Rooms: We had the Japanese Style Room with the open air bath. It was very comfortable and a lot of space. It was very clean and overall we were very very satisfied with it. Service: The staff was always very polite and accommodating. They spoke fluent englisch and could answer all our questions without needing some kind of translation. Location: Overall the location and the view was dreamy. Only four Stars, because you optimally have to go there by car, if you are comming from a bigger city. Facilities: The Onsen was very cozy and had some different kind of baths. Tattoos were allowed in the Onsen, which was a first for us in Japan. Food: We had the traditional japanese dinner and breakfast. Everything was of high quality and tasted delicious. Overall: Would go there again :)

It was a shame that the ryokan suffered a bout of norovirus infection that affected the staff, which prevented the hotel from serving meals during our stay. Because it happened suddenly, the ryokan didn’t quite have a good contingency plan in place, communication was unfortunately lacklustre as well. The outdoor and indoor onsen was small but cosy. There are standing, laying down and and sitting baths. The rooms are chilly even with the warming function of the air conditioner. The ryokan did their best during the norovirus incidence, if I recall correctly they mentioned about waiving all room charges. Originally they only mentioned about waiving meal fees. PS: Food options may be scarce in the town below, do consider getting some provisions at the supermarket before coming to the ryokan. The hotel shuttle will make a stop at the supermarket first.

Very good experience. Located around the Ginzan area, per head JPY40000 covers a half open air private Onsen, 2 set of dinner and breakfast. The food was great and you can have free flow of wine and all Phil. The only bad thing is that it is slightly away from the core Ginzan area

The closest large scale modern onsen hotel next to 銀山溫泉。book early since tr lodgings inside 銀山 are either old or very expensive A bit tourist overrun but there ya all you can drink sake beer and gin and souju at dinner and even after baths ! One more plus is that you can visit the two old guesthouses it owns in the town

Due to some employees being infected with norovirus, the hotel is unable to provide breakfast and dinner. Therefore, only 150 yen per person is charged, and the remaining amount is fully refunded, which feels very sincere.

The team did the best they could given the unforeseen circumstances, and I commend their efforts in doing so. The amenities are a little old and the room view is great, but the service is definitely top-notch!

5 minutes walk away from the main streets, more easy to get the appointment than other hotels here. The food they offer was perfect, and stars can be seen clearly at night. lf you are coming for the Spirit Away, you would be a little disappointed, the main streets will be smaller than you think, and full of visitors through the day. But if you are coming for the hotspring and Japanese cuisine, then you won't be disappointed.

Beautiful experience here - visited in early October 2024. Everyone is so friendly and sweet with great service. They were also decently English friendly at the front desk and at dinner as well. The room was very spacious with a gorgeous view into the forest, which is the same view you get from the onsen. They have different size yukatas on your floor and jackets/socks etc from your room. You pick a time for dinner when you sign in but you can just show up for breakfast during a time range. Food is served in a large room with other guests but you're seated quite far apart so it still feels intimate. Food was great and very healthy. You can also pick and make your own drinks laid out at the back. The onsen itself is very nice and you feel right in nature. I ended up being by myself for a good chunk of the time and you can really hear the sound of the forest which was very serene. There's also a standing and lying down section which was unique. I didn't have time to explore other onsens in town but I think you can if it isn't too late/crowded. As for the location, Ginzan-so is not directly in the town but the town is a short walk away and you'll see people doing the same at night and in the morning to explore/for photos. They also do have parking on site. Overall, lovely traditional ryokan experience through and through!
