Hidden in plain sight: Lombok's small islands are a concealed gem - SilverKris
"A small islet reached by a short boat ride, surrounded by coral reefs and a wreath of bone-white sand, offering easy snorkel stops and quick access from nearby islands." - Tommy Schultz
Gili Nanggu is a serene island with crystal-clear waters, white sandy beaches, and vibrant marine life. Perfect for snorkeling, relaxing, and escaping the crowds. A hidden paradise in Lombok that offers peace and natural beauty.

Gili Nanggu is one of the most fantastic islands I ever been. Unfortunately, you find allot of garbage on the beach (even you have to pay 5.000 IDR per person to a dubious person who was saying that he cleans the island everyday)... This is a typical problem in Indonesia. If this wouldn't be the case I would give this island 5 from 5 stars. The beach where the most people stay is during the daytime a little crowded but clean and still a great experiance.
The snorkeling was one of my best snorkel experiance. You can see hundreds of colourful fishes of all kind.
The corals are also still very beautiful and colourful. The also try to farm them on the ground.
It was a great day on Gili Nanggu... even a little rusty metal stick was penetrated my big toe when we walked on the backside of the island...

The island is small and not very clean. However, the main reason for visiting is for snorkeling.
You can snorkel from two sides of the island. Some of the coral is dead unfortunately but there are plenty of fish. The sea is gentle and there aren't any waves to buffet you around.
It takes about 15 minutes by boat to reach the island from the mainland.

Amazing snorkeling with nice beaches. So many different types of tropical fish that will swim right with you. A beautiful coral reef restoration project going on there that is really helping maintain/bring back wildlife there.

the best of the small gilis. plenty of places to lay out or Grab some shade. pretty good snorkeling about 15 meters out to the right of the main beach area. can’t miss it; there r underground sesak temple Replicas working as structure. work your way left and a drop off is there which hosted a school of literally thousands of fish when I was there. there’s a lodge there too and camping available.

Beach full of trash of all sort, you enter the water swimming among floating plastic. Some beautiful corals but visibility not so good probably because of tide and storm

It's very fun to snorkel here. Although not as busy as on Gili Trawangan, the water is quite clear and calm. Suitable for beginners
Watch out for the sharp corals and passing boats!
