Ginger House Restaurant

Was highly recommended this place based on my research and it is objectively a lovely spot to have a few drinks and observe the view of the waterfront. However, I came here for the food. We ordered the prawn starter and the chicken 65 (which we specifically asked to be spicy). The prawn was satisfactory, relating to flavour, with a nice turmeric aroma and curry leaf. The chicken was shockingly flavourless considering us asking for them to add more flavour! I gave some feedback to the owner when paying and they seemed to laugh, would not recommend if you are looking for real South Indian food.

The ambience of this restaurant is soo good. You have a museum vibe with all those sculptures placed and the beach view was so cool. This place had a pleasant vibe. Like the service was very slow but it didn’t bother us at all as we were calmed by the peaceful beach view. In terms of food, ordered ginger tea, appam, chapathi and rice with chicken curry combo, omelette. The food was so cold. It looked like it was prepared in the early morning and they didn’t even try to reheat it. And now to the taste, the chicken masala was okayish. Not too tasty but just enough. It was a bit disappointing to have this type of food when you are paying Rs. 780 for this. I am giving it 3 star only for the ambience. Food was a cold and disappointing. The service was slow.

Poor service. Food comes after 45 minutes. Pricey. Will not revisit. The location is awesome. Needs an overhaul on staffing and service! They need to train or hire people with basic English and hospitality skills. Food is mediocre. The even got our lassi order wrong.

I loved the vibe here. Food was amazing and the sea view is so good. Service was a little slow but overall loved it.

I would recommend this place to get a complete view of the ship and Willingdon island. View is good and the location is peacefully. This place is kept in a traditional way. Not rhe posch one. But good 👍.

Located very close to the backwaters, it has a wonderful view of the ships and boats moving in and out. The property itself has a feel of olden architecture using stone carved pillars and has a sense of solace and serenity that I really liked. I had a ginger lemon soda and a friend of mine had a lemon soda - both of which were good and refreshing. Unfortunately, we did not order any other food items to comment or experience them. I will hope to pay a visit next time I am back in Kochi.

The overall atmosphere was excellent, but the food was quite disappointing. We ordered a chicken club sandwich and chicken nuggets, but the bread was of low quality and the taste was very bland If you're looking for a good place to hang out, it's great, but the food is lacking. The washroom and other amenities are kept very clean and neat. Note that photos are not allowed, and they charge 3500 for taking photos.
