Gilt Cocktail Bar

I’ve never been more conflicted about writing a review. Not because Gilt doesn’t deserve raving reviews and praise for great personalized service, an intimate relaxed environment, great cocktails and the friendliest staff. But because I want to keep this pearl of a place to myself. The cocktails are great and well balanced, with something for everyone’s taste. The room is cozy, posh, intimate and welcoming at the same time. And the staff is just the cherry on top, with a big shout-out going out to Laura, giving a warm and personable service each time I’ve gone. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Great place for having cocktail. The menu is not extensive but the drinks are very well mixed and there is something for any kind of taste. Only exception are virgin cocktails, my wife once ordered a non alcohol cocktail, which at the end was just an overpriced juice (so stick to the real thing...). Staff is also happy to give some advise and is always very friendly. The bar itself is cosy and relaxed. Great place to meet some friends and unwind.

When I've gone there I've often been served various samples of what the experienced cocktail waiters were making. The attention to detail seems almost over the top, and the place itself feels like you've entered a mix between a luxury cabin in the woods and a designer hotel. The place shines especially in the early hours before it gets crowded. You can have the place almost to yourself from 6 to 7pm. - the menu seems daunting and filled to the brim with exotic combinations. The cocktail waiters are experienced enough to fulfill "Just make something sweet" and "I like this spirit, can you make something with that?" requests. Also a good place to go on a date.

Super neat, skillful bartenders, serving artsy drinks for fair price. Entertaining to observe the drinks in the making. Prices just around 100 kr. Also, they made an alcohol free drink for my pregnant girlfriend 😊

Fantastic cocktails and a fair price after all. A close resemblance is with the bar, The Barking Dog, but here at Gilt the atmosphere is more relaxed and chilled. I like that, also that the bar is hidden from the outside.

I've had outstanding service here in a very cosy environment. Unfortunately they increased the prices recently. Until then, it was perhaps the best cocktail bar in Copenhagen.

Institution on Copenhagen's bar scene. Very cozy environment combined with well thought through drinks menu and true professionals behind the bar. If you haven't been you are missing out.

Best cocktails I have ever gotten. On the outside Gilt looks very unwelcoming,as it's hard to see that there is a bar, but on the inside, this place is a hidden treasure of beautiful interior, nice staff and superb cocktails.

I will preface this with the fact that I'm not a huge cocktail drinker. So with the exception of Raines Law Room in NYC, I don't generally rave about cocktail bars. What I really like here is the quieter weekdays when you can sip your unique cocktails in peace. The drinks have nice flavours and I think everyone can find a combination of flavours they like here. The menu also shows through pictograms the sort of glassware that the drink comes in. And I've found that very useful for quick selection when I don't know what I want. By default the drinks served in tumblers have my preferred flavour and I stay away from the ones served in champagne coupes. Works for me.

Visited Gilt the other night with my boyfriend, and must say I loved it! The cocktails are super delicious and the atmosphere somehow mysterious! Maybe it's because the facade is all dark and you would not dare to open the door unless you know what's behind? Or it's the dim light and slow jazzy music once inside? Maybe its everything together that makes it more than just a great cocktail place! The prices are in the higher end (90+) but it's absolutely worth it!

Absolutely loved our experience at Gilt. The drinks were so good that we actually went on a hunt the next day to find the local ingredients so we could take them back home and attempt to recreate them- I promise you, there's no way we could. From the cozy decor to the owner, Victor, who gave us some great tips for the rest of our trip, we couldn't possibly love this place more. Can't wait to come back on our next trip- if we don't just up and move to Copenhagen first!

Really nice cocktail bar. My wife and I are a bit of old souls, so we went right around its opening time. The outside is purposefully nondescript. It's painted black, and they put up the awning when they open. My wife and I actually didn't find it at first, and we debated if it was still open and existed. It does exist, and we really enjoyed it. In line with almost all of Copenhagen, they like the lighting dim. The decor is really well done, and they seem to do a number of the syrups house--that or they just pour the factory syrups into their own bottles. Either way, drinks are delicious, and if you don't want to fight the crowd, make it the first stop on your night on the town.

Gilt is wonderful because unlike a lot of cocktail bars in Copenhagen, most everyone can feel truly comfortable here. It could be the environment (small, cozy, and dare I say relaxing, even on a weekend night?) or the bartenders (knowledgeable without being pretentious, flexible, friendly) or even the music (vacillating between jazz and more modern R&B), but there is just something charming about the place. If you need to go somewhere on a Friday evening with a friend or two, or a date, and have an laid-back, intimate space where you can talk undisturbed - and explore drinks both on and off the menu, go here. I couldn't help but think how happy I was to be here in this candle-lit little corner of Nørrebro, drinking a really wonderful old-fashioned, and not some of these trendier places that are so self-aware.

Very inovative and sophisticated menu in extreme good prises for Copenhagen. People behind the bar know their way around cocktails and will serve you the best. An extra point to them because they are flexible to also make you something off the menu if the items listed are too funcy for you. The atmosphere has very plesant and chill. One could tell that it's a hipsters joint... and I would agree to some extend, but not pretentious us other places I've been at. I look forward to see what are they up to with the next season's menu!

Lovely cocktail bar, with a nice and relaxing atmosphere. Maybe I was lucky, but Hôtel Costes vol.4 was playing in the background at the right volume. What more can you ask for late friday chill cocktail session . I had my gini-martini with monkey 47, and it was very good. But served in the wrong glass ! Price is ok, definitely not chea , but not cray either . Note that during week days it's not packed, whereas during week end (exp on friday night) is extremely packed. Bartenders are nice and quick but there is not a lot of space to stand and enjoy. Be back there, sure and pretty soon.

One of my absolute favourites when it comes to cocktail lounges in Copenhagen. Nice interior and friendly staff, but what really makes me keep coming back is their signature(?) cocktail The Hogarten Tea Experience (or something along those lines). It is possibly the best cocktail I have ever had.

Think Mad Men in a mountain cottage - stylish meets classy. Will make the cliché and say the best cocktail bar in town. Very reasonably priced and with top skilled bartenders. Friendly atmosphere and the bartenders can guide you through what u want if the current menu doesn't satisfy you. The best thing is you don't notice it from the street and it's not pretentious at all- almost like a hidden gem in a multi cultural hip environment. Favourite place in the hood - likely in town.

if at all possible, i won't turn down an invitation to meet at gilt. not solely for the reason that it's around the corner from my flat, but because it is just an awesome bar. it's quiet enough to hear your companion but not so quiet that you'll hear crickets. the drinks are delicious and you can tell there is a good amount of effort put into each of them. the bartenders are not snooty, there is no smoking allowed inside, the menu is seasonal, and the chairs are comfy. need i say more?
