"A Sweet Bavarian Treat A gingerbread cottage is entirely fitting for the faux-Bavarian village of Leavenworth, and the Gingerbread Factory fits the bill, right down to the lollipop and candy-cane decorations on the walkway. Inside, you’ll find a big case of oversized, colorfully decorated gingerbread shapes, as well as chocolate chip, peanut butter, snickerdoodle, and other classic cookies. The gingerbread is thick, chewy, and fragrantly spiced, perfect for fall. They have a small breakfast and lunch menu; breakfast is mostly pastries and quiche, while lunch is sandwich wraps and deli salads. The Gingerbread Factory makes custom gingerbread houses that you’d actually want to eat year-round, and mail-orders kits if you’d rather decorate your own."

We stopped by The Gingerbread Factory and really enjoyed it. The place looks like it’s straight out of a fairytale, and the gingerbread cookie we tried was soft, tasty, and super cute. It’s the kind of treat that’s fun for both kids and adults. Definitely worth a quick stop if you’re walking around town!

Google
Cannot recommend this place enough! The cookies are amazing, especially the gingerbread and the chocolate chip! We went in early and were quick to get desserts for later in the day. Definitely would suggest going in soon after opening for a quick, easy experience for delicious treats.

Google
Go early so you don’t have to wait in line. It’s a neat little spot, but there’s no reason to stand in the monstrous lines that exist during the Christmas season. The cookies were very good and worth a visit. The atmosphere is also enjoyable with cozy lighting and an agreeable gingerbread smell that sort of soaks into your clothes if you’re there for more than a few minutes. The people working the counter were also cheery, so that was a nice plus. All in all, it’s a spot that ought to be on your list—but don’t prioritize it to the point you’re waiting with the masses in the line that stretched to the end of the street! Would visit again.

Super cute bakery with seating. The entrance is magical with a fairy tree and gingerbread house. Lots of delicious treats to pick from! Very few gluten free options though.

Google
This place is adorable and delicious. Leavenworth is amazing and this factory is a must visit. They have amazing treats and it's so cute and fun. They also have coffee another must to go with the treats. I highly recommend checking them out if you go to Leavenworth.

Google
Such a gorgeous and aesthetic interior lined with Bible verses & cozy theme! Amazing avacado toast & seasonal strawberry matcha.

Google
Really cute place! I had a sugar cookie and it was delicious, don’t know if you can go wrong with that one but I loved it haha the decoration inside was very cozy and romantic I think, had a good time!

Google
We stopped in for coffee after arriving in Leavenworth and loved how the shop was decorated. They sell a variety of things, coffee, sweets, vino, ice cream, etc. A one stop shop for whatever you're craving while staying in Leavenworth.

Yelp
Dropped by The Gingerbread Factory on a cold Friday evening after realizing most of the dessert shops were closed, but what a treat this place was! It's such a cute spot with a variety of gingerbread cookies and drinks that are great for the cold weather. I ordered a hot cocoa that was super chocolatey and immediately hit the spot. I also tried the triple chocolate which was great, but a little too sweet for me. The counter staff was also super helpful at recommending drinks to my friend who had a lactose-intolerance (turns out, the hot chocolate mix is dairy-based). I'll definitely be making it a point to stop by here the next time I'm at Leavenworth! Highly recommend :)

Yelp
Great place in Leavenworth. We went on a day trip and this was one of the suggested places to visit. We had a soft iced german chocolate cookie and it was decent enough. Had a latte and that was also decent. In my opinion it didn't meet the hype. The service was quick though. The ambiance is warm and pretty and I think that was their main attraction.

Yelp
Always a fun stop in Leavenworth!!!! I love their Gingerbread Dunkin' Coins. Friendly counter staff. Lots of cookie and bakery treat choices. They've also added good menu items..... but you can always have dessert first!!!! Ambiance is wonderful. When you walk in it feels like you are in a tree house. They have a delightful collection of handmade and decorated gingerbread bird houses. If you get the chance they have a basket of handknit socks by Tante Lisa. Pick an amazing colorful pair for $29.99! This is a steal for soft hand knit socks!!!!! The Gingerbread Factory ROCKS. One of my utmost favorite places to stop.

Yelp
Super cute spot. Enjoyed an almond milk vanilla latte, avocado toast, and a cookie to go. It felt like we were eating in an actual gingerbread house!

Yelp
This place was so cute. If you get a chance to sit in the front part, it is like you are in a gingerbread house. During the winter, looking out transforms you into winter Wonderland. They have all types of gingerbread cookies frosted with all types of flavors. They have cupcakes and other pastries. if you want a meal, they also have that. Seating is plentiful, but I did go on a Thursday morning. I ordered a gingerbread cookie frosted with peppermint frosting and a chai latte. The gingerbread cookie is huge. The cookie itself was soft. My friend ordered their cinnamon bun. That is definitely a shareable dessert. we sat there for a while enjoying the ambience. The staff was super friendly and were patient with all of us while we were trying to decide what to order from their pastry shelf. They also sell gingerbread factory, souvenirs and other small Christmas knickknacks.

Yelp
I always have to have some type of treat when traveling out of town. What's a better dessert to have than a huge heart-shaped gingerbread? It was so sugary and so sweet though! We ordered the double chocolate. Frosting was thick (half an inch) and the gingerbread heart was thick (half an inch). We wanted to get some food to help the sweetness go away, but we arrived an hour before close and they just closed down their kitchen. Overall, will come back for another treat here. Gingerbread can still be enjoyed in the summer.

Yelp
We stopped here for a snack as we walked around the shops of Leavenworth. The ambiance is casual. You order at the counter and take with you or sit at one of the booths. I had an oatmeal raisin cookie and it was excellent. Moist in the middle, good flavor, good size. The wife had a raspberry scone and loved it. The kid had a chocolate chip cookie and gingerbread cookie. I was impressed that she liked the gingerbread. I tasted it and it was deep flavor, obviously very good quality. I kind of remember that Guy Fieri visited here when he was in Leavenworth, and sure enough we found on the internet that he visited this store. They did not have any memorabilia of his visit that I saw, however. Good pastry/bakery goods, cute store, nice people.

Yelp
We stopped in here late in the day, close to closing, and the options were a bit limited. I figured this means it must be good! We snagged a cookie and decided to go back early the next morning. The lemon cookie was soft and had a nice light lemon frosting. The next day we got a giant cinnamon roll and a scone. I personally liked the scone better but both were good. I would love to try some of their cakes! This is a nice spot to get a coffee or cocoa and treat anytime! It's super cute and the staff was friendly and insightful.

Yelp
Walked in and it was just so adorable like you walked into a forest, huge tree greets you as you enter. Has seating for you to sit and enjoy your treats Went early in the morning and counter help was friendly but slightly sluggish. None the less they were helpful. Sweet treat was a hit and miss, some was amazing and some just okay, cupcakes were okay, gingerbread was okay if you like unsweetened gingerbread then this is for your.

Amy L.

Yelp
We have been coming here for over 10 years and we love the building on the main strip they moved too. Everything is always so delicious, the decorations inside are adorable. I just recently had one of their filled cookies and it reminded me of one of the bakeries I used to go to in New York as a child. Unfortunately they didn't have my size sweatshirt when I was in, but hopefully it can be available on line for purchase sometime in the future! Service was great, thank you all! The cookie I got was so incredibly beautiful.
google avatar

Carolyn B.

Yelp
Went here just as much for the food they offered as the gingerbread displayed. So many wonderful bakery items that it was very difficult to choose a few to have along with our lunch. I have to admit it was difficult to have a conversation as my eye kept roving to all the gingerbread. Had an eggnog cupcake with a little snowflake cookie garnishment!
google avatar

Yelp
The great: Gingersnap Oatmeal raisin Oatmeal ginger Peanut butter The ok: Gingerbread men (lacking ginger flavor, texture was as if it was stale). The not very good: Snickerdoodle (amazing, airy texture but almost no taste)

Yelp
Nestled in Leavenworth, the Gingerbread Factory is a delightful bakery oozing charm and warmth. The cozy atmosphere welcomes you to a treasure trove of diverse desserts, from gingerbread to cookies, cupcakes, and pastries. The friendly staff adds to the inviting vibe, and their unique offering of beer and wine makes it a must-visit spot in town.

Yelp
If you like cookies, hot drinks, & sweets. This is your place to be! I can see why the line gets long because there's so many options. If I recall, there are also gluten free choices. I love the sitting area that it feels very homey. I wish there was a station to decorate your own cookies. Now that would be a plus!
google avatar

Jessie R.

Yelp
This place is adorable! Kids and adults alike will love to see the gingerbread houses and decor. The treats are yummy and there are so many options: cookies, cupcakes, mini cheesecakes, cinnamon rolls. We had a sugar cookie with lemon frosting and it was soft and delicious. Also ordered a quiche and giant cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll melted in your mouth ant the quiche was delicious. Highly recommend stopping in for a bite or treat!
google avatar

Yelp
Took home some sweet treats for the kids. Cute to go boxes - and booths to eat at if you want to stay! As a recommendation from the barista, I also tried the iced caramel vanilla chai tea latte. A little sweet but the oat milk was delish. Friendly service. Definitely a must-visit for every Leavenworth trip.

Yelp
We loved this place! We really wanted to go to the Danish Bakery but it was closed for construction. So we stopped here instead and we're not disappointed! My mom bought the oatmeal cookie, I got a mini gingerbread tot and my husband got an Apple fritter. I will say the cookie was extremely sweet, so if you're sensitive to sugar you may want to order the gingerbread or go with another baked item. We are glad we stopped here!

DeAnna G.

Yelp
Really cute store, that is decorated nicely. We ordered the 5 mini gingerbread cookies and a ginger oatmeal white chocolate cookie (mine). We took them to go and only took them out to eat on the way home. Well, I didn't get the cookie I ordered, instead it was a chocolate chip oatmeal cookie. Not sure if I was just disappointed or if it really wasn't that great, but I'd definitely not order one again. It lacked sweetness and cinnamon. While in line, the gentleman making drinks chastised the female at the cookie counter for not calling drinks out to him. His tone was extremely demeaning.

Yelp
We stopped in for late breakfast and had really tasty ciabatta breakfast sandwiches, iced coffees, and sugar cookies! The breakfast sandwich was delicious with a nice ciabatta roll, bacon, perfectly poached egg, and a really good aoli sauce. My wife and I are always looking for a good breakfast sandwich and this one hit the spot. We also got one of their sugar cookies and honestly it was like one of the best sugar cookies I've eaten. I heard a few people on the way out say the same thing. We topped things off with iced coffees (very good) even on a snowy day Service: overall service was friendly and the food came out pretty quick even with a long line of customers. Ambiance: the Gingerbread factory is a must when in Leavenworth. They have a nice display of cookies and sandwiches and very good photo ops with the family. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Very cute location. My fiancé wanted ginger bread cookies His fav: Gingersnap My fav: Expresso Iced Gingerbread Location is very busy, felt rushed would be nice if workers took more time to walk you through the options.

Yelp
Needed a spot to grab breakfast early morning and it was recommended by the coffee shop down the street. It was one of the few places open early morning. It was quick, great food, lots of options. Order at counter and sit down and to go available as well

Chris B.

Yelp
I am a local. #1-Gingerbread Factory stopped providing local discount sometime ago. I guess the owner no longer needs business from those of us who live here. #2-this morning I ordered 3 separate gift boxes to give as thank you gifts. I explained what I wanted, the assortments I wanted, etc. The assortments were not separated, did not contain the tissue normally provided between the cookies and a few of the cookies were broken. I had to cut my own parchment paper, load my own boxes and two of the boxes were not big enough to hold the number of cookies I wanted to provide. Very disappointed. This local will probably not use this business's services in the future. I kinda let the local discount thing go, but the lack of customer service is a shame.
google avatar

Hannah H.

Yelp
About a 1-1.5: The Gingerbread Factory offers gingerbread cookies, in addition to other assortments (such as peanut butter, oatmeal raisin, oatmeal ginger white chocolate, gingersnaps, etc.). They also take orders and ship them within the continental U.S. We stopped by while roaming around town, and picked up the following to try: +a pink frosted gingerbread soft iced cookie +a chocolate soft iced cookie +an espresso soft iced cookie +a German Chocolate soft iced cookie +and, a skinny dipper gingerbread man cookie Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of the cookies at all - I didn't know that they would be soft, but they had a weird spongy, wet/moist-like texture to them, and hardly any of that 'gingerbread' taste. The icing was also grainy and strange. I think they should do a better job in providing labels or signs of the cookies that they have, so patrons are able to choose more accurately; when we asked for recommendations, the staff weren't so helpful, so it's like, can you provide anything? The place is well-decorated, and there are some tables in which you can enjoy your purchases. I'm glad I was able to give this place a try, but wouldn't return. +strange soft cookies +unhelpful staff +some seating available
google avatar

Corby D.

Yelp
We tried a gingerbread cookie that had a topping that made it taste like German chocolate cake. The cookie itself was moist and soft, but not too sweet, which allowed the coconut topping to compliment the flavor perfectly. This is a Christian owned shop with cute items and gifts as well. My wife also tried a latte and it was a little on the bitter side, but great when paired with this sweet cookie.
google avatar

Becky C.

Yelp
Meh. The smells are enticing, but other than that it is a LONG A$$ wait for nothing phenomenal. I liked the location a lot better when it was in the cute little house back off the main road. Now it just seems like every other overpriced place in Leavenworth. Bring the kids to stand in line for 45 minutes for some cookies... other than that just hit Starbucks :)
google avatar

Sarah Y.

Yelp
This review is for the hot chocolate only. Wait: 40 mins in line, 40 minutes for the drink (we were there on a busy weekend) Our order: medium hot chocolate (16 oz) I was pretty disappointed with this hot chocolate. It lacked any chocolate flavor, and it tasted like hot water. The cons: They don't have a system for ordering. When you order a drink, they don't ask for names. This makes it very confusing when there is a lot of people ordering the same drinks and only one overworked barista behind the counter. Main takeaway: Props to the barista for working through all of those orders. I'm not sure if I'd come back, but the decor and desserts looked cute! I recommend staying away from the hot chocolate.
google avatar

Robert M.

Yelp
Came in in the evening and saw all the great pastries. Noticed they serve breakfast so we decided to come back in the am for breakfast. We were a party of 4. We ordered breakfast sandwiches, french toast, eggs to order, sides of bacon, cinnamon rolls, scones and gingerbread. The employees were very friendly and accommodating. We sat inside, but they have outside seating covered by umbrella's. The sandwiches were very good and I was impressed by the poached eggs. The cinnamon rolls was soft, warm and light. The scone was warmed and served with a berry butter (yum). If I ever come back to Leavenworth I'm definitely coming back.
google avatar

Pauline T.

Yelp
Love love love this spot! It was my first time in Leavenworth and everyone here was so kind and attentive. Amazing customer service! I ordered the breakfast quiche today and had some of their gingerbread cookies yesterday, and wish that they'd open another location in California! So delicious!
google avatar

Jeff A.

Yelp
Basically a sweets bake shop with a coffee bar. I think they do light breakfast items as well. The deserts are fabulous and the decor is pretty cool. It's not stupid expensive. About the same as Starbucks which doesn't have any fresh baked goods. Yes it's touristy but it's worth a visit. They discount day old stuff and put them by a basket by the register. Cookies were less than half price and still tasted great.
google avatar

Krista K.

Yelp
Really grateful for their gluten free options, but they sell out quickly. Tried their gluten free chocolate chip cookie and chocolate cupcake and would recommend both. Staff could be a little friendlier and less abrasive. Cozy interior, gets very busy throughout the day but worth the brief wait. Drinks and food available too. Brown sugar cinnamon latte was alright.
google avatar

Justine S.

Yelp
This is always a must when we are in Leavenworth. The line was super long but it tends to go semi quick. I say semi, because we did still end up waiting about 30-40 mins before we got to order our goodies. We go there for their cookies! We got a couple of skinny dippers (plain gingerbread cookies), the mini frosted gingerbread cookies, and two frosted cookies. So good! The cookies are huge and that was pretty much our lunch. One star knocked off because the gentleman we got helping us, although nice, was a little rough with our goodies and kind of just threw them in the bag. Luckily no gingerbread were injured but I can see how they could and if they were, I would have not been happy especially waiting that long in line.
google avatar

Samantha B.

Yelp
The absolute best soft baked gingerbread cookie I've ever had. When you walk in you're greeted by what looks like a magical tree and cottage made of gingerbread. You then walk into the cottage and find your typical counter service cafe. They have so many different treats and beverages. The perfect place to warm up when it's snowy outside in this adorable little town.
google avatar

Richard L.

Yelp
Wonderful place! Lots of yummy baked goods. There's always a line, so pack your patience. Don't bother looking for the sign, just follow your nose. The aroma will draw you in!
google avatar

Sherly H.

Yelp
A very cute cafe like pastry shop with lots of seating and a wide variety of baked food options. The problem for me was the pastry's were way too sweet. We got the cinnamon roll and it was tasty but way too sweet for me.
google avatar

JaeHee C.

Yelp
Not bad, very sweet gingerbread cookies. Not worth the 40+min wait time. Will come back if the wait time is less than 5min.
google avatar

Mya N.

Yelp
My daughter was disappointed that the bakery was not in the little house anymore. We would frequent this place 1-2 times a year when she was younger. New location is on Front street. It is a lot more spacious, and has a lot more tables and seats inside. There were many different items you can get. Coffee, cakes, cookies. I noticed there weren't as many gingerbread items as I remembered. Even compared to last year when I came. Overall, it's nostalgic and I always get the mini gingerbread in the pack for the kiddo and will be back.

Yelp
The Gingerbread Factory is an indoor dining bakery and cafe. There are various treats of cookies, gingerbread and ginger snaps. There is also a selection of breakfasts and salads. We had ordered a caesar salad and a ciabatta breakfast sandwich and a latte. We took a table and after a short wait the food comes out looking very well put together. The caesar salad was prepared with freshly cut romaine lettuce, there were no brown edges. It was topped with seasoned crunchy croutons and a good sprinkling of freshly grated parmesan. There was also an abundant dressing on the side. I had ordered a ciabatta breakfast sandwich but received a breakfast wrap instead. Once it was sitting there, steaming hot, fragrant with ham, bacon, sausage, hash browns, egg...... I couldn't resist so I dove in. This thing was so hot and freshly prepared that it was almost difficult to pick up. It was pretty heavy as well which was surprising. It resembled a burrito with a flour tortilla more than a wrap. The three meats flavor combined with the egg and cheese perfectly. I poured a little of the salsa that accompanied it along the top and it was perfect! When we were done I went to the server and asked her if she knew what a happy accident was. She did, so I explained the order mistake but let her know I loved it and was glad to have had the Breakfast Wrap instead. Poor thing looked mortified at getting the order wrong but I laughed it off thanking her for a better meal than the one I asked for! We were sitting there finishing our coffees when she came to our table with a receipt and a partial refund for the mistake! The prices were the same and I truly liked what I got. She wouldn't take it back and refused it as an addition to her tip, so I told her that we will see her in the morning then and use it to get another. I really did not expect this level of service. Nobody was upset, it was a great meal. I'm going back tomorrow as we are here on vacation anyway. We had also bought some gingerbread and it was nicely baked with a soft texture and the ginger wasn't too hot.
google avatar

Derrick G.

Yelp
This bakery has a wide variety of cakes, brownies, cookies, and other pastries. The presentations of the pastries are excellent, and the pastries tasted good. I also ordered hot cider, which was very good. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, this is a good place to get dessert, hot cider, coffee, and tea.
google avatar

Kai C.

Yelp
I don't want to be awkward but the first thing you notice after you get a picture with the bear out front (I think that was here), is the Christian bent of the place, not the gingerbread. It's only after you pass all of the Christian gifts (well there aren't a lot but it's the first thing you look at) do you get to the counter with the gingerbread cookies. Nothing wrong with having that angle to your business - and it's great for folks who want to purchase a little something with Christianity in mind - but it was a bit odd to experience it as the first thing when I walked in when I was expecting gingerbread extravaganza. Just sayin'. The gingerbread was in fact delicious. We loaded up on gingerbread wahines, tiny gingerbread, iced gingerbread, all high quality and very satisfying. Of course, if you are needed a gingerbread fix, there is nowhere else you should go when you are in Leavenworth.

Jie S.

Yelp
Delicious yummy cookies. We also got their breakfast burrito which we enjoyed, but sadly didn't take a picture of. Line moves pretty fast. Some seating inside to eat. But fairly small. We got the mini gingerbread cookies and enjoyed them very much! Definitely coming back here when I visit Leavenworth again.
google avatar

Paris T.

Yelp
The Gingerbread Factory was such a cute little spot to check out and try some sweets. There's a wide variety of options as far as bakery goodies go and breakfast/coffee/lunch options as well. I visited twice just for the baked goods only. The caramel cheesecake was divine and one of the best tasting cheesecakes I've had in awhile - definitely my favorite out of everything I tried. I also tried their chocolate chip cookies twice.. fresh and day old.. surprisingly the day old cookies were way better and cheaper. The tiny tot gingerbread people are actually tasty as well as adorable. I was not a fan of their gingerbread cupcake or chocolate peppermint cupcake. Restrooms were clean and finding a table to sit + eat wasn't a problem either, but I am aware this place does get busy so keep that in mind. Overall: fun place to check out and would totally return for the tried and true favs.
google avatar

Tiffany Y.

Yelp
We love stopping by this bakery during our time in Leavenworth. It's located in the downtown area, so within close walking distance of most other food attractions. Their gingerbread cookie, and cinnamon rolls were among our favorites. Will definitely be back the next time we are in the area.
google avatar

Christi C.

Yelp
This place was recommended as a must see in Leavenworth and I agree. It is a cute bakery that had a variety of baked goods and drinks. It was a little busy but the line went down fast. The workers were very friendly but there was a little wait time for the drinks. There were tables and chairs that customers could sit at and enjoy their baked goods. Overall, it was a great experience and would go again for their cookies.
google avatar

Ken B.

Yelp
The smell alone made me gain 5lbs. I'm a big guy, I like my gingerbread so I'm kinda picky about it. They were awesome, just the right mixture of flavours. We had a group of 12 so there was plenty of tasting. All in all, I can't wait to go back again.
google avatar

Wendi K.

Yelp
Perfect spot for your fresh baked energy and mood boosting treats! Raspberry scone ($5.75) with raspberry butter was delicious and dense and had a strong fresh raspberry flavor. Iced Cookie ($3.75) was large and lofthouse style - loved the thick layer of fluffy icing. The Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream ($4.49 for one scoop in a waffle cone) was also AMAZING and chock-ful of cookie dough chunks in creamy vanilla ice cream. Amazing!!! and such a cute interior too!
google avatar

Leonard J.

Yelp
what can i say, stoped in to see the gingerbread houses and got hooked, they gave us a sample and we walked out with our arms full if you do anything in this town the gingerbread factory is on the list even if you don't like gingerbread
google avatar

Chelsea B.

Yelp
Came back to say I love this place just as much as the first time I visited! It was incredibly busy today but the service was just as great and the gingerbread was exceptionally delicious!
google avatar

Bruce C.

Yelp
Gluten-free selections were very limited, overpriced (over $10 for two 3"cookies), and " MEH." Not worth the long wait or cost.
google avatar

Leilanie R.

Yelp
Every cookie I've ordered from here has been so good! During the holidays it can get really busy so it's best to go right when they open. The place itself is so cute! They have merchandise you can browse through while waiting in line. This is a must stop spot when visiting Leavenworth!
google avatar

Yelp
Magical from the moment you walk in. This spot is THE spot for great coffee, sweet treats and amazing service. Forget about grabbing a Starbucks while in Leavenworth, this is the spot you want to go to. Just when you think you have chosen your sweet treat you see another one. I don't ever crave sugar but as soon as I came in this place everything seemed like a great idea. They have lots of coffee and tea options. This is a must visit while here. I had a sugar cookie the size of my head. It was delicious! Will be coming back just for these amazing treats! You will not regret coming here.
