Gilmer Apartment Hotel Wellington

Great value, perfect location, and genuinely kind staff I stayed at the Gilmer Apartment Hotel in December and overall had a really good experience. The room was clean—spotless linen, tidy space—though there was a small blood stain on the wall near the toilet roll and the bathroom vent needed attention. A couple of replacement towels were also missing, but nothing that ruined the stay. The bed was comfortable. Being summer, the room ran a bit warm, but the fan made it completely manageable. The Wi-Fi was excellent (around 200 Mbps up and down), and having ethernet in the room was a big plus. Staff were great. They helped me with printing, and even sorted things out when I accidentally left my meds behind. The only hiccup was housekeeping knocking at 10:15am despite an agreed 11am checkout, but honestly, not a major issue. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Wellington but still incredibly quiet. Overall, a solid hotel at a genuinely good price. I’ll happily stay here again next time I’m in town for work.

Anyone who travels a lot will appreciate the little extras these rooms have to offer. A lovely selection of teas and hot chocolate, separate makeup flannels, laundry powder provided with the washer, a drying rack (and drying function on the wm), there was even ice in my ice try in the freezer when I was hoping for it! Rooms clean, bed comfy, highly recommend.

Room was spotless & had the added bonus of a washing machine with built in dryer. Really appreciated i couldn't hear other guests when in my unit & the staff were very helpful. Would have been nice to have had plain tea bags & also powerpoints on either side of the bed to charge a cellphone. All in all,great value for money.

The location is so convenient to downtown Wellington. Walking distance to the cable car, docks, restaurants, museums, parks and churches. We stayed first for a few days, then traveled around NZ for a week. The hotel kept a bag for us, and had it in our room when we returned for our second stay. The staff were happy to help out with little requests such as a sewing kit or extra supplies. We would highly recommend it and would gladly stay again.

Great for a wellington city stay, we've stayed here a couple of times now and love the room and the location. Rooms are well equiped, including washer/dryer, beds are pretty comfy, couches are a little hard though. No view, but can highly recommend for a wellington stay.

An excellent option when looking for comfort and quality without an exorbitant price. Location is perfect, particular if wanting to be centrally located within the city as we did. All staff were very helpful and the extensive features offered in our apartment allowed us to enjoy our stay. Accordingly we thank Steffen and his staff very much and look forward to the opportunity for a return visit.

Stayed 3 nights. Very clean rooms. Quiet. Good parking (extra cost but directly outside). 5 min walk to the city. An excellent cafe near by, very reasonable and great food and coffee - Mamba Cafe, access via Plimmer steps. We would stay again. Doesn’t have aircon but super fans. No problem.

Super handy location, with easy access parking available. Great value for money. Everything you need is here including unlimited wifi. Stefan, Niomi and Asabella were all super helpful and friendly at reception. Will definitely be back.
