Gin Social

Sushi bar opened every Fri to Sun night. Small menu but great value and excellent quality. Service was very slow as only one Japanese chef. Great to gather with with friends and chat.

Hannah from the Gin Social provided some of the best service I've ever received. She is well educated on not only the Gin selection but all the spirits they have available. Hannah is attentive, made me feel welcomed and I enjoyed our conversations over the few nights I visited the bar. Would also like to commend her on the sightseeing she recommended in Cairns- was out of her job description to assist my stay in Cairns but she was happy to help. If you're in Cairns, definitely stop in and say hello to Hannah!

A great place to sample an amazing range of the great drink that is gin. Come with friends for an after work drink or even to unwind on your own after a long day at work. Gin Social is great either way and the bar tender is highly knowledgeable in the perfect end of day beverage if you can’t decide on your own.

Very large selection. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff members. Great price. Special note to Hannah who was perfect at what she does. Knew the history of almost every drink and had her own recipes and style of creations and they were all amazing. A true alcoholic connoisseur :) Highly recommend.

Very nice location and cozy atmosphere and definitely worth more than one star if it was not for the bad service. We've spent an evening here on the 22nd of July. All empty tables had glasses and other rubbish on them. After a while sitting, staff told us that we had to order at the bar after 6pm. When I went to the bar to order some drinks, I've also asked very careful, kindly and polite if it was possible to clean the table (by then staff had passed the tables multiple times and made no effort to tidy them up). The lady told me she would do it once she was finished with her other work and continued sorting glasses... As we were sipping our cocktails, she was coming around cleaning all the tables around us except ours... giving us a weird look.

Very good cocktails, and 2+ pages of different gins to try(plus whiskies, mezcals and others). The space, as ever, in the Hilton lobby feels a bit sterile and huge, which needs a change. Also, the bar is hard to find if you’ve never been before- through the hotel entrance, rather than direct access from the waterfront. No prospect that anyone passing by will “discover it “. A bit of signage on the boardwalk might help draw some people up. I believe you can get some food over from the hotel restaurant, Simply Italian...though some smarter bar snacks would be a better match.

Under staffed. Waited two hours for two drinks. The Hilton really needs to pick up it's game. Two staff and one bar man is not enough to service 70 people
