Ginger House Restaurant

Everyone were in their best to make our stay comfortable and safe. They came and talked to me often to ensure I was comfortable and not alone. Ashwini was very approachable and friendly. The night boys knew good English and ran all the way from downstairs to help me whenever called. Vino and the people in the restaurant were kind and cooked custom friendly to the tamil Nadu dishes I asked for. The whole hotel vibe was good and a good vibe to our eyes. Also, they were very honest in their talks n actions. The place is lovely like in some other world. There are so many antique pieces n artistic collections. We loved the stay. Our room honey and moon ceiling was excellent. Each room is different n unique in its own way.

Food 2/5 (2 for taste, 0 for pricing) Service (1/5) Atmosphere (5/5) they have a sea view at a table level They might charge you money for breathing air in their presence. The pricing for food doesn't make sense. They have THE VIEW and they squeeze money out of that from every food item you order. Even a water bottle costs 4 times the price. And not that the food was even tasty. Bang average. And the servers. No cleanliness, just some kid with shabby clothes. Absolutely no wait when I went and I don't expect it to change anytime. I don't understand how it still has 4 star reviews. Very disappointed.

Great location on the water behind the antique museum in the Jewish quarter of Kochin. Had some beers, prawns and fish curry. Costa a bit more for what you get but it is on the water so worth it.

Poor service. Food comes after 45 minutes. Pricey. Will not revisit. The location is awesome. Needs an overhaul on staffing and service! They need to train or hire people with basic English and hospitality skills. Food is mediocre. The even got our lassi order wrong.

The ambience of this restaurant is soo good. You have a museum vibe with all those sculptures placed and the beach view was so cool. This place had a pleasant vibe. Like the service was very slow but it didn’t bother us at all as we were calmed by the peaceful beach view. In terms of food, ordered ginger tea, appam, chapathi and rice with chicken curry combo, omelette. The food was so cold. It looked like it was prepared in the early morning and they didn’t even try to reheat it. And now to the taste, the chicken masala was okayish. Not too tasty but just enough. It was a bit disappointing to have this type of food when you are paying Rs. 780 for this. I am giving it 3 star only for the ambience. Food was a cold and disappointing. The service was slow.

Was highly recommended this place based on my research and it is objectively a lovely spot to have a few drinks and observe the view of the waterfront. However, I came here for the food. We ordered the prawn starter and the chicken 65 (which we specifically asked to be spicy). The prawn was satisfactory, relating to flavour, with a nice turmeric aroma and curry leaf. The chicken was shockingly flavourless considering us asking for them to add more flavour! I gave some feedback to the owner when paying and they seemed to laugh, would not recommend if you are looking for real South Indian food.

I would recommend this place to get a complete view of the ship and Willingdon island. View is good and the location is peacefully. This place is kept in a traditional way. Not rhe posch one. But good 👍.
