Great place to hang out and have a cold Kingfisher beer! Staff is efficient and the surroundings are beautiful. Much better than trapesing up and down the road looking at the craft shops. Cold Diet Coke available as well.

I have travelled across Kerela for more than 17 days. Never have came across such a pathetic restaurant food. The service levels are also pathetic. The order was not taken for more than 15 Min that too after I called out multiple times. Now coming to food preparation, the good preparation took more than 30 min. And the worst part, food served was cold. The fish was stale and tasteless and rice was cold. Would never recommend to visit this place.. I spoke to the manager who replaced the rice with hot one. Seeing the level of service, a group of 10 people also left the place.

Even though I didn’t dine here, I got a chance to explore the beautiful surroundings and antique-filled spaces of the Ginger House Restaurant and Hotel — and it truly stands out. Located right beside the water, this place feels like stepping into a living museum. The décor is a blend of heritage, handcrafted wooden art, vintage furniture and stunning bronze idols — every corner looks picture-perfect and full of history. The open seating area overlooking the backwaters creates a peaceful vibe, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy the view. Staff was polite and didn’t stop us from capturing photos/videos, which I really appreciated. I can't comment on the food taste yet, but the ambiance alone makes this place worth visiting. Perfect for anyone who loves antique charm, calm waterfront atmosphere, and unique décor.

Perfect place to unwind if you plan to spend time in Jew Town. Set amidst an art-laden ambience, it's located just off the backwaters making it an ideal place to relax, eat/drink while watching the lapping backwaters. I wouldn't call the food " out of the world", but it was decent with adequate choices for vegetarians too. The service was a bit slow but that could be because we were there at the peak hours and the restaurant was fully occupied. It was heartening to see women employed as servers and wish we see this practice across more and more restaurants.

My parents, wife, and I were exploring Jew town and came upon this restaurant. We were about to enter but I wanted to take a couple of quick photographs first. A couple of women travellers saw my professional camera and requested me to take a couple of theirs on their phone. Right after the women said their thanks and left, a corpulent staff member from the restaurant came running out shouting at the top of his lungs that photography was not allowed. We had not seen a board or any indication of that sort. Otherwise, I would not have photographed. He could have stopped with that. But he then shouted that there would be fines of 2000 rupees or 5000 rupees or something like that. We were totally perplexed. It is not as though we were getting ready to shoot more photos for him to belt out the rates of his imaginary fines. My parents are seniors. He could atleast have said all that he needed to say politely and with respect. This staff member did not have any manners. Not wanting to escalate the matter, we simply left. To the staff member: You can thank me for uploading the good photos I took before you did your song and dance, pundacheemone. Who would want to eat at your restaurant after your performance? Fantastic antiques all around, drinks are nice and cold. Veg curry, rice, chapatti all good, however, what let it down was the Chicken 65. Such a shame, no currie leaves (absolute necessity in this dish) just a few overcooked bones. Awful. In fairness, it was removed from the bill immediately with no argument. Such a shame as the location and ambience are good.

We had lunch here and it was very poor quality food and the staff were very slow (15 mins to get the bill for us and then it was the wrong one so another 5 minutes to get the correct bill). My salad was inedible so I ordered fries and they never came. The museum at the front is nice but it’s definitely a tourist trap, wouldn’t recommend eating here.

Stopped for a quick beer and a snack. Overall good experience and rhe food was very nice! However the service is not attentive at all. I sat at the table and needed to ask. Waiter to come after 7-8 minutes to clean the table as the previous customers orders were not taken away. After the waiter came, he took the tables and dropped them on the next door table and left it there for 30minutes, my table was never wiped down with a cloth 😂
