This is a hotel that was built in 1927. It doesn’t have an elevator, but it only has three floors. The staff at the desk could not do enough to make sure that I was happy. When I was leaving, I mentioned that I need to get some salmon jerky for my son. One of the Hotel staff people told me to wait a minute and appeared with a couple of packages of salmon jerky and she gave them to me as a gift. There is always fresh coffee in the mezzanine. A little downside is that the rooms are kind of small but comfortable And the lack of an elevator might be a problem for some people. I walk with a cane or a walker and it didn’t seem to bother me that much. The location is directly across the street from where the cruise ships come in and, if you have a room with the view, it is a fantastic view! I can’t say enough good things about the people there.

The staff at Gilmore worked to help me re-coup a reservation made for the previous evening and swiftly got me into a room while honoring the third-party booking. They turned what could have been a long evening into a relaxing & accomdating experience. The waterview room was lovely and I would highly recommend when in Ketchikan.

We spent 2 nights in Ketchikan at this historic hotel. Features were in keeping with the hotel. There is a free taxi service you can get to and from the hotel. We used it on the way back to the airport at the end of our stay but we decided to take advantage of the nice weather and walk from the airport to the hotel with our hand luggage. It took just under an hour and our 7yo and 9yo daughters loved it. Hotel room was spacious but the bathroom was on the small side. The door lock didn't work on our door and we told reception. The hotel is in such a great central location

Google
Positive: We had a medical emergency & exited our cruise with a family member. The staff at the Gilmore were above & beyond. My husband & I were exhausted, & they prepared a room for us early, got us in before check in time. Love the boutique feel of this hotel. Negative: ""

I was very impressed with The Gilmore Hotel in Ketchikan. It was comfortable, clean, and extremely convenient. The historical photos and information was a bonus and the complimentary tea/coffee in the sittIng area made for a nice social opportunity with other visitors.

Google
The Gilmore is an old hotel with character. The rooms have been remodeled and are clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean and functional. Be prepared for some noise because the location is near the cruise ships. We slept with the windows open and the fan on which kept the room comfortable, the weather was in the 60s during the day and 50s at night, if the weather is warmer the room might be too toasty. Transportation from the Alaskan Ferry and to the airport was covered by the hotel (not ferry to airport). The folks at the front desk were very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful historic hotel updated for modern comfort! Staff is friendly and accomadating and there are complimentary shuttle rides to and from the ferry to the airport. Within walking distance to most every tourist spot in Ketchikan, ideal location to stay and get around with ease and comfort. Complimentary water and hot drinks like tea, coffee, and hot cocoa packets. Very interesting to explore and learn about the hotels history! Carpets need serious tcl, either updating completely or at least a good shampoo. My rooms bathroom door did not close well, which wasn't an inconvenience for me by myself but something to note. There is no AC in the rooms, but a box fan against the window kept it cool as I like to sleep in cold. The shower is small, I didn't mind that but the curtain kept blowing in and touching me as I bathed so I had to keep it open for comfort. Everything is kept very clean amd organized. Well worth a stay!

Google
I felt like I went back in time. Great rooms and great staff. The cruise ships make some noise at night but close your windows and that mutes all the noise. Close to all the shops and restaurants. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Pros: Great location in downtown Ketchikan Part of Wyndham Clean and comfortable room Cons: Beverage area on 2nd floor was constantly out of stuff - e.g. cold water, hot water No elevator Spotty front desk service Our room had a view of a brick wall - the other side is better I hear Sink is next to the bed which was funny There was a ladder outside our door leading up to a mysterious hole in the wall Pro tip: An affordable hotel within walking distance to most things downtown. If you can get past the oddities, it is a totally fine place for a short-term stay

Yelp
Perfect for what we needed. After 6 days fishing, we needed a hotel stopover to store our fish boxes, hold our bags until it was time to check in, and have place to sleep. Great location to go walk around and then hit the bars. Very old hotel and very old feel. Got to Ketchikan about noon-ish, so they held all of our bags. On the weekend, you don't need to move your car every 2 hours so we kept our nice spot right in front. The workers weren't overly friendly, but they were definitely nice and helpful. Our room was good enough. Hubs and I were cramped but fit 2 suitcases and our carry ons also. The guys had a room twice the size as ours with 2 queens. Best part... ice chest had bags of ice so you know people aren't breathing on and touching the community ice. There was also a constant supply of tea and coffee. If you're looking for luxury, you're looking in the wrong place.

Yelp
Nice experience staying here at Gilmore, clean and perfect service super recommended!!

Heather C.

Yelp
Stayed at the Gilmore again last night...this was my 2nd stay. This little hotel is delightful! It is clean, charming, the the folks that works there are very nice! I was in room 308, an ocean view. I'll be back!

Michelle A.

Yelp
I'll give it two stars.. but this place was a disaster. To begin the girl working at the front desk was so rude and short. It took almost 30 minutes to check us in, which is a little ridiculous. Then they had half the building shut down because of water damage. This meant my party of 6 with 3 rooms had to be separated all across the building although there was maybe one or two other parties there. The biggest complaint though was the actual condition of the room. The sink looked as if it was about to fall off of the wall. The shower was also disgusting and all of us in the room agreed none of us felt comfortable getting into a shower that looked like that. You know maybe I would expect this from a cheaper hotel, but this hotel was at 150 a night. We ended up leaving early and staying at the Super 8 down the road for almost half the price and it was in WAY better condition and had a lot better service.

Nicole M.

Yelp
Staff is really great. Location and hotel is not. Tiny rooms. Thin walls- as in you can hear the TV in next room. Barely waking room around beds. Lots of stairs. Clean but old. Located right over the main and Street in Ketchikan. Loud day and night. Drunks and trucks.

April E.

Yelp
Really appreciated the fact that they were willing to put in a last minute order of food for us with the restaurant next door! We arrived on the last flight and were pleased by the cab pick up as soon as we got off the ferry boat. It was a quick drive to the hotel and were checked in promptly. The staff have been absolutely wonderful and helpful with our stay allowing for a late check out so we didn't have to carry our bags around. We would absolutely recommend this place if you're looking for a nice location that's close to shops and restaurants.

Janna N.

Yelp
Located in the hub of Ketchikan, it's an old building loaded with charm. Provide free Starbucks coffee 24/7. The staff is extremely helpful and the bar and restaurant downstairs are a treat too. Free complimentary cab to and from the ferry, just request in advance. I will stay there on my next trip to Ketchikan.

KAB C.

Yelp
I'll break this down into a few categories to help explain the 3 star review. It wasn't an unpleasant stay, save for the restless night but when we return the Ketchikan, we'll try for different accommodations. Hotel - A quaint, historic and neat little hotel with a convenient location. If you appreciate history and want to avoid the commercial chains, this is not a bad choice. Staff - friendly, helpful and a little quirky. The front desk kid offered up his own box fan from the front desk to use in our room if needed. Check-in was easy and straight forward and he jumped up to carry out bags up the stairs. Room - The room itself was pretty clean but also very tight. Bed was firm but pillows were wafer thin so not very supportive. Our room overlooked the main thoroughfare in town and had a nice view of the bay. Unfortunately there was no ventilation and the room was quite warm so we had to leave the windows open the entire time. Being next to a busy street and above a bar didn't make for a restful evening. Additional - there's no elevator so elderly or disabled folks be aware. Also, loading/unloading can be done right in front but parking is across the street and includes a flight of stairs.

Nique F.

Yelp
A-Ok, barely. It was *painful* to spend $170/night on a hotel room that should really cost no more than $120 in any other city. But since the Gilmore is located in the heart Ketchikan, right where the cruise ships drop off, the prices are jacked up while the rooms remain in need of some TLC. Perks are: fun historic restaurant downstairs & free taxi service to and from the airport ferry (yes, you have to take a ferry to the airport - how crazy is that?) Also, free wifi. Staff was REALLY friendly and helpful, so at least we had service with a smile for the price. If you just need a place to crash, the Gilmore is fine, but the rooms are not very cheery and the amenities are sparse. Basically, it does the job for a night.

Robin S.

Yelp
I am pretty sure the place is haunted. I heard some tapping on my door in the middle of the night but it wasn't a knocking, it was a weird, light tapping....But it was a good vibe. Not a bad vibe at all. You can tell by the layout this was a red light house "in the day". The place is old and smelly but reasonably clean. The bathroom was updated and the fixtures are updated. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom was spotless - the carpet in the rooms needed to be cleaned as it meets the wall - some dust had gathered there. I had a room with a view of the cruise ships (water) but at night it was loud as the main street was right below my window and local kids cruised back and forth. It was warm so I had the windows open. Thankfully by midnight I was so exhausted I fell asleep anyways. Things did quiet down. I liked the place. I have lower standards since I live in Alaska...I mean that seriously. But I do like good service and the ladies at the front desk were AWESOME. They carried my heavy suitcase up the stairs for me (no elevator), they let me check out LATE because I was stuck in court for a hearing until noon (down state on business) and one that wasn't even working came racing up the stairs to carry my suitcase down for me without even being asked. And they stored my suitcase while I wandered around town killing time before my 5 pm flight. The brunch was good - basic but good - yogurt cups, milk, coffee, cream, bagels and homemade bread for toasting, peanut butter, jelly, butter, cereals...fresh fruit. I fixed a plate and took it to my room and nobody stopped me. I have stayed at the Landings Best Western before. It was "nicer" and newer but there was no real "service". I would come back to this place before I'd go back to Landings on service alone. And the bed WAS comfortable...Plus Anabelle's the bar below the hotel, has really good food. (And I was on the second floor and did not hear the bar nor did I hear anyone next to me...for the record.) Oh...and this place was $40 cheaper per night...and one block away from the courthouse. After reading other reviews I have to say this place was pretty cool. If you are expecting more - like a boutique hotel in Seattle - you probably aren't going to like your stay in Alaska much at ANY place...this is an OLD place...I mean they still use KEYS and not plastic card keys, ok? (Oh, and there are flat screen tv's in the rooms now so I am pretty sure they read their YELP reviews, that and nobody had to carry their own luggage upstairs, at least I didn't...).

David A.

Yelp
This is a nice place. I also believe it is one of the cheapest hotels in town. This isn't Holiday Inn Express or Hampton. It is kind of like staying in a big, old house. Beware that there is no elevator. But Jonathan at the front desk, helped me carry my bags all the way up to my room. Nice. Amanda helped me out the following day and was very nice. There is a restaurant bar downstairs. It is in a great spot in town, directly across from a cruise ship dock. I recommend it.

Valerie L.

Yelp
We had a great stay here. No problems. Great location. Nice clean rooms. Free coffee and tea. Annabelle's restaurant downstairs is the best in town. This place is real classy but not super overpriced like mostly everything in Ketchikan.

Vanessa S.

Yelp
Haunted? This review is long overdue. I stayed in this hotel about 8 years ago for a fishing trip, and at the time was still a teen. Everyone was very friendly and it's a go to if you Iove something more old fashioned. I read some reviews about some renovations so this might not count now. Anyways reason being I'm writing this review now is because I wanted to see if anyone else had experienced any paranormal stuff here. When I stayed here I felt overwhelmingly uncomfortable and always felt like I was being watched. The first night and only night there I kept hearing whispers in my hear. Of course as a kid I rubbed my ear and went under the covers in fear until I fell asleep. I never told my parents until about a year later since it's an experience I won't ever forget. I hope to return there in the near future.

Jay W.

Yelp
The Gilmore Hotel's location is the biggest asset. It's right in the center of town. It's an older historical hotel with a lot of charm and obvious a lot of renovation is in the process. However, the hotel is not handicap accessible and I don't remember seeing where that was mentioned on the website. Without an elevator, all that's left is climbing all those steps with bags. It also meant climbing down the steps for morning coffee. It's been a long time since we've been in a hotel room without a coffee pot. You couldn't just turn the faucet on in the bathroom because if you let go of the knob, the water stopped. The heater didn't work but TV had cable news and good reception. The room was small but clean so that was fine. Wi-Fi was nice. The window wall had big patches in it and paint was peeling off the pipes. The website indicates there is a continental breakfast in the morning and cookies at other times. There were no cookies and there was no continental breakfast. That took my rating down one star. I felt they should have had donuts or something if they advertised it. Full payment was required when I made the reservation. I found that unusual. The hotel offers a shuttle to/from the airport and ferry system. This reminded us of hotels we had stayed at in Europe. I would probably stay again but my husband would not. Staff was fine.

Emily S.

Yelp
Amazing stay at the Gilmore, staff was so friendly and always very helpful; refilling the coffee station or calling a cab for the airport! Room was immaculate every day and very comfy beds. Would definitely stay here again! Thanks for making my 3 days in Ketchikan so nice!

Monica D.

Yelp
Great location that is super close to the movie theater, the docks, and many great restaurants and shops. All the staff were super accommodating and answered all of my many questions. Very clean room and great amenities.

Anon C.

Yelp
Bathrooms were gross. No dresser or closet to put your clothes. Carpet had staples sticking out of it! Outrageous! I'm concerned and wouldn't recommend to anyone! I got a standard room and it was just the worst! I'm still shaken up about this hotel room. The staff some of them were so nicee and some of them were just plain rude and unpleasant. They are slowly renovating rooms and I hope for the best on this hotel.

Seth G.

Yelp
Great hotel. Super clean. I lived that it was a older hotel. The rooms are small but nice. Located in the perfect part of town. Near shopping and other activities. Andrew at the front desk was very friendly and super helpful.

Don W.

Yelp
Old school hotel that's steeped in historic western feel. I am sure there are more opulent places in Ketchikan, but we wanted to stay in a piece of Alaskan history. The rooms were recently renovated, comfortable and convenient to all the local sights. I recommend the harbor view, although in the summer you will be viewing a wall of cruise ships! It was Exactly as advertised and staff was friendly and informative. Good spot!

Ron C.

Yelp
A great location, right downtown. You can walk to everything. My room was spotless and I think it must have been refurbished fairly recently. Bed was nice and comfy. And it did not cost a fortune. My room, however, stared directly into the wall of the building on the side of the hotel, with maybe 4 feet of separation. But that was not a big deal since I was there to be outside, not sit in my room. Just something to be aware of. Maybe you can reserve rooms with a view for a higher rate? My only real negative was with the front desk staff, which did not seem too friendly. The biggest issue was that I checked out early, around 10AM (normal checkout noon), and I asked them to hold my bags until around 1:30. They lady at the desk said to leave my bags by the baggage cage and she would lock them up. Well, I came back at 1:30 and my bags were laying there just were I left them. I am sure she kept an eye on them, but would have felt much better is she had locked up my laptop, clothing, etc. as she had said she would do. My trip would have been a total disaster if I had lost those.

Samantha G.

Yelp
Tiniest room ever. If you stay here, I would suggest not getting an interior room. Besides being super tiny, I was woken up by the staff doing laundry as my room was right behind the laundry room. Not to mention the loud ice machine and hearing the convos of everyone getting ice all night long. And then there was the one, tiny, cracked window that overlooked nothing and led out onto a nice ledge that ran the length of the interior rooms - and was unlocked. So not creepy at all. It'll do just fine if you are only looking for a place to sleep. And the location is certainly convenient. I was easily able to walk everywhere. The staff was ho-hum, not exactly particularly friendly and polite. At least they have cable and the wifi is free. And the attached restaurant it ok. If the room was cheaper, I'd probably be much happier. But for the price, it's hard to justify what you get. It was definitely the shabbiest room I've ever stayed in.

Vicki R.

Yelp
I'm being generous with one star because of the great location and the free cab to the airport (and because Yelp won't let me go lower). Standard queen room was tiny. Our room was right next to the maid's laundry room, so it was loud early in the morning with both the machines and the maids gossiping. Stayed here four nights and politely asked if we could switch rooms because of the noise, staff was very rude and said they were totally booked. Was never greeted with a smile at the desk, honestly some of the rudest staff I've encountered at a hotel. During check-in it seemed like we were bothering the staff, taking her away from being on her phone. I left a poor review on another site and the owner responded, but there was no follow up when I asked what could be done to remedy this. Every other hotel was booked for the holiday weekend otherwise we would've switched right away. Would love to return to Ketchikan, but never to The Gilmore Hotel.

Marvin B.

Yelp
I stayed here a couple years ago on a port call with my ship. I really think this hotel was nice and cozy. The rooms were nice and warm despite the frigid cold outside, the beds are very comfortable for a hotel as old as The Gilmore. The TVs were not high tech flat screen as you see in most ritzy places but when you go to this small little town which is a popular destination for cruise ship passengers during a port call on Alaskan cruises, you can't help but feel like you are welcome everyplace you go. The staff treats you like family and the free breakfast is well thought out and laid out beautifully. Las Vegas hotels are much more luxurious, but The Gilmore hotel is a regular hotel and just feels like home, much better than luxury. I just spent my evening relaxing in my nice cozy bed with a hot bowl of soup watching the local programming and watching the snow fall outside. A welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff, I would stay here again and again.

Stephanie N.

Yelp
"Under construction" is greatly understated. Old carpet, buckets, junk out in the open for you to stumble over. We reserved a room with a king bed and instead got a twin bed in a room barely big enough for a side table with the bed that looked like it would bust if we sat on it. The door wouldn't lock or close securely. We didn't bother looking in the bathroom. The 1 star is for the friendly front desk employee who had no problem fully refunding my deposit and not charging us when we quickly decided to try another hotel.

Sarah A.

Yelp
We had a great time at the Gilmore. My three children and I stayed on the third floor in the back of the hotel. The room was quiet, the beds comfy, and the size perfect. The staff gave us incredible suggestions (and off the beaten path) places to eat. We also enjoyed Annabelle's for its food and ambience. The hotel has a great location, too. Thanks for the awesome visit!

James Q.

Yelp
It's an old hotel without any of the charms. It smells, the walls are paper thin, the rooms are small, and there's very few amendities. The housekeeping takes forever and the continental breakfast consists of cereal, fruit cocktail, and donuts. It seems like a great location being right on the main strip, but it's loud and each morning you're greated by a view of mamoth obnoxious cruise ships

Annie D.

Yelp
Pros - Location. It is right in downtown so it is super easy to get to everything - Ferry shuttle. The hotel helps provide transportation to the airport ferry when you land and when you head back. Super helpful! - Cable TV in the rooms and wireless internet Cons - Walls are super thin. I'm a heavy sleeper and I was woken up by the girls in the room nextdoor around 1am when I assume they came home from the bars. I could hear their entire conversations clear as day through the wall. - Loud plumbing. Not only is our toilet the loudest toilet I've heard, but we can hear the toilets and sinks from other rooms in use as well. - Very early housekeeping. The first morning we were here, housekeeping knocked at our door at 9am. This might be a pro for some people, but we weren't even out of bed yet. This hotel is old, it's shows in the walls and the floors, but it sufficed. If I came back, I might stay here again, but I would definitely weigh out the cost/benefit of staying at other locations first.

Meredith S.

Yelp
No elevator, lots of stairs, and no bell staff to carry bags up and down for you. If you can't perform this task, I wouldn't stay here. The mattress was old and the bedspread dates back to the time when the USA made the first moon landing. The carpeting is old and had not been swept. The location is good for walking around and catching the bus. The breakfast was okay, nothing exciting. I did enjoy the clam chowder in Annabelles. Fortunately, Sweet Mermaids is a coffee shop a few doors to the north. They offer free internet access on the landing for all the guests to share. If you take a room on the waterfront side the view is nice when the ships are gone. However, if you open the window it will be very noisey all night with cars racing pass and sirens. Take a white noise machine with you to block it out, if sleep is important to you.

G S.

Yelp
Not 'quaint', but dumpy. No Wi-Fi in rooms as advertised. Poorly managed. Was lied to by the Manager numerous times about the Wi-Fi and other issues. It is a simple resolution, I will NEVER stay there again.

Steve E.

Yelp
The good news is the room was warm and the sheets clean. The location is good. If you merely want a place to sleep overnight this is ok. If you want a tv that works, lights that don't need you to unplug one lamp to replace with another, don't want your feet to stick to the dirty carpet and don't mind paint peeling off the ceiling, this is great. I will stay elsewhere next time.

Ken M.

Yelp
Would not recommend this place! Small smelly room, poor customer service, inoperable toilet paper dispenser and continental breakfast was a joke! Made us dream of the good old days at Motel 6!

Cami M.

Yelp
I had a fantastic experience, Debra upgraded us to a lovely room with a view of the water and cruise ships coming in and out. She let us check in early and for someone to carry our bags and even brought up a heater for us sissy SoCal girls. The food in the restaurant was delicious though service was slow. Coffee, water and tea available at all times was nice. Everyone was friendly.

Cathi M.

Yelp
This is a hotel with a great location in the middle of downtown Ketchikan. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The room was small but clean and well maintained. The queen bed was very comfortable. Complimentary coffee and tea was always available on the mezzanine level. The only reason for one star less than perfect is the cramped lobby and stairs as the only means to access the rooms.

Tristan R.

Yelp
Out of the list of hotels given, the Gilmore seemed like it would be a good hotel at a less outrageous price. The location was close to all of the touristy shops and away from where the locals dwell. The lobby was small and simple; the room had the essentials and was clean. My room came with a small flat-screen television, a bathroom (the sink was not in the bathroom but in the room itself), and a desk. They have a computer for internet surfing (I wanted minimal exposure to electronics while on vacation but e-mail checking is a nasty habit I have). The continental breakfast is served in Anabelle's and consists of cereals, juice, milk (no fat free!?), donuts, bread, english muffins, and jam. The price was still a little steep but I appreciate that there are still local hotels around. I still think further renovation to improve the charm (like the Montvale in Spokane) would make it a really neat place to stay. There is potential to make this even better!

B H.

Yelp
The hotel is old, and dated but we knew that going in. We had a room overlooking the dock. The people that work there are really nice and helpful. It's expensive for what you get, but I think that's typical for AK. I would stay here again.

Josh A.

Yelp
I've stayed at The Gilmore for a total of 21 days on two different occasions in 2016. I can honestly say that for the money, it's tough to beat. I paid $119 per night at the end of May and $129 per night at the end of July. And if you've ever stayed at The Alaskan in Juneau, then I can also tell you The Gilmore is slightly a step up. Still, a bit noisy and no elevator, however, the bathrooms and shower are actually in the room you're paying for. Room service is available from Annabelles, the attached restaurant. Also the local pizza place and Burger Queen will deliver to your room. So, I'd have to say it's a convenient location. By the way, if you want a good burger then forget Annabelles and go with Burger Queen. Twice Annabelles brought me a rock hard, over-cooked and flavorless burger even after I requested they cook it on the medium-rare side of medium. Apparently, the State of Alaska won't allow burger joints to serve anything less than medium? And Annabelles only cooks their burgers to well done -- terrible. Burger Queen on the other hand will cook your burger to a juicy and flavorful medium every time. Delivery took 45 minutes but it's well worth the wait! Finally, If you need a shuttle from the airport then call the front desk just before you hop on the ferry. They'll have someone from Sourdough Taxi (most likely) pick you up. Sourdough taxis are white with red lettering.

Yelp
Like many guests of this hotel I am not satisfied. We got room number 322 near a laundry on the 3d floor. I do acknowledge that the room is clean and pretty quiet, there is a cosy space between the 1st and 2nd floors with a table and armchairs where you can get coffee and cookies. Also there is an outdated computer and a printer. Stuff looks friendly (but not very helpful though). But this is a frontier where your satisfaction ends. An Internet bandwidth is almost dead. A Breakfast leaves you with a slight feeling of melancholy. Watch your head not to bump into a TV-set or a malicious bathroom shelf! A window doesn't lock. There is a spectacular view from the window to a backyard. Brick romance. The room is also decorated with ugly pipes. I bet you wouldn't find where to plug in a bed-side lamp. We took a car for rent at the airport. We had read on the web that there is a free parking at the hotel. A lady at the front desk explained that for an indistinct reason she couldn't give us a parking pass. Also she told us to park across the street at a public parking lot, and "no worries, the police doesn't work on weekend". We never got a parking pass. Each member of the stuff showed extraordinary inventiveness to explain why we couldn't get it. And last but not least. Do not rush the sink. Water will go away in 5 or 7 minutes. Buy toilet paper. You will need it. All these pleasures are pricy by the way.

Mary M.

Yelp
Ok, this is an old hotel and it pretty much smells that way. There is no elevator, so if you can't carry your suitcase up the stairs then choose something else. There is an attached restaurant, but the food is nothing special. (You do get a complimentary breakfast in the morning, but don't try the orange juice. The man at the bar who was running the breakfast said - oh yes, here's some juice and the stuff that came out of the machine was brown and nasty - he actually thought that I'd drink it? Gross.) Regarding the room, it was small - which is no big deal. A major problem is the heating system. There is a pounding of the heating pipes until 10pm. They shut off the heat at that time. Because the pipes are so old this pounding (as if I was taking a hammer and hitting a pipe in my room every 6-7 minutes) kills any thought of going to bed earlier. The sink is in the bedroom, not in the bathroom and there is only shampoo and soap - no conditioner. The bathtub was one of those old ones that holds the heat really well and is nice and deep. The bed was fine - nothing special, but comfortable. It was the pounding of the heating pipes that drove me crazy. Oh and the parking - there is no parking lot, but you can park across the busy street on the dock from 4pm-10am or on the street. It's a pain to have to park and then drag your suitcase across the dock, across the busy street - up the stairs to the room with the pounding pipes. Try something else.
