Okay yes, they are my neighbors, but I’m also a customer. I’ve bought 2 pairs of shoes here and a few shoe care items and my experience has been so great every time! Everyone who works here is so helpful and the manager is the sweetest. They always give me great advice about which shoes will work best for me and how to care for them.

Absolutely fantastic experience there today. Kylene and Taylor took excellent care of my partner and me. They took the time to make sure we had comfortable, high quality shoes that matched our needs. We were never rushed or pressured into any sales or brands. I definitely will be returning for all of my shoes.

This is an awesome store! Great selection and amazingly helpful staff even during a busy memorial weekend sale (I didn’t get your names but you gals were so great). You can tell they care about your happiness as a customer and want you to thoroughly enjoy your shoes. Will be my designated show supplier from now on!

Wonderful and patient customer service. I have the worst luck with shoes. I always have to try on a zillion pairs. The female employee who helped us was wonderful and very informed about the different brands, fits, and styles. She was also incredibly patient and had a good sense of humor. I walked out with a new pair of mid-rise hiking boots and a pair of office-friendly black shoes. Success! They sell very high quality shoes and had a good range of sizes. I'd visit again the next time we're in the area.

Taylor and Clarisa were amazing, working tirelessly to provide my friend and me exceptional service...and they ensured we left your store happy and with well-fitting shoes. They never stopped smiling...and their energy was limitless. The store was very busy with numerous other customers. Taylor and Clarisa were able to provide all customers quick and professional support without pause. We were impressed!

They're very knowledgeable and helpful! I bought a great pair of Hoka's from them. They knew the type of shoe I needed for my flat feet. Worth every penny!

My partner Heather and I were told to come here by some friends, and that the staff was expecting us. What they didn't tell us was how amazing the staff is. We were met by Taylor who was very excited that we had made it. From there, she helped me find a couple of pairs of Hoka shoes that are out of this world. Both Taylor and Kylene were exceptionally knowledgeable, super friendly, and patient beyond expectations. They stayed with us as we tried on pair after pair, ensuring that we were going to find shoes that we felt comfortable in. I know I will be back and will continue to purchase my shoes here for the foreseeable future. 10/10 would highly recommend!

I recently began to suffer from Planters fasciitis. And when I say suffer I mean suffer! The staff was extremely knowledgeable and very patient. They helped get me into proper work shoes and casual shoes. I felt no pressure to purchase any particular type of shoe just a genuine caring that I would find a shoe that would help alleviate my pain. I couldn't recommend the staff there any higher!

What a nice little store! The saleswomen were knowledgeable and engaging. I was wearing sandals, so they provided socks so I could try on sneakers. I was told these are the best socks in the world- and I think they're right! Bought 2 pairs. They were so nice to give me a map of the town and recommendations. Well...this is my recommendation for you- get your shoes here!

A locally-owned retailer, in the business of helping you walk around in comfortable shoes. Anyone who shops here is fortunate and probably got the best shoes for their needs. The same cannot be said for virtually every pair of shoes I've ever bought online. The carbon footprint of buying and returning shoes from online retailers was getting old, so I opted to pop in here on a cruise ship stop a while back. I found the perfect shoes for me, and still wear them to this day. Much better carbon footprint buying the right shoes the first time. Thank you, Gimre's!

Wanted to say thank you for a great, almost old fashioned shoe buying experience the other day. Paige was so helpful and everybody who worked in the shop was chatty and friendly....it was a pleasure to buy a pair of shoes there. I highly recommend looking for an excuse to check it out :)

These guys are amazing! Small town warmth and personality along with a great selection of some of the best brands. I always enjoy going into this shop.

First, I've been shopping here for Forty years. The same owner and the same business model! The staff at Gimre's is proud to work there. They show it every time you walk thru the door. They have a great selection of footwear but if they don't have what you have in mind simply ask. They will find it buy it and get in for you! I honestly know of no other retailer with the exception of Englund Marine that goes out of there way to make you feel like a guest. We are so lucky to have this business in our community. Many of my out of town friends insist on going to Gimre's just for the experience. Yet another super experience at Gimre's ! I've been looking for a pair of slip on casual shoes like my all time favorites from Keen but making them. Peter Gimre All around good guy and foot wear expert has been on the hunt for over s year! Yesterday the call I have been waiting for he located another brand that is a close match to my Keen footwear. This was not a five minute job. I am grateful that he would care enough to spend all that time talking to reps and browsing the Internet to fill a order. Makes a strong statement about shopping local and especially for buying from a brick and mortar store! On top of doing a super job Peter had a sale going on and even though these were special order shoes he extended a $15.00 discount . This is what customer for life looks like! Shoe stores are magic. Shoes should never be purchased at a mall or big box store. Stepping into Gimre's is like stepping back in time. Drop in and you'll be reminded of how pleasant shopping used to be. Be sure to buy something, even if it's just shoe laces or polish.

Keen, Børn, Dansko, Uggs, that's a really good start to any shoe store. Add that it's a third generation family business, offering excellent friendly service, a good selection of men's and women's shoes, open weekends. Top it off with carrying large men's sizes (size 14 shoes and socks? oh yes indeed). Shoe bliss.

Surprising, nice selection of shoes for walking, comfortable/casual cute shoes - men's and women's shoe ware. They carry boots, sneakers, sandals and more, including TOMS and Birkenstocks. Really cool helpers

I have been going to Gimre's since I was a child, when my mom bought my ballet slippers there. Upon entering the store, someone always comes up and asks if you need help. The sales people are always very nice and make you feel at home. One of my favorite things about Gimre's is that they keep track of the shoes you buy in their computer system. If you have a problem with a pair of shoes you bought, or just need to look up a special order, they can access it easily and efficiently. I have had a few problems with some defective shoes. They replaced the shoes with store credit, no problems, no questions asked. They really do a good job here and give really personal service. I hope that Gimre's is around for a long time to come!

Awesome shoe store! Great service, great selection of Northwest-hardy shoes (Keens, Merrills, Docs, Blundstones, Crocs for work, etc.) with the old school touch of actually helping you get your shoes on rather than just handing you a box and walking away like most places do these days. Replaced my work shoes today and got lots of ideas for my next purchase as did my wife. Best of all is the guy there really knows about the brands - when my wife commented that her black Keens were great but the gray ones were too small even though they were the same size, he knew about Keen's decision to change something along the way in manufacturing that led to those problems, how cool is that! Looking forward to our next trip in. Side note - while this is Astoria, would be cool to have a wee bit more of a selection of dress shoes as that part was pretty sparse (or perhaps a couple times a year feature them?). Other than that, awesome :)

Amazing shoe store. Great brands--Ecco, New Balance, Uggs, etcetera. Superior knowledge--I know what I like and I know a good deal about the brands that I like. And extraordinary service. Thank you for being open on Sundays!

Friendly, helpful service with an amazing selection of high quality and comfortable shoes. The gentleman that helped me was very patient and took the time to explain different options for what I was looking for. Then, to support a business over 100 years old is pretty amazing.

My wife and I were visiting and stumbled into Gimre's. This is a great old shoe store with a very knowledgeable staff. They have a wide variety of shoes. The store is over 100 years old and owned by the original family. Stop in. You'll be glad you did.

Way overpriced (and I live in New York), and the lady running the place was sarcastic and pushy (again, this coming from a New Yorker). Could have been a bad day for them, but still, eesh.

This is such a fun little shoe store in Astoria. For whatever reason we always seem to need something when we're passing through, and inevitably they have it, for cheap and always offer service with a smile. While these days I have to admit to buying the bulk of my foot ware on line, I think it's so important to patronize small local foot ware places, so this ones getting the full 5 stars for selection, AWESOME customer service and decent prices. If you need shoes, or shoe related stuff in Astoria this is the place to go!!!

Great selection of high-quality shoes. The clerk didn't mind showing my fairly picky husband a number of pairs, and we walked out with the most comfortable shoes he's ever worn. Highly recommended!
