Wonderful staff and a most hospitable owner. Stayed for about a week in the 'apartment' overlooking the courtyard and immediately felt at home. Easy access to great bars and restaurants in Melville and the rest of the city. The simple but always satisfying breakfasts were a nice touch. I would go out of my way to stay at the Ginnegaap again.

We stayed at Ginnegaap for 2 nights. I think the best thing is its location in Melville - which has plenty of restaurants and bars and is lively and fun to walk around and feel safe in the evening and still be able to walk back to a quiet and peaceful guesthouse. ||The guesthouse itself is welcoming and clean. Breakfast is excellent and there is a small outdoor garden which is a nice place to sit and relax in. They also helped by collecting and dropping us to and from the airport.

Wonderful place! Luckily got a room here last minute. We showed up early from an overnight flight and the owner gladly let us check in early and even gave us a suite. Wish we were here longer. The entire place is spotless and meticulously well kept. It's in a nice spot in Melville and an easy walk to some cool bars and restaurants. Breakfast was delicious and made to order. Had a great time in the guesthouse. Location is great near the night life street and in a neighbourhood mostly residential. I took the Airbnb option and we had room service, fresh towels, coffee and spices each everyday. They also offered a barbecue and appliance. Airbnb option has a breakfast availability paying $9 per breakfast. Employees are super nice and friendly.

Absolutely recommend Ginnegaap Guesthouse. Friendly staff and owner. Neat well kept bedrooms and bathroom. Has everything that you need and really comfortable. Had to make arrangements to get breakfast earlier and they brought it to my room the night before without any trouble. Each day returning the room was cleaned and just as the first time I wen into it. Prices are very good and I definitely recommend staying at Ginnegaap.

My husband, sister-in-law and I were visiting Johannesburg for the first time and found the staff at Ginnegaap helpful and welcoming. Our room had a patio where we could sit to enjoy the sun or we could relax in the front yard among the trees. The guesthouse is a short walk from the main street of Melville and the start -up coop with various shops and cafes.||Breakfast was excellent too! Thank you for a great stay Colien!

Cozy little guesthouse in Melville, close to a number of great restaurants and bars. We had a fantastic 4-night stay whilst in town on business. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. There is also a very friendly cat! This is a lovely place which offers privacy and great security. It is also very quick and easy to get an Uber in this area. It's about 45-60 mins by car to the airports, and about 20 mins by car to Sandton.

We really enjoyed staying at the Ginnegaap Guesthouse. We felt super welcome, everyone was really friendly. The room was clean and had everything we needed. And maybe best of all was having yummy breakfast in the little garden.
