Great spot! Wanted to explore a bit of South Phoenix and took the light rail over and accidentally found this spot. It’s a short walk from the station and you can enter right off central. Drinks were very affordable (great reason to take light rail here) and you can definitely tell it’s a local spot where everyone knows each other. Prices were very reasonable for the food. The pizza was fantastic and I’ll have to come back to try their other food (there’s a lot)!

I have been here twice! Once for an afternoon Jam Session and the other time for their new Karaoke Show on Thursday evening 5pm - 7 or 8 pm. I only tried the cheese pizza and the chocolate chip cookies. I would describe the pizza as a thin and crispy rather dense crust that looks like it would hold additional toppings very well. Our pizza was cut into squares. I bought a couple fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and they were perfect.. Yum The venue is family friendly with live music, a full bar and they sell vintage clothing and some touristy items. It is a VERY cool place..

I love this place!!! I've been coming here since I was a kid in the 1980s. The pizza is unique, especially the thin crust. This place is under new ownership, and they have remodeled and really fixed the place up nicely. I like that they now have their liquor license. The new owners are very nice and are beautiful people. I highly recommend Gino's!

Where everyone knows your name. After a short time your start to get to know everyone. Great food , great staff. I sing here and run a Karaoke show here with my friend Cat. Cat is amazing. South Phoenix finest comes out to sing their hearts out. Don’t miss out! Come see us every Thursday at 5 pm. Also once a month I also participate in a jam session here too. Several other bands play here too. I love the food. The pizza is good their salad is great. They have specials going on foods. A great shrimp cocktail and even the occasional ceviche cocktail is available. And the best cookies and ice cold sodas. There is also a bar. It’s a family place. P.s the Karaoke isn’t just limited to adults. Kids can sing too!! Check this place out!

Google
This was really fun! I was looking for good pizza delivery in the area... none found. So I noticed Gino's had high marks. Fine, I'll drive to pick up. WOW! little older looking place, but went inside... PARTY atmosphere Sat night! Fantastic Pizza! So glad I ordered here! Plan on going back for a sit down.

Google
Ignore the negative reviews—some people just like to complain. Folks on the south side often say we lack family-owned, small businesses, yet when we do have one with good vibes and great food like Gino’s, people still find reasons to tear it down. If you have an issue, bring it to management instead of bashing them online. Gino’s, keep doing your thing—this place is cool and exactly what the neighborhood needs!

Yelp
Cute south phoenix pizza parlor serving pizza, and specials like carne asada street tacos and quesadilla's. The owners are awesome down to earth people. The South Side pizza with pineapple added is so good. The deluxe pizza with extra sauce and cheese is amazing!! The inside bar area is cute and the ambience is welcoming and a laid back vibe. I really love coming here.

Yelp
We soooo wanted to like this business. It's a small, locally owned business, and we wanted to stray from supporting a chain. We got a 16 inch pizza and wings. The pizza, with Italian sausage and onions was just blah. The sauce wasn't flavorful. The sausage was scant for a 16", and the crust tasted like cardboard. It was better than a store bought frozen pizza, but not by much. The wings were tiny and weird. We got buffalo sauce but I guess they are sauced before they are deep fried??? They were spicy, but chewy and not meaty at all. Should be a lower rating, but this is our first time at this business. We may or may not try again. Expected much better.

Yelp
Got harassed by the delivery driver about only giving him a $4 tip. Then later called me back threatening claiming that I paid with counterfeit money and is going to call the FBI. Obviously these people are insane
google avatar

Louie P.

Yelp
Please please please stop making the pizza so thin. it wasn't never this thing and flimsy

Yelp
I have been waiting to write this review as I have had the pleasure of helping get this place remodeled and have watched it grow out of its former shell like a butterfly eclosing (yep that's the proper word!) Gino's makes great thin crust pizza, sandwiches, wings, incredible soups (their Texas Chili could win a cook off!) cannoli, ice cream and much much more! A very good selection of soft drinks and The Gaucho Bar is now open! Mix drinks, bourbons, Scotch and a huge choice of can and bottle beer! And soon (whenever they finish it) the light rail will take you right to Gino's Pizza!!!

Yelp
Favorite pizza place as a child and still my favorite now as an adult. The new owners are extremely kind and are doing a great job in keeping the original pizza recipe! The south side (pepperoni and jalapeño) is by far my fave!

Yelp
Used to love Gino's when I was a kid a now it's a big disappointment when I make a to-go order and I get half ass work for my hard earned money pizza was dry and my fries weren't even edible I wish I had something good to say honestly.

C M.

Yelp
Went to have dinner , sad to say the Pizza is not the same, the original Gino's would put a lot of cheese and you couldn't see the sauce, this had a lot of sauce and very little cheese and the cheese didn't taste the same, kinda tasted like Tostinos Frozen Pizza. Crust was too thin. I hope you can go back to the original way. So you don't lose business. But I did like the way they have at up The dining area.

T C.

Yelp
Love this place! Derrick and his wife are amazing hosts offering friendly & personalized service. Their space has fantastic pizza, beer, wine, and spirits, Ms Pac-Man, an amazing selection of vintage shirts, ice cream, candy, espresso, and the best chocolate chip cookies you'll find. Can't wait to go back again for the food, drinks and ambiance. Did I mention live music?!

Yelp
Yeah after new ownership I would say the pizza tastes good and the ladies are friendly ..

Sergio C.

Yelp
pizza was very bad, felt like chewing cardboard.. sauce had a lingering taste and cheese falls right off the pizza.. but the worst part was the wings. undercooked, under-sauced and under-plucked.. i've lived in south phx for 23 years and had never been to gino's. now i know why. had a coupon in the mail for a free cheese pizza. i called, made an order. pizza, added toppings for $2, and the wings. when i got there some lady rung me out. didn't want to take my coupon because she said it was for a cheese pizza. she then said "you must have talked to ___ she's just a worker, she doesn't know" which makes me think she's the owner. bad service. bad pizza. and bad energy.

Dan F.

Yelp
The best pizza spot in New Jersey. They make anything taste amazing! Service is top notch. If anyone comes to visit from out of state I always order Vinnies. It's a winner every time.

Urshula H.

Yelp
Pizza s ready on arrival after orders. Hot and delicious. Don't let the light rail construction keep you from enjoying
google avatar

Sian M.

Yelp
I was on the website. The menu doesn't have prices on it. Might just be me but I find it very annoying. Will keep looking.

Just R.

Yelp
so i went other and very disappointed once again the pizza was a miss..lack of pep and not cooked properly. for the money and what they specialize in I don't understand...when they do get a cook on. it's bomb. trying to support local but comes with a price for me. will have to rethink my next pizza craving. I left 3/4 of the pie..

Carmen V.

Yelp
We have been going to Ginos for years...the recipe change when they sold the business but they are back to the good tasting pizza that we love some much...
google avatar

Alyssa V.

Yelp
I grew up eating this pizza. Been around for years. I see there's some bad reviews and yes the crust isn't flavored or great, but I'm not a big crust person. Maybe it's because I have ate the pizza since I was young, idk but I love the pizza and would consider one of my favorite places, hate that I moved to the west valley so not so easy to get.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
The pizza literally tasted like a chef boyardee self-made kit from the grocery store. The wings we did not eat because they were rubbery vs. being deep fried. We read the reviews prior to ordering trying to give it a shot being local but unfortunately the food spoke for itself.

Albert A.

Yelp
grew up eating Ginos and honestly it never geta old don't let the light rail stop you from enjoying it is well worth it!

Lisa D.

Yelp
The people are very nice. But the food is bad. The pizza is not fresh Italian pizza, it is on cardboard sheets not pizza dough The wings are not fried The place looks authentic but everything else is stale, cold, and flavorless. Over cheesed with tasteless cheese. No homemade food.

Antonio F.

Yelp
Wings are to die for really good service and fun retro games would recommend it for tourist or if you want to try something new .
google avatar

JB B.

Yelp
This was easily the worst pizza I've eaten in years. I typically try to support local businesses but honestly I have to post this brutal review. I've had better frozen pizzas. It's was really really bad. Crust was awful and the cheese was odd. The crust was as bad as I've ever had.
google avatar

Richard M.

Yelp
Man I'm sorry but. This pizza has zero flavor. Ketchup on a cracker is what this is. No flavor in the crust, the sauce. It's very bland. I'm all for supporting local businesses, but I can't spend cash here. Hopefully they can experiment with some new recipes and they can stay open. I'll say this for them though, I would rather come here than step foot in Ponchos
google avatar

Cynthia A.

Yelp
This place used to be the best pizza on the south side. They stopped carrying at some point. Sad. This used to be a south side staple for good hood pizza. Now it's just a Pizza Patron knock off and Pizza Patron is just a knockoff of Little Caesar's and Little Caesar's is a knock off of Peter Piper. What a mess.
google avatar

Lynn K.

Yelp
So on the way to do a night timeline at south mountain. Stopped in to get some pizza. Wow Tony's frozen pizza would be better. Like really is awful. It's the most gehetto run down hole in the wall place that you would expect to have the most amazing food but nope. My 6 year old who will eat pizza every night took a bite and decided no dinner was a better option. I'm all about local places. But couldn't pay me to go here again. I wish I could get my 14$ back ew. We left the whole pizza laying on the table and left.
google avatar

Joe M.

Yelp
Beat pizza on the south side. Just had a extra large. Gotta get extra sauce extra crispy. I will be coming thru once a week.
google avatar

Albert N.

Yelp
Gino's Pizza is one of those places I have growing up as a kid. Living in the ghetto south Phoenix neighborhood in which it is located, my parents frequently ordered delivery from this place. Now that I am a grown up, I still love it. It is just as good as I remember. I take a drive down once a month from north Phoenix. Now keep in mind. I am praising them for their namesake... PIZZA. Anything else ... such as wings... is not so good. Even so... I think Gino's is one of those "Love it or hate it" things. My stepdad says it tastes like a tortilla with ketchup on it. I say, cardboard never tasted so good!
google avatar

Veronica M.

Yelp
So over the phone the lady was a bit rude. But in person she is much nicer. As far as dining here you have to be ready for the swamp cooler there is no AC. As far as the take out I would recommend calling ahead. Every pizza is made to order so it takes a bit. It's thin crust so it's not like 45 min but more like 20 min. The pizza well is okay. As many times as I have been here and having grown up in South Phoenix still not a huge fan. But the family seems to stand by them so I suppose the pizza is adequate. The reason for 3 stars is my experience over the phone, swamp cooler, and adequate pizza.
google avatar

Judith V.

Yelp
Ordered a pepperoni pizza from Gino's last night and had Uber EATS deliver. The pizza was so insanely greasy my young daughters couldn't finish it without dabbing it with a napkin. Not worth it and we won't be back.
google avatar

Ernie L.

Yelp
Have you ever been so excited to maybe maybe get good pie in Phoenix then then you open the magical box and see depression and disappointment well this is the place where dreams turn into nightmares for the love of the pizza gods stay away. You have been warned
google avatar

Bree O.

Yelp
Please do not eat here, aside from the rude ass staff the pizza here tastes better than frozen pizza from Walmart. The crust is hard as a rock and it's just down right all around awful and overpriced for the quality. Seriously what a disappointment and waste of money
google avatar

HILARIO A.

Yelp
Old "School" Pizza! Literally! If you like that kind then you will love Gino's. It's a SouthSide staple!
google avatar

CJ A.

Yelp
My family LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Gino's. We always order 2 large green chilli pepperoni pizza! We drive all the way from Westside just to get Gino's pizza.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is the epidemy of yuck. STALE cracker like crust with dollor store cheese and pepperoni. They had the nerve to ask for their tip. Never again... I'm calling after writing this review

Yelp
"I guess nothing is ever as good as you remember it" -Marge Simpson Unfortunately, I tend to forget why Gino's pizza is the most awful pizza place in Arizona. About every four years I forget that they use the world's worst watered down sauce, synthetic tasting, plastic-like cheeses and toppings, and a crust that seems to only consist of equal portions of flour and water. That leads to forcing myself into a journey that reminds me that this place is a poor excuse for a pizza parlor. It's clear this place has a steady stream of customers, (the owner flaunts an ever changing sports car out front of the restaurant). How else could he afford to drive nice vehicles? That leads me to believe that there are like-minded saps who make a residual journey every few years to find out why it's been so long since there last visit. On a positive nod to nostalgia, they still have the same arcade games I fed quarters to as a child. That tends to bring a lighter side to each visit. It is very clear that this is the worst pizza (find out for yourself!), but at least you can always rely on the on that consistency.

Yelp
I was very disappointed with this place. I was very excited to eat at a place local South-siders recommended. But my family and I were greatly let down. First, after we got over the hot room with only a swamp cooler, the service was beyond horrible. Never got a hello but got a what do you want. When our food was brought out, it was thrown on the table with a "watch it, this is hot." A side tip, don't ask for crushed pepper, that will just make the lady even more mad. The food was something else. After seeing everything was frozen and in cans, I was shocked by the price of the pizza. The crust was like cardboard and the sauce was nothing special. Honestly, little Caesar's would have been better. Save your money or go someplace else!

Jimmie T.

Yelp
Not the best in Phoenix the problem is with thee crust . Sauce is tasty . If you have had authentic N.Y. pizza you will hate this pizza .
google avatar

Jonathan M.

Yelp
Ginos is the BOMB! I've been eating here since I was little and till this day. I always order my pizza over the phone and there very pleasant to speak to. I definitely would suggest getting a pepperoni pizza and make it crispy!
google avatar

Lisa C.

Yelp
My First Love!! Gino my love all I do is daydream about you out here in Charleston, SC!! I flew out to Phoenix last month just to have you in my mouth! Only if you delivered to the east coast, say you'll never change..I Love you! Your #1 Fan! =)

Yelp
There are a lack of independent pizza places in South Phoenix, the chain pizza places are easy to find sure, but if you are looking for a natural fresh tasting NY style pizza you are out of luck. Which makes it very hard to write this review. Gino's is only 2 miles from me, and it is an independently owned mom and pop type place, so when something like this exists in South Phoenix I want desperately to like it. The sad reality, for both Gino's and myself, is that this is truly the worst pizza I've ever had. When I say that I mean almost inedible. It's basically a technicality that this pizza passes as edible. For instance the ingredients within may be common for your average pizza, It may even look like pizza, but on every other level something is just wrong with it. Visually the pizza, while looking like a pizza (round in shape with cheese and sauce), is disheartening at first glance before you even taste it. Unfortunately this is one of the times you can judge a book by a cover. When you bite into a slice it sort of has this film of water to it. Something that immediately forms a barrier between your taste buds and the slice. Often you will see pizza boxes display that their mozzarella is 100% REAL dairy cheese. When you eat Gino's you can't help wondering if they left that off their boxes for legal reasons. The cheese has this rubbery plastic type texture to it and seems to be absent of taste. This is sub-sub-store brand cheese, in fact it seems like it would be a challenge in itself to acquire a blend of materials so consistently awful. The crust is like cardboard, sometimes even a little burnt. I don't know how this crust was made. It's almost like every time a vital ingredient was left out of the cooking process rendering the pretty funky tasting. It's almost like the main goal of the crust was merely to house the toppings, not to be eaten. It's so rare i eat a pizza that is disappointing on every level, but in this case that's Gino's. I have traveled around the United States. Ate pizza in New York and in comparison Wyoming and it's trippy to think that the worst pizza i've had is 2 miles from me. Maybe some day Gino's will go through big changes. that would be great because I really wanted this place to be "my pizza place".
google avatar

Teresa T.

Yelp
Been open since 1957! They're doing something right! Love me some Gino's! The original thin crust I grew up on. Yum
google avatar

Patrick B.

Yelp
Just went to Gino's for the first time tonight. The place is old but in decent shape for the area its in. The staff were friendly and the place was pretty clean on the inside. We ordered a large pepperoni/mushroom/olive pie. The crust was thin and crisp but reminded me of the first time i tried to make bisquits. Dry, flavorless, full of loose flour, and sits in your stomach like a rock. The mushrooms and olives were both fresh from a CAN. (Even dominos uses fresh ingredients..) The pepperoni was lackluster and barely had any "pepperyness". The one good thing this pie had going for it was the marinara. Im a big fan of spicy marinara on a pie, and this one had plenty of it! I was very disappointed with this pie. Have yet to find a good local pie place here in south central... Sorry guys, ill be teaking my money elsewhere.
google avatar

Paul A.

Yelp
Absolutely the worst tasting and quality pizza I have ever had. It literally tasted similar to the kid's recipe homemade pizza, but worse. And it was more expensive than the big chain pizza places. NEVER. AGAIN.

Lily L.

Yelp
I decided to try this place for the first time today.... never ever again. $26 on frozen crust pizza and Costco wings thrown in the microwave & bottled ranch. I probably saw things shouldn't have seen... they should really move the chairs facing the kitchen lol. I don't understand how it has good reviews. Their pizza is comparable to Kroger frozen pizza. Not even Digiorno. Don't waste your money here.
google avatar

Joan M.

Yelp
Terrible! Ordered pepperoni pizza and wings ($25). Wings were fatty disgusting and soggy. Pizza was mediocre at best. I will never order from this place again. I have no idea how they are still in business.

Joseph G.

Yelp
I was so disappointed in the Gyro. It was more of a pita bread and less meat. And where I was sitting I was watching them prepare the meals of other customers. Some kid wipe his nose with the back of his hand and failed to wash their hands but continue to make a pizza. I will not step foot back in this place. I heard wonderful things about this place, but I only experience bad and cold food, poor health protection, and high cost of product. I recommend not going here.
google avatar

Raquel A.

Yelp
Gino's pizza is a South -Siders MUST! I was raised in south Phoenix, this to me is comfort food. I love this place.

J H.

Yelp
We went in yesterday to celebrate my nieces birthday. Our family grew up eating Gino's so we love the place. I'll admit I hadn't been there for a couple of years but the pizza is just as good now as it was then. I think the sauce is a little different but it was still good. We had the peperoni and sausage with green chili pizza. The men working last night were all very nice and friendly and provided excellent service to our group. We will definitely be back! Note: If you are expecting to come here for gourmet pizza you will be disappointed! If you did not grow up eating Gino's, chances are you will not enjoy it. For most people Gino's is a taste of their childhood. You would never go to Taco Bell for authentic Mexican food so you should not come here looking for true New York style pizza. But, for our family it's the best!
