Our service started with a smile from the hostess asking if we were celebrating any special occasions. Our sever asked again which is a nice touch. He made sure we didn't have time constraints or food allergies. We ordered the seared scallop appetizer that was fantastic. They were cooked Pittsburgh style perfectly and the sauces were not overpowering and allowed the freshness of the scallop to come through. We moved onto the Poke Bowl and the Grilled Duck. The Poke Bowl was a great value with the amount of tuna involved. The duck was very tasty, but IMO slightly overcooked, but that may be what the masses want. The beer selection was very balanced and the Stellum Rye Old Fashioned was only missing a nice cherry. Otherwise, the drink rocked! Great service, food, and drink!

This place has been on my radar for a long while, and I finally stepped in for dinner one night while visiting Anchorage. I love the menu from top to bottom, but I just went for some apps: banana and lemongrass soup, satay skewers, and fresh spring rolls. The dishes are definitely influenced by Thai flavors and everything was filled with bright and unique flavor combos. The sweet and spicy dipping sauce for fresh rolls made them excellent; the chicken could have stood alone but the sauce made them even better; the soup was like a sweet and rich curry and had a large portion for the price. The place has a classy, but casual vibe, plenty of space, cozy booths, and bar/table seating as well. Service was good and very quick. Thumbs up!.. I'll be back next time.

Google
Great staff and even better food. I had the wings and egg roll appetizers and the panang curry. Paired it with an old fashion that was delicious. Highly recommend this place for a special occasion since it is on the higher end in regard to price as will as it is best to have a reservation.

Google
This is an upscale restaurant which is in the middle of downtown, Anchorage. The food was very fancy but delicious, as was the price! Food: Delicious! Decent number of vegetarian options too. I tried their tofu quinoa salad - I don't know what they did with the searing but it was the most delicious salad I've ever had! Also, their banana lemongrass soup was amazing! Price: I wouldn't go back multiple times but definitely worth trying if you're visiting Anchorage. Parking: there are paid parking lots around the corner Ambience: Definitely a date- night sort of a place. Wouldn't recommend sneakers.

Google
The tofu salad is so yummy and healthy. It does have a lot of flavors. The tofu which is crispy and delicious. The portion of the tuna tower is large. We have the seafood special and it is Rock fish and chips . Since we share the dish, the chef separated the dish into two halves and it still looks so large. We are so full.

Anchorage isn't, perse, a haven for vegetarians so when you find a nice spot that at least has something on the menu it's worth a try. The vegan curry on their menu is what brought my wife and me in to this spot, one of the nicer restaurants in town. The cocktail menu was also enticing with great names and combinations of things begging to be sampled. I started with the Carthusian Coconut Cocktail. This was generally disappointing both in look and taste...Filling up about about a third of a cocktail glass it looked like more of a shot of a clear spirit with a lemon peel included. With all kinds of fun things listed in the menu that were included it ended up tasting like water down Mezcal without really any discernable coconut or other flavors listed in the drink's ingredients. Our server offered to fix or replace it but after he came back with a report from the bartender that "any modifications would ruin the drink" I opted to stick with water and my entree. We both got the vegan curry with no modifications. It tasted great and was filling, served over rice. Looked beautiful too. I would have liked it a tiny bit more spicy as it was on the mild side of things. There weren't any other vegetarian mains on the menu but the curry was filling enough. Our server had a great sense of humor, took care of us well, and didn't charge us for the drink which we sent back. I wish there were more vegetarian options on the menu and would hesitate to try another drink after the bartender's declaration about the one we sent back.

Google
Ginger perfectly suits Anchorage’s unique and delicious food scene. I had the lemongrass and banana soup, the fried Gruyère crusted risotto balls, and the Panang beef curry. Everything was delicious. Service was outstanding and portions were appropriate (which is saying a lot because I have a huge appetite). Highly recommended!

Google
Favorite restaurant on the entire trip! We loved the atmosphere, and the food and drinks were the best. We were immediately seated, and our food and drinks came quickly! We got the tuna tower, chicken caesar salad, and stuffed french toast. For drinks we had the perfect peach and the lavender cosmo. I highly recommend coming here, you can’t go wrong with any of the menu items!

Yelp
This may be my new favorite restaurant in Anchorage. Everything we had was amazing. Food and drink.

Yelp
A quick objective notice on Ginger Bar Chow (2025MAR01) First - kudos to Ginger for having adult hours - open on Saturday until 11PM. We arrived at 945 - seating only in the bar - with their limited bar menu. Ten Bucks for french fries - which arrived cold and brown. Snappy service would solve the cold part - brown not so solvable. "Nachos" came with a pool of velveeta - I commited a reviewer's sin and did not save the receipt - so not sure what they charged for velveeta/nacho-sauce (probably greater than a Hamilton). But then this is NOT a "review" - merely a warning. Both of the above worth avoiding. POSTSCRIPT - I has hoped to help Ginger's mgmt - but their "contact" ts reservations only - and no bar menu is offered at their website - so it goes

Yelp
Ginger remains a classic staple in downtown Anchorage - and for good reason. The food is consistent and delicious, the waitstaff is kind, and the drink menu is solid. Although I wish they changed up their menu more often, I enjoy myself every time I dine here and I'd recommend it to anyone!

Yelp
Didn't need to make reservations Saturday at 6pm. Place was 50% full. Waiter was very kind. Plum wine was very sweet. Like a Moscato wine. Quite a lot for $8. About 5 shots. Fried chicken was 10/10. Boneless. Great breading and not spicy. Ribs were sooooo tender. Sauce was not spicy, or too sweet. But Very red. 9/10. Sesame ginger salad was great 10/10.

Andres D.

Yelp
Really nice vibe, some great food. Not super sure what the unifying "identity" of this place is but the dishes are good, even if they're clearly very different from the original Asian inspirations.

Andre G.

Yelp
Enjoyed the drink they had called "my island is longer than yours" it was like a long island but had a nice spicy kick to it. Also tried the Sweet and Spicy Crispy Pork Eggrolls which did not disappoint. The bartender we had was knowledgeable and friendly and knew his stuff. He introduced me to a new mixtures for Sazerac drinks. The lighting inside is dim and gives a nice cozy feel. Will definitely be going back.

Carrie G.

Yelp
Came here for the second time. We got the Gouda rice balls and wings for apps. They were pretty good. The rice balls needed more cheese inside but were good. Wings were big in size and flavor. For entrees I got the classic cheeseburger cause I wasn't feeling too adventurous. The burger was good, very juicy, lots of American cheese which I only like when it's on a burger. The fries were long and thing almost like shoestring but not quite. Too dark for me really and not crispy. For dessert we got the espresso mouse and it was very good. We were celebrating a birthday and they put both desserts on a tray and wrote happy birthday on them with some apricot sauce which was amazing I was scooping it with my finger lol sorry no picture. Next time I want to try the pad Thai I think. They don't have too many non alcoholic drinks but I got the tirnagain brewing grapefruit soda. It was very sour! The whole dining time was almost 2.5 hours. We didn't get our food for about an hour and we had to wait awhile for the server to come to us for the first time and when she did we were ready to order everything, drinks, apps, and dinner. The apps came out pretty quick then we had to wait awhile for the entrees. Everybody liked their dishes.

Lyle F.

Yelp
Such an amazing spot! It isn't a very big restaurant which I liked because it wasn't too loud inside. The staff was friendly and we got all of our orders quickly. All of the food was amazing as well, the waitress recommended the general Taos chicken and it was great! The curry was also delicious. I also highly recommend getting the chocolate cake. It was so great that we ended up ordering a second slice!

Sean G.

Yelp
Wow I am honestly mad at myself for not coming here sooner! WTF this is a hidden gem! Good beers, full bar and phenomenal food! Meet the owner and he is amazing, caring and kind and genuinely cares. The place is well kept and just so cool. They even have some photos taken by a local photographer Shalem. The gingerbread man in the toaster with another one laughing maniacally is amazing. The food was just stupid good i got the General Tsoanders Chicken how will i ever try anything else after eating this. I could go back and eat this day in and day out! My beautiful wife see photo. Got the Mac and Cheese so good. Honestly get this and then use a noodle to scrape the bottom of General Tsoanders Chicken and get that sauce. It's so good together. We got the green tea crème brûlée. It was great. Wish i had a second stomach sometimes today was one of those times. Wish we could have had more. We will be back again and again! next time we will hit up the bar to try some of the appetizers that just looked smoking good!

Billy S.

Yelp
Always exceptional! Lobster Mac for dinner, green tea crème brûlée for dessert. Service was excellent and friendly.

Hannah V.

Yelp
Everything we ate were bomb!! Let me first start off by telling you that you should make a reservation, especially on weekends. We decided to change our dinner plans to have it at Ginger very last minute, so we ended up having to just find a table on the bar side. it's definitely harder to get a table if you are going with a group of more than 2 people. We had to cram four people into a small little bistro table. We started off with the wings, which came with six pieces. It was very tasty. I was not that impressed with the blue cheese dip, but it's OK, because I didn't even need it. We also ordered the Thai chicken lettuce wrap. Tasted pretty good, as well, but it was a little harder to eat. The butter lettuce can only hold so many ingredients. For entrées, my Panang beef curry was super flavorful. I could eat that curry sauce by itself. I highly recommend it. It's also not that spicy. My husband got the Mee Krob, which was a vermicelli, rice noodle dish. That was also very delicious. For me, his meal was slightly spicier than mine. Of course, we could not leave without trying the desserts. We definitely looked into the depths of our belly to make room. Green tea crème brûlée was wonderful, not too sweet, very creamy and had a real Matcha flavor. If you love chocolate, you have to try the chocolate mousse. It was so decadent and smooth. There's also Cheesecake egg roll, perfection! Overall, we will definitely go back. This is one of our top restaurants here in Anchorage.

Lorene R.

Yelp
They have terrific servers, chefs and OMG amazing chicken wings, lettuce wraps and fresh spring rolls are to die for.

Stephanie B.

Yelp
Great experience at Ginger while visiting Anchorage! The bar side seemed to be open seating. Service was a bit slow on this side, but likely due to the bar. Ambiance was chic and modern. Cocktails: Strong and delicious Food: presentation was nice, good portion sizes, and tasty selections. Ordered the spicy tuna tower (fresh ahi, but could've used more marinate / flavor), chicken wings (delicious sauce and 9 wings), chicken lettuce wraps (good flavor and texture with curry sauce), tacos (from the bar menu, pretty large and delicious), and the fresh spring rolls (cilantro jalapeño sauce was great and not too spicy). Reasonably priced for the quality and portion sizes.

Carey S.

Yelp
Service was top-notch from starting to finish. Excellent food with a ton of gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. Expect to spend $25-$40 on your entrée. Awesome interior design and convenient location downtown. We went this week and they were doing something special with DJs playing.

King R.

Yelp
Where do I start? I'll get started with the service. Our server provided phenomenal service and was very patient with all of my party's guests. Despite her busy schedule, she made every effort to provide the best service possible. Although we had to wait an hour for a table, the seating arrangements were excellent and the atmosphere was lit. Now for the food and beverage. The saison on draft was boring and tasted watered down. I was extremely disappointed in that selection. However, the old-fashioned were very good. The tofu and quinoa--red quinoa, pickled red cabbage, sprouts, edamame, heirloom carrots, red pepper, and cashews tossed in a ginger and lemongrass vinaigrette--were banging. This was the highlight of our meal selection, as the vegan curry was so poor that we requested additional curry powder and seasoning. The taste was bland and lacked any distinct curry flavor. Despite my poor experience, hanging out with friends made up for it.

Luna N.

Yelp
Food was excellent, but the vibe is okay. We were told the craft drinks at the bar were some of the best, but I think Whisky and Ramen had a more unique selection. Would highly recommend for food alone!

DJ A.

Yelp
So the filet mignon steak had no taste, it tasted plain, It didn't have any seasoning at all, the red leaf or vegetables didn't go well with the steak at all, it had a bitter taste to it, the sauce also didn't match with the steak. I was disappointed, I know I could have done better at home. The soup of the day was good, I enjoyed it, and the seered scalps were a little too fishy for me, i only had 1 piece. In the past I've had their tuna tower, i wasn't impressed, it too wasn't worth buying. The only good thing at this restaurant is the Korean wings.

Albert G.

Yelp
If you're looking for a modern restaurant with a great menu, then this is the perfect place. This restaurant has tasteful food with great flavor. The design and aesthetic is modern and up to date with a warm feel. The cuisine is Asian styled. The General Tsoanders is easily the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life. It is seasoned well, served over jasmine rice and pickled ginger-habanero cucumbers. Highly recommend, 5/5. Spicy Tuna tower for the appetizer was another great dish. The wasabi aioli is a great compliment alongside the fresh tuna and fried wonton crisps. Definitely recommend, 4/5. The crispy risotto Gouda balls were fine. There was a great crunch and flavor from the sweet chili aioli. The risotto itself was flavorless. Recommend, 3/5. The drinks, both times, were good. I had a Spanish coffee as a pick me up and it was very tasteful. Drinks, 5/5 recommend. The service was really good, the staff seemed friendly both times and were able to assist me with prior reservations requests. Overall, I would recommend Ginger to all who are local and are visiting, it's a must visit!

Bryan W.

Yelp
We walked in with no reservations to a very crowded restaurant as it was a Friday night and the day before the start of the Iditarod. We were told there was a 30-45 minute wait but we could go to the stand up bar and order drinks and appetizers. We were quickly greeted upon arrival and the waitress took our order for the mu shu tacos and bulgogi nachos. Just a few minutes later, a table was ready for us. Our new waiter came quickly and took our order for panang curry to be shared. He offered to bring it in two bowls. Our appetizers came soon after and we immediately regretted our entree order. The portions were huge! However, they were all delicious and good. Our waiter Riley was excellent. Great dinner and an enjoyable experience.

Yelp
I wrote a previous review based on in-car dining experience. On this occasion, it's my Birthday, and wanted to come and dine-in at Ginger, having had such beautiful food from them last time. We had made a reservation, and were greeted very nicely by the hostess, and taken to a table - it would not have been my 1st choice for a table, as it was kind of behind a barrier. Husband looked a bit disgruntled by it to be honest. Our server offered to seat us at another table, but we'd already gotten settled by then - but I'm giving her extra points for offering. I got a house-made ginger ale, which caused great consternation when i elected to have it with no ice. It was recommended that i have it on ice. I told them that, as an English person, our default is "no ice in drinks" yeah yeah #sorrynotsorry #ilikewhatilike and she brought it with no ice for me, but also brought some ice in a glass *just in case* I'm just saying, it was perfect as is, un-iced. I ordered the strawberry chili salad, which has candied walnuts, strawberries, onions, butter leaf hearts in a sweet chili cilantro dressing - the dressing was to die for, however, I'd have liked a bigger salad. I also ordered the Pommes Frites - another Englishism - in England, salad and fries often come together as your side, and i love them served together, and I do in fact dump my fries on top of my salad. They each enhance the other's flavours. The Pommes Frites are served with a Wasabi Aioli dip. Last time i had this dip, the wasabi wasn't nearly as noticeable, but on this occasion, it was a better nostril hit. I love wasabi, and it was evident in the aioli. Not overpowering but you knew it was there. Husband got the Panang Beef Curry. May i just say - it was absolutely fantastic, and I'll be having it next time. He let me try some, while he bummed some of my fries, and i did not want to hand it back to him. Absolutely superbly balanced flavours in that sauce, creamy, yet tangy, richly layered, and addictive. I know I will be dreaming about it, till i can go back and have some all to myself. The beef was tender. The vegetables, mushrooms, peanuts, bean sprouts - all retained texture, and were cooked perfectly. This tasted highly authentic to me. Panang is something i often get in Thai restaurants, but this has BY FAR been my favourite. The complexity of the flavour. Perfectly seasoned. Excellent vegetable texture. Superb. As you know (if you read my reviews) I'm not a dessert person, i rarely eat sweet things. I can get fat really well on savoury alone. There was a tempting sounding bananas foster egg roll. When i eat a dessert, it will almost always be banana based. But still, i was too full. If i ever get a dessert here, it will be that one. Service was excellent, and very attentive. The food came out pretty fast. Love it.

Chase C.

Yelp
Food quality was great, full of flavor. I had the pork chop but the portion seemed small for the $

Seph R.

Yelp
I had the filet mignon which was excellently cooked, but the potatoes were cold. I sent the dish back. It returned to me with the potatoes still cold, maybe 2 degrees warmer than when I first got the dish. The food was quite good though and the drinks were tasty. I just wish that they could have served it all to me at the right temperature. The service was also good. S.

Yelp
Banana Lemongrass SoupGeneral Tso Fried ChickenMee KrobSpicy Chicken Egg Roll All great choices! The drink menu is outstanding! Wasn't too impressed with my mee krob, 1/4 of my noodles were undercooked- therefore too chewy with a slight crunch? Buuuut i was hungry and didn't send it back. I ate most of it either way! This is my 2nd time here.. but it has been over 5 years since my last visit. Overall, loved the ambiance, food/drinks, and service! Friendly and fast waiters. Great for dinner!

Michelle Y.

Yelp
From the friendly service to the creative food we were wowed! Very nice atmosphere and tasty menu.

Smrithi S.

Yelp
We had dinner here one night during our stay in Anchorage, and this was the best food we had in Anchorage. The service was equally great. We started with Sweet & spicy crispy pork eggrolls, and soup of the day. The soup of the day was Ginger coconut, and was amazing. The pork eggrolls were great too. We then got Duck pad thai, and Poke bowl. I loved the poke bowl, it was soooo good, the ingredients were very fresh and it all went well together. Duck pad thai was good too. We finished our meal with the Flourless chocolate cake. A great end to our meal, we loved the cake.

Rose E.

Yelp
After browsing thru some Yelp pics, I knew we had to go here! This was one of few fusion restaurants in Anchorage, but they aced it. Though not TOO fancy, the place had a cool, minimalist vibe. We started with the Chicken Lettuce Wraps, which had an amazing Curry flavor. SO delish! My husband tried their Kobe Cheeseburger, and I chose this unusual "Mee Krob dish. Well, my husband really liked his choice (loved the burger, but not the greasy fries)...and well, I LOVED my choice! This Thai inspired dish was spectacular actually. It tasted phenomenal! Actually, the picture didn't do justice. It was such a large dish, for one...and nicely presented too. Honestly, I can't even remember the service...but just the food. So damn good!! I've had several stellar meals in Anchorage, but this "Mee Krob" dish was possibly my favorite in Anchorage?

Judy N.

Yelp
We had reservations for 4:30 and were very specific because of the long work day and wanting to not make a super long day of it. Xmas celebration for 10 people. Last year no issue. This year it is like they had no idea. Said we had to sit on bar side and would not have access to restaurant menu. Keep in mind we made reservations. Ok so moved to bar. Other patrons saw our dilemma and tried to move to give us more room then the servers moved them back. Oh well that was a nice gesture. From there service was so slow. I think because they knew they were going to add on automatic gratuity of 18%. Well she lost out because more drinks and apps equals more tip. Slacker. Sorry but now I know why I don't go but once per year and this time we all agreed a drive south might be worth it. We only chose it for downtown locale which honestly is a hassle walking past vagrants. Parking sucks. They need to do better to attract people to them.

Jerry L.

Yelp
Awful stale limited menu, awful service, terrible ambiance. Used to be good years ago--not anymore. Much better dining options downtown.

Adam D.

Yelp
Great ambiance. Great service. Great food. I've been here a few times now and left impressed after each visit. They have a great cocktail menu and a decent wine list and food selection. The food menu is just the right size. Not overwhelming but there's something here for everyone. You must order the slow roasted lamb shank, the banana and lemongrass soup and the sweet potato fries. Reserve in advance. This place fills up. Street parking.

Dave V.

Yelp
Great food, kinda spendy, great for date night, spanish coffee is on point. Their brunch is also outstanding. Sit at the bar, great vibes. Love it.

S T.

Yelp
Ginger is a gem! Love the bar staff. They are always friendly. The wings are bussin. The place is clean the bussing staff don't play!

V Z.

Yelp
Modern and relatively minimal, it's nice to find a restaurant without a fussy interior. Service was attentive but not pushy. The food was pricey, but the quality was good. I can't say we would go to Ginger often, but we would go back. The Tuna Tower could be a meal unless you share it. I ordered General Tso's chicken, which was tender and flavorful. My husband had the filet, which didn't blow him away, but he did enjoy the entree. The chocolate mousse dessert was an excellent way to finish my meal.

Fabiana K.

Yelp
We love Ginger, now that some of their menu items changed we wanted to go check it out. We started off ordering a couple of appetizers: strawberry chili salad for me and sweet & spicy crispy pork eggrolls for the hubby. They were both incredible! The appetizers were followed by my Vegan curry and his general tso'Anders fried chicken. My husband said the fried chicken was crispy to perfection. Both dishes blended together extremely well. We ended our night with two espressos. Can't wait to try more things on their wonderful menu next time!

Trudy B.

Yelp
I had to add that the old fashioned drink here is one of the best in town. All the appetizers are good BUT this time the chicken lettuce wraps were at best, wet dog food style. The meat was kinda disgusting. It looked like taco meat that you just add water to? I don't know how to describe it but the texture was more than I could bare. See for yourself in the picture. My review is the overall experiences I have had here and generally speaking this is a great place to go for dinner or appetizers and drinks still!

Pauline A.

Yelp
Mason was our server and he was absolutely excellent!! Took care of us very well! We had the fried cauliflower appetizer and scallops mac and cheese and the ginger pear cheesecake. Everything was so so good!! Six stars!! We just happened to stop by seeing it from the street and we're so glad we did! We will do this again! The atmosphere was very classy yet relaxed.

Juliann B.

Yelp
The most incredible dinner, ambiance and service! The green tea crème brûlée to cap off the meal was to die for! Highly recommend this sweet spot in Anchorage!

Bree A.

Yelp
This would be nice for a little date night and to try something different, but, if you are visiting, I don't recommend. I had the fried chicken, and it was alright. Not the best or worst thing I ever had. It was all just alright. Nothing really stood out as being exceptional.

Yuko H.

Yelp
They seated us at the most annoying table in the restaurant. By the kitchen where all the servers walk by and my view was the restroom.... We arrived around 9pm without any reservations. The host staff looked at the screen and I thought she was going to reject us as we didn't have a reservation... after talking to herself for a bit, she sounded reluctantly seated us by the kitchen entrance area. I really wanted to walk away after being treated like that but then our server turned out to be the hardest working person there. He agreed to change our table to where we don't have to see the bathroom door or everyone walking by. His service was efficient (considering they are understaffed), and friendliest smile changed my mind and we stayed for dinner. Needless to stay we tipped him extra for being so accommodating. The food.... It wasn't what I thought it was going to be as a traditional poke bowl you see in Hawaii. Full of flavor, tasty but not what I expected. Portion size was large to fill me up. Drink price wasn't cheap but not overly expensive either. Not sure if I would be back here again but they are open late, perfect after arriving by train in the evening.

Brandee L.

Yelp
I highly suggest making a reservation if you are going to eat here. The restaurant is quite cozy and they get busy really quick. Also, parking is awkward. If you are lucky enough, you might be able to get a curbside parking close to the restaurant or there is a parking lot right before it..expect to pay for it. This is located downtown next to Club Paris and the 5th Avenue Mall. With that being said.... The restaurant is actually quite lovely. The entire waitstaff is very welcoming and friendly. The interior is decorated very modern and well put together. The waiting area is pretty tight, so you might have to wait outside if you miss that window of opportunity to grab a seat while you wait. The drink menu offers a lot of options: many different beers that are brewed locally, a great selection of wine and an interesting selection of their signature cocktails. I ordered the lavender cosmo and original martini, the drinks were perfect. Not too crazy and not weak sauce. My husband ordered the ginger mojito ( he loved it, me..not so much- too earthy tasting for my liking) and the vieux caré..we both liked it. Definitely recommended ( like a sweeter Manhattan). They also served water from a glass bottle/carafe ..i know..water always taste better coming from a nice glass bottle, even if it's tap for all I know. Food was delicious! They have this Asian fusion going on..I like. I highly recommend the crispy Gouda risotto balls (sauce is yummy) for appetizers. We both ordered the New York steak with blue cheese crumbles on top...MmM!! The blue cheese wasn't overwhelming like some other places. Thank goodness! The potato was seasoned well, my husband and I didn't care to much for the charred broccolini ( kinda bitter); though everything else made up for it. I seriously should've tried the scallop Mac and cheese! The guests next to us kept talking about how amazing it is!!!! Next time Ginger, next time! Overall..good stuff..check it out!

Allison C.

Yelp
Their MeKrob will change your life. That's it. So delicious! The new cocktail menu is full of surprises. I'm missing some of the classics, but I do appreciate the innovation

Andrew S.

Yelp
A star for each of service, ambiance, the bar, and the bar. The food is conceptually interesting and presented nicely, but execution has always left me wanting. There are better places to eat very close by, BUT the bar tenders make great cocktails and coffee, and the ambiance is always a joy.

Faith B.

Yelp
I can't get enough of this place. It's my go too for all my celebrations and special events. The food is incredible and the service is outstanding! You won't taste food like this anywhere else. And their homemade ginger ale is delicious! A must have every time!

Yelp
Wow, everything we had here was so delicious!! Came with a group of 5, everyone got something different for an entree, and we got appetizers, drinks, and dessert. Would love to come back again. Would recommend making a reservation ahead of time as it does seem to get busy. (this is common for most restaurant establishments in August in Anchorage!)

Yelp
Great food, great service. I would give it 5 stars considering all the other places we ate but I am giving it four stars compared to all the places I've eaten in my lifetime.

Yelp
The intertoob said this place was a fine dining establishment, I, being concerned about my poverty stricken appearance, contacted the staff to inquire if a collar or evening jacket would be required attire. The staff informed me that this being Alaska, a man with the visage of a homeless knockabout and a well padded wallet is more than welcome. I was overjoyed! After a day spent shredding the local skatepark and fasting - I was starving and ready to be an unashamed glutton. The place was packed when I arrived and being a loner for the evening, I opted for a place at the bar. The bartender was the sort of cool you would come to expect from a place such as Ginger's. I bounced my indecisive menu choices off the bartender after ordering a Stella Artois - he proffered that the general tso fried chicken was an excellent representation of the restaurant. Two boneless chicken thighs fried to a crispy perfection - dare I say they are twice frying like the Koreans do. A wonderful red curry brine, jasmine rice, and these wonderful pickles that really pulled the meal together. After stuffing myself alongside recent east coast transplants, I ordered a cappuccino and the green tea crème brûlée to finish the evening. Belly full, I walked back to the hotel thinking about that fried chicken - perhaps there is time before tomorrows flight? Perhaps....

Yelp
Very creative cuisine and varying menu. Not a meat and potatoes place but an excursion into the finer arts of fusion dining. Love the bar space and art work creates an urban vibe.

Yelp
During home quarantine I am getting caught up on my Yelp reviews, so I wanted to clarify that my rating is based off of service BEFORE COVID-19. Our family always enjoys dining at Ginger whenever we are staying in Anchorage, Alaska. They have a lounge atmosphere with a menu offering a mixture of Pacific Rim cuisine appetizers and entrees, local microbrews and fun cocktails to choose from. We always get such wonderful service too! You won't be disappointed! We will definitely be back!
