It was our first time to try this place. Food, service and atmosphere are excellent! The flavors just hit the spot. They even gave us a slice of cake for our birthdays. Perfect place to get together with friends and family. The hand wash soap in the toilet smelled so nice!

The cozy and romantic ambience is truly charming. I recommend it for dates and girls' night out. The staff was professional and friendly, which made the experience even better. The food was decent—while it might not have a "wow" level of creativity, I think it’s fair since they define themselves as a brasserie, and they really excel in that category. I recommend the beef tongue entrée and the pappardelle pasta in bisque sauce.

My first ever meal in New Zealand, more of just a snack really, but very satisfying! Gilt is light, bright, and airy. We found the staff to be crisp, friendly, and attentive. And the food, from a seasonal menu, was super fresh, well presented, and delicious. Perhaps a tiny bit expensive, but with great value. We will definitely be going back.

Good ambience. The young lady who served us was lovely and took time explaining the dishes. Highlight for us was the king crab pasta which was by far the best pasta I have had. The kingfish crudo was super fresh and the tangy capers dressing went very well with the fish. Roasted pork belly with clam was a cool idea. I have never thought clam can go so well with pork. If I have to neat pick the only suggestion is to make the skin of the pork belly more crispy. We have enjoyed the meal very much.

Our entree was excellent, however our mains did not meet our expectations. If we rank Gilt as one of Auckland's best restaurants, we anticipate delicate and exquisite cuisine. I would like to try the lunch menu next time.
The atmosphere was fantastic.

Very nice atmosphere for a dinner right in the CBD. Service was attentive. They're the second place who's done a proper tasty Aperol Spritz amongst all the Auckland restaurants I've been to.
Crab pasta leans on the smaller portion size but packed with flavours so couldn't fault that. Baked Alaska is interesting but personally not my taste. However I want to applaud for their unique dessert menu (and main menu for that matter), it's not just the usual suspects you see in other restaurants.
Overall it's somewhere I'd recommend if you're looking for a good drink and have something to eat which doesn't require you to go all the way to Ponsonby/K Road.
ps. love a restaurant who actually makes the bathroom part of the experience as well

This was a celebration of both my sons, one turning 30 the other graduating. I was super excited to dine here. I was the one to suggest this restaurant to my husband. The moment we sat down everything went like a fine tune machine, until unfortunately we had to wait an extremely long time for our mains, however, this was actually realized by the staff and before we questioned what had happened, two staff came with bread and apologize - honesty is the best kind of service ! Mistakes happened and your staff dealt with it in the most professional way. I will recommend my friends to dine here and I will definitely come again.

Heard a lot of good things about this place which led me to try it. I found my experience to be a tad underwhelming. Flavour was good for the dishes we ordered. However for the price, the portions are small and you can find better value at other places around Auckland. Decent restaurant fit out, minus one star because our cutlery wasn’t fully clean and my cocktail glass was sticky with syrup all over. Nice to visit but not sure if I’d go again for the price you pay.
