so quite) they then told us we couldn’t walk through the woods “it’s federal land” he said, then I told him it’s actually state land so he back stepped his comment. Then they proceeded to tell my buddy he needed to pay for the wood when he had already paid for it. The only staff we had dealings with that was nice was the lady at the office. We believe Dominic was trying to push his weight around and think he has power. If it wasn’t for the staff and how we were treated then it would have been a five star

This campsite was super well maintained. The restrooms were very clean, as was the campsite. The fire pit was well made with a nice grill. The trail entrance was right next to our campsite which was great. Great view of the stars in the picnic area.

Yelp
I stayed in the cabin moose and it was absolutely terrific! Very clean and spacious. The ceiling fan kept us cool even during late summer heat. The bathrooms and showers were also very clean (just remember to bring quarters because you do have to pay for showers). There's lovely restaurants and nearby day hikes. 10/10!

Yelp
The review is only for the loop hike around the park. I did not partake in the camping available. I was a bit miffed that the fee was 5 dollars per adult, just to walk the hike. I didn't know how the loop would be so I decided to try it. It honestly wasn't worth it. It's an easy enough hike and relatively well maintained but there are no views and it is just a walk in the woods. The appalachian trail to Thundering brook falls next door is MUCH better and parking is free. 5 bucks isn't a lot of money but there are plenty of trails similar to this one that you can do for free so why waste your time? Also, if you really wanted to you could probably park outside by the Kent Brook Pond parking area and then hike over but it'd be a bit dishonest....

Yelp
Gifford Woods State Park is a great location for hikers (or any visitor to the Killington area for that matter) to bunk for a couple of nights. The park hosts 4 cabins, 22 tent/RV sites, and 21 lean-to sites located around two paved/well-maintained dirt roads on the premises. It appears to be open Memorial Day weekend to late October. It is a breeze to find, easily located just off Route 100. The Appalachian Trail runs right through the park so you may catch a glimpse of some thru-hikers on their journey between Maine and Georgia! The park is very well-maintained! The campsite was neatly raked, the fire pit cleaned out for use. I stayed at campsite #1 and it was quite spacious...a bit further removed from the road than the other campsites. The whole site was marked out with a fine gravel, plenty of room for parking and maneuvering the car. Each road loop contains modern bathrooms and coin-operated hot showers. There are areas for picnicking, volleyball, horseshoes, trash/recycling, and drinking water. Kent Pond is just across the way complete with boat launch and fishing! Booking and check-in were a breeze for this location. I called 10 days before our intended arrival and got a site no problem. On arrival, the ranger at the park office was very friendly and sold us firewood and ice straight from there. If you need any assistance during off-hours, the ranger lives in a cute house attached to the park office. They encouraged us to knock on the door at any time if we needed help. The campsite is pet-friendly and I came across quite a few well-behaved dogs during my stay. Quiet hours are from 10pm-7am. The park itself is pretty quiet all day long... I heard nothing but birds chirping, trees rustling, and a bit less-welcoming: the traffic from Route 100. This didn't bother me so much since I generally wear earplugs to sleep but something to consider if you prefer a more rustic atmosphere when camping. Tent sites are between $20-$22/night, $27-$29 for a lean-to site, and $50 for cabins. There is a 2-night minimum for reservations. Affordable, clean, convenient... I would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
Very nice campground - clean, easy to navigate, and super helpful staff. It's a pretty small campground, and even though it's off a numbered route, it does feel very much in the woods. The Appalachian Trail cuts through the campground and connects to the Long Trail a couple miles from the campground. There are a couple of short trails right around the campground, too, and it's not far from a lot of other trailheads in the Green Mountains. The park office sells firewood, ice, frozen treats, and cold drinks. They do have bears since the campground is on the edge of a pretty big patch of forested land, which was new for us, but the park staff knew what to do to shoo them away. The markets we stopped at near the campground were pretty expensive. I'd suggest finding a larger supermarket on the way there to do most of the food shopping.

Yelp
Great park with nice trails and a very nice campground. It sits in an old growth forest that has never been logged. The staff are very nice and attentive and take serious pride in their work and their park. They even take the gravel on the driveways when they clean up. They pay such close attention that they show up to clean a site about three minutes after its vacated. There is a volunteer on site in the campground and the park manager stays on site as well. They have ice available, wood of course, and even offer cheap rates for AT through hikers. The bathrooms are clean and often sport flowers. The showers are clean, hot, and reasonably priced. I would definitely camp here again.

Yelp
Just checked out this State Park and found that there are many spots to rent and camp within the woods. From there you can venture on to various forest trails. I did not stay here and am only commenting on what it looked like driving around the camping sites.

Yelp
This is a wonderful little campground. Clean showers and restrooms. Sites are well taken care of. We come and stay at least once a year and do some day hiking. Awesome. Know before you sign up that there is no power or water on the site.

Yelp
Neat campground with small shelters, that we utilized for camping. Very clean restrooms and showers are a bonus! The hot water cost $.50 per 5 minutes. Fire pits and tables at each site. The sites are private and secluded from each other, so there is plenty privacy. The one and only CON is the loud route 100 nearby. Definitely 5 stars, one of the coolest camgrounds that I've experienced. Paid $27/night, thats a site with lean-on. The simple campsites are cheaper.
