For those still unsure if it’s possible to spend the night (August 2025): From like 10/11 pm the DEPARTURES are CLOSED, you can wait in the ARRIVALS. Someone will come and check your boarding passes. However at 3am you HAVE TO move to the departures hall, at 4am the security checks begin and then you can go through and have access to cafés with drinks and foods. There is nowhere to sleep but on the floor basically, and there is bright light all night. So we stayed up all night but then I wasn’t feeling all that great during our flight so I wouldn’t really recommend it. But it’s doable. Otherwise I think the airport is fine, I had no problems.

No queue for security, went straight in, very quick. Didn’t have to seperate liquids, staff were so friendly, helpful and spoke great English which was so helpful. Charging points. Restaurant/shop staff were super friendly, spoke great English, good prices for an airport. Clean well managed to avoid congestion. By far the best airport (alongside TIA) I have visited. Recommend everyone flying to/from Rome to use this airport.

Ciampino Airport (Rome) is a small but highly efficient airport that offers a smooth travel experience, especially for those flying with budget airlines like Ryanair. My recent experience at Giovan Battista Pastine International Airport offered a truly unique start to my Roman adventure! While my flight schedule had an unforeseen adjustment, I found it an opportunity to embrace the local atmosphere. The boarding process was certainly memorable: a proactive transition to a spacious, sun-drenched 'greenhouse' area, where one can truly bask in the Roman warmth at 36 degrees. A highly immersive waiting experience, quite distinct from typical airport lounges! The airport staff, though efficient, maintained a wonderfully discreet presence, adding to the streamlined flow. It's clear that while the airport provides the infrastructure, flight operations are the airline's domain. For any specific queries, their helpful team directs you to the airline or their online suggestions form. If you appreciate a robust, distinctly Roman start to your journey, embracing both the sun and efficient, if unconventional, processes, this airport provides a memorable send-off!

Small airport, quite calm and well equipped. You will find there are necessary services, including places to eat and drink (McDonald's among others). Prices are affordable when you take into account airports' standard. Fast Track in my case was not useful.

Nice small airport with clean toilets and a drinkable water. People can stay overnight when you have an early flight. There are Carabinieri doing some safety checks so its safe.

Small but efficient airport. Good bus and taxi availability to come or go to Rome center within 30-40 mins. You have vendor machines, the typical airport shops, snacks, coffee - and we also saw two kicker tables and a piano that you actually can play (if you can play). Arrival and departure went organized, in a good tempo.

Rome Ciampino Airport is the secondary airport serving the city after Rome Fiumicino, it was named after Giovan Battista Pastine, who was an Italian pilot serving in World War I. The Airport is one of the oldest in the world it opened in 1916 and served as Rome's main and only airport up until FCO opened in 1961, nowadays it is a hub for budget airline, Ryanair who run the majority of flights from the airport, alongside a small number of military and Wizz Air flights. It's pretty easy to get to the airport from the city centre - you can either take the coach from outside the airport or use a combination of bus and train, the latter option is by far the cheapest and most comfortable option. It's around 12 kilometres from Rome's city centre. Due to being such a small Airport, I was able to get through security in a matter of minutes, which I greatly appreciated, there isn't much at the Airport after security, there's a small number of unbranded Cafes and a small duty-free. There is a McDonald's which opened in 2024, but I wouldn't advise ordering from here if you've already been through security, as they actually bring the food through security themselves from their kitchen right by the check-in desks, so it does take a while and you're not guaranteed to get your food for some time - bad if you're in a hurry for flights. It certainly isn't the most glamorous airport, nor is it a great welcome to Rome, one of the world's most beautiful cities, but it gets the job done, it's no more difficult to get to than Fiumicino and I would not begrudge using the Airport again, but I would arrive much later as it isn't a place you want to spend much time. 3*

So upon arriving at the airport FCO one has 3 ways to get out of the airport . Bus , car, or train and all 3 are available at this airport with the train being the most common. So if your taking the termini station subway look for the exit sign. You won't see the termini station exit under termini it will be listed under exit/ baggage claim . Follow the baggage claim all the way to the end and you will find the Termini station. For my first time here I was able to navigate the airport smoothly although the whole time I didn't see the train exit sign until I got into baggage claim. Thank you to all on YouTube showing me the ways before getting here. Overall this airport is nice and the people friendly. From coming out the gates and redirecting it can be a really funny feeling if not stressful but I found as long as one has the internet one is never afraid . I've had long full blown conversations thru google translate and learned to communicate with anyone in this world .

We flew out of Ciampino so we didn't have the full experience of a long layover or anything, but the experience was fine. The layout of the airport is odd, at least from an American perspective and once you get to the gates, there aren't food options besides vending machines. The staff seemed nice and capable enough but some of their gates are so small that they can't accommodate seating for even half of the passengers - that's weird to me. All in all it gets you where you need to go so I wouldn't mind traveling through here again.

This airport is a ghost of its former self. Once the second busiest airport in Rome, its only commercial carriers are budget airlines. It's easy to get in and out, move around, and park.

I flew into Ciampino International Airport during my weekend getaway in Rome. The journey had been along one, as I was coming from the other side of the world (clinical rotations). Fortunately, the staff here made my arrival seamless. Once we disembarked the plane, we proceeded toward Italian immigration services. The officer was not a man of many words. He just looked over my passport, stamped it, and I was on my way. I didn't check in any bags, I made do with a backpack that weekend, so I went on my way toward the taxis. The taxis were few, and the wait time was a bit longer than expected. I was a bit stressed, as my phone battery was almost dead, and I still had to pick up my girlfriend at the other airport (Leonardo Da Vinci Int'l Airport). While I waited, I chatted with two officers. Despite a language barrier, I was somehow able to communicate using Spanish. The taxi driver had a charger, which was a lifesaver, and we made our way to FCO. This airport is smaller, and it used to be the main airport servicing the fine city of Rome. It still serves its purpose well, but I forewarn you, make sure you have all your necessities and a charged phone. Stores are limited here, especially when I was there (Easter weekend). My experience here was overall great. If you're coming here for the first time, I recommend brushing up on conversational Italian, or do what I did, and somehow get by speaking either English or Spanish.

Arguably the WORST airport I have ever flown out of. My boyfriend and I were leaving Rome headed to Dublin and we took the TrenItalia from Termini to Ciampino. Little did I know that the station doesn't directly take you to Ciampino airport and you still have to take a bus, taxi, or Uber to get to the airport. (How does that make any sense?!) Like most airports that fly with low budget airlines, Ciampino is one where you'll basically be mulled around like if you're in a Greyhound station so that you can board a bus to get onto your plane. This is where priority boarding really comes in handy! Even though you won't be seated based on where your seat is located, you'll at least be on the first shuttle that drops you off in front of the plane. So if you're traveling exclusively with carry-on baggage, this will definitely help you find a cabin space since the second shuttle won't typically arrive for another ten minutes at least. The airport is pretty simple. You have a pick up and drop off and there is really only one terminal with two gates: A and B with varied numbers. Once you've checked in and passed security, you'll get a small selection of dining and vending machines so you can take food and drinks on the plane with you because you won't get any complimentary meals on your flights. Boarding is a terrible mess. There's no sort of structure and flights that leave later than you will somehow end up boarding before you. Gate closing times are more like beginning boarding times. If you're trying to make a connecting flight, you can kiss that goodbye!! By the time our flight was set to depart, all of us at priority boarding were barely getting into the shuttle to get on the plane. When all was said and done, we left the Airport and arrived at our destination an hour late. When traveling, time is money and I'm disappointed by the overall experience here at this airport and with the airline I flew with. Avoid this place at all costs unless you've got nothing but time to kill.

Decent airport but I was only there for a layover. I'd imagine it's a busy and popular airport especially in the summer. My layover involved different terminals but it wasn't a hassle. A little bit of a walk but nothing crazy. Plenty of restaurants and shops and there also a smoking section here by the gates.

(Unlike United - no one was dragged off the plane) 3/18/2017 I wanted to post on Easy Jet but for some reason every time I put in "Greece " on Yelp I get an error message. Took Easy Jet from Athens, Greece to Rome, Italy. Cheap flights $45.00 one way, flight was uneventful and no frills. If you want snacks or drinks it's extra for a few Euro's. They also offer Lottery tickets on the flight. Not sure what you would do if you win, fly back to Greece (ha ha).

You'll enjoy your visit to CIA airport if you like crowded gate areas without sufficient seats, and walking around all the people sitting on the floor while waiting for their flights. There are a number of food outlets air-side as well as the usual duty free, but seating at the tables is pretty limited too. Arrivals is speedy, and you'll just need to visit each of the bus counters to see which one is the next to leave so you buy the correct ticket for that company. Tip: you can also buy a ticket next to the busses outside, which can be a lot quicker.

So this is Rome's secondary airport. What is nice about it is that it is small and easy to get in and out of. That is compared to FCO, which is a chaotic maze of monumental proportions. If you are here, you are surely taking a budget flight... and for some reason they all seem to leave at crazy hours. What's up with that anyway? But I am not here to judge Ryanair and the like. This is about the airport. To be honest, they found a way to make this tiny airport a chaotic mess. It could truly be a jewel, but there is just no though put into making passengers feel comfortable, or into easing the process. It would be awesome if they did, since passengers are about to get on flights with cramped non-reclining seats. Imagine if the airport could be a positive experience? Problem number 2. No rail service. OK, not the airport's fault, but it would be so much more awesome if I could take a train here. Instead, I need to train to a nearby station, then bus here... or drive. Not a fan, but a little investment could make Ciampino a jewel of an airport!

Small airport, used more for going to smaller cities and nearby countries while in Rome. It's best to come with an overnight bag, hand carry bag or backpack to avoid waiting in line.

Get in and out of this airport quickly. No need to give extra time, Ciampino is tiny. There's a little duty free area and a Caffè and waffle place but not much else. If you're strapped for how to get here from Rome, the easiest way is to get a taxi. Flag down any white official taxi inside Rome and they will drop you off at the airport for €30 fixed price. If you're short on time this is absolutely the only option as the various coach services are pretty abysmal in terms of consistency.

Every shop opens only at 5am. So if u have an early morning flight then you don't have shops to get snacks. There r a couple of vending machines that is your your rescue. There is a coffee machine in terminal A that's good if you r looking for coffee

This is probably one of the worst, if not, THE WROST airport I have traveled to. We arrived late at night due to our flight being at the crack of dawn and the buses stopped running after a certain hour... We arrived at the airport and two hours later, they kicked us out saying part of the airport was closing and they wanted us to move to the other side of the airport. So then, we move and about an hour later THEY KICK EVERYONE OUT ONCE AGAIN saying that wing was closing as well and that we would have to wait outside until the airport reopened!! We waited over 2 hours sitting outside on the sidewalk like dogs. Try to avoid flying into this airport if possible! Worst staff and facility.

If you are not a local, DO NOT book any budget airlines such as Ryan Air to come to this airport unless you plan on going straight to Roma Termini on the bus for 5 euros. If you are a late night arrival, DO NOT book this airport either unless you've hired your own personal chauffeur or taking the bus. This small airport is in the outskirts of Rome. Do not even book a local hotel in Ciampino. You can't get there unless you walk. Nothing against the service of CIA or its employees but the taxi system sucks due to what happened a few hours ago as this problem affects the foreign travelers who aren't aware of this. My friend and I booked a flight arriving at approximately 11 pm at Ciampino and planned on taking a taxi to our nearby hotel. There was a long ass line waiting for the taxi and barely one taxi showed up to the taxi curb. There was however, about 3 to 4 taxis waiting out by the parking lot pick up about 100 feet away (3-4 coming and going constantly) but only took routes by those willing to pay more than the listed/regulated price posted on the taxi. When we showed the taxi driver (parked in the back) the address to our hotel about 5 minutes away, he said go to the taxi line. Yeah we waited for about 15 minutes earlier with only one driver going through the cab lane and probably 50 people waiting. I noticed the cab driver who did pick up in the taxi lane had to swipe some sort of ID card to get through the gated lane so it's monitored. There were more taxi cars going in and out at the back. So, by 11:30 pm, my friend and I decided to ditch our Ciampino hotel and just go straight to Fiumicino (FCO) airport because we had to catch a 9 am flight and we would probably run into the same problem in the morning. It was going to cost us either way. We approached that same cab driver and asked how much for a ride to FCO and he said 60 Euros. I questioned the rate listed in the car, 48 euros and he said that's the price from the city center (Rome) to FCO. I told him FCO is closer to CIA compared to the city center, why would it cost more? So he just kept repeating that's the price. Obviously most of these taxi drivers all got together and coordinated this to force people to pay more than the regulated price. The solution? Even though we didn't need to go to Roma Termini, we paid the 4.90 euros and took the big clean tour bus just to get out of CIA. There was no way we would've made it to our hotel since no taxi was willing to show up nor Uber in this dead area. We were willing to go to some coffee shop or restaurant in the city to wait out the dark hours til the buses and trains were open again than to pay that dirt bag of a taxi driver the 60 Euros. To top it off, he did look like a cheating dirt bag. In conclusion, how the hell did I have the time to write this long review, because it's been 6 hours since this fiasco happened and I've been awake the whole time. It's 5 am and I'm still waiting at FCO til my 9:20 am flight home to Los Angeles. It would've been nice to have been able to sleep in the Ciampino hotel that was already paid for but since no taxi will show up for it, it's not even worth ever flying RyanAir and end up in Rome Ciampino for this bull.

Small airport easy to navigate. Here is the restaurant before you go security first time I ever went through security and I was the only person in line. This is a very small regional airport we had to walk on the tarmac to get to the plane. Ryan Air out of this airport and it was just fine. They are also charging stations andduty free shop in the intl terminal.

We flew in and out of here for our Italy tour. It is a bit crowded and not very air conditioned. Going through customs was not too bad either. It had a few restaurants but not a lot. Overall an ok airport.

Simple but fast check in and fast to the gate. The check in at Ryanair smooth and very courteous. The security friendly but strict. You can find anything you want to drink or eat. The duty free is anything but duty free. The high street prices are lower.

If you're flying from Ciampino, you probably booked off Ryanair or another ad-filled website that sells plane tickets for convenient yet dangerously low prices. Thankfully, you don't have to leave the city nor spend more than 5 euro of public transportation to get there. There aren't any shops inside to tempt you either. The entire airport is made of 2 rooms: one for checking in and the other for gates. The terminal does not have any structured lines. This creates a huge mess before boarding, as people are huddled together trying to squeeze through the tunnel of the gate checkpoint. I felt like I was in a breadline of hippies. You will be uncomfortable but these are lines all'italiana, so enjoy the cultural experience.

This airport, even if it's smaller than Rome Fiumicino, is closer to the city center! Don't expect a big shopping center inside, but there is all you can need for your travel or your waiting there :) If you wanna get to the city, don't use terravision: I recommend you to use public transportation.

Rome's Ciampino airport is the airport for budget airlines like Ryanair. The airport itself is simple & small. I was flying Ryanair that day & didn't have time to fix my things the night before. When flying Ryanair, it's important to make sure that all your stuff is balanced & that your carry-on & checked luggage are both the correct weight & dimensions. I'd done my research & knew exactly which carry-on to use: the pink 1 with the princess ribbons. No but seriously, Ryanair horror stories really are a thing. Many have been penalized for seemingly trivial things like slightly overstuffing their carry-on or using a bag that's an inch or 2 bigger than Ryanair's preferred size, or using 1 that's made of some soft material (since this stretches the bag a few additional inches). Your carry-on will need to fit into the luggage size checker thing that sits at the beginning of the line dividers. My carry-on turned out to be about a kg. too heavy, but the guy let it slide. I got lucky. And then there was the order issue..or lack thereof..at the gates. There were a ton of people that day, & while there were gates that showed different destinations, there was only 1 loooOooOooOooong line..like in US restrooms. I wasn't sure if I should be lining up there or what, but I stood around for a bit & asked a few people if they were also going to BCN, & all of them said no. It was all kind of messy & disorienting - or at least it was to me, since I'd never encountered anything like this before. There were others that were still sitting down, but I was afraid that I'd missed my flight (happened once, flying from Vegas to DC). I started to freak & wanted to scream (lol), but just stood in front of my gate & they eventually started letting people through. Guess that's just how they do things there. If I'm on a tight budget, I wouldn't mind going through CIA again.. If you're familiar with the layout & get there early, there shouldn't be anything to worry about. If I can help it though, I think I'd really rather go through FCO (Fiumicino). It's just nicer overall..& it's nice seeing the drivers in their snazzy suits :)

I was supposed to fly into Fiumicino International Airport, but the recent fires prevented that from happening. Ciampino is one of those small airports where you have to take shuttles to your airplane in order to board. I was flying to and from Paris for a four-day Rome vacation. When arriving to the airport, I visited the information desk in order to find details on how to get to Termini. But the staff at the desk was extremely rude. I asked her how to get there and she said to look in the guidebook. Not even trying to help me find the details. After I searched and found the details myself, I went back and asked her how to find the train station to Termin that was said in the guidebook and she pointed me in a direction where it made me feel like I had my head chopped off in a henhouse. I was running around to find the bus stop for the shuttle to the train station and I couldn't find anything. So, I ended up taking a privately owned bus company that took us straight to the city. The fare was affordable, 4 euros per person. The airport has a small food court and small stores that sell the stuff that you would see at a traditional international airport: magazines, books, headphones, souvenirs. Nothing is a chain store though. It's mostly just small businesses. They also have a duty free store here as well that sells alcohol, makeups, fragrances, food, etc. Would I want to come back to this airport? Not really. But if I'm forced to come back here, then I will know what to expect.

This particular airport mostly tailors to low budget airlines, such as Ryanair. There are many different bus transfer companies, such as Terravision, TAM, SIT, etc. These are some of the cheapest options to get you from the airport to Termini train station or vice versa. Other airport transfer options are by taxi (about €40 for one way) or a private airport transfer which would cost about the same or maybe even more (depending on how many people are in your group). The airport is very tiny. There was a cafe, pizza shop and duty free shop in the departures area but all these places were really small. That's about it. I arrived about 3 hrs before my flight and walked around for 30-45 minutes through everything. There's no wifi connection as well. There are outlets to charge your electronics, but it can get filled up quickly (maybe bring a power strip outlet to maximize the outlet usage) In the arrivals area, there are different bus transfer services where you can buy a bus ticket. Different bus services offer different prices (I have only tried Terravision for €4 one way). There was a Moka coffee shop where I had their cappuccino for a decent price. They also sold a variety so baked goods, but I didn't try any. Overall, this is a VERY tiny airport. There is barely anything to do. I would bring a book or download something to watch while you kill time.

Taking a flight here reminds me of entering a bus station in the 80s. This is full of backpackers often sleeping on the floor and waiting for checkin counters to open their flights (especially in the morning). This is probably the result of low cost airline Ryanair flying here. I came here a few times while Easyjet was still operating here. It has no train service to Rome so it is not very convenient. I had to bring back my rental car early (the rental counter was not open yet) so it was not clear how to leave the car either. Fly only here if you have no alternatives.

Average airport, security was fast though. There aren't a lot of places to sit inside while waiting for the gate, but there are plenty of food and shopping options around. No plug outlets, Internet is a bit slow, but other than that, okay airport. It's the closest one to the city center of Rome, and it's convenient/easy to get to with all the busses that are available.

One star because it is closer to the city centre - other than that, this review is going to go downhill really fast. The worse customer service (I use that loosely). -No communication either phone, text or walk up & tap me on the shoulder to say 'Your flight is going to be delayed more than 3hrs (true story) and here is a food/drink voucher (from your ariline). Oh, actually no you will just have to starve until you get back to the UK tonight!' -No communication as I stood with the multitudes waiting to get through the departure security (over 3hrs) to say 'By the way, you're about to be diverted but we're going to keep that a secret along with any other information you will need like we aren't going to transfer your bag to the diverted airport' -No communication as we were taken by shuttle bus from departures (when we finally were permitted through) back to arrivals. To our confusion, no on saying anything as we explained we are departing customers not arriving. Just the driver of the shuttle pointing to us to go inside the building. Why? Where are we going? Where is the ground staff of our airline or the aiport to guide us? Nowhere!! -No communication or visible ground staff as we all stood outside the arrivals entrance looking angry and confused, wondering which way to go? Wondering where to go? Wondering where is anyone from the airport or airline? -No communication to the diverted airport; when I arrived and tried to go through security was told I could not because I was in the wrong airport. Another 15mins later, the diverted airport decides to call Ciampino only to be told the ridiculous situation. Permitted through security. -No communication when arriving at the gate of departure at the diverted airport that there was going to be another 20min delay. How the h*ll does fog prevent a flight from leaving Ciampino but not Fiumicino? It doesn't. Do not under any circumstance use Ciampino!!!

BEWARE: AVOID TRAVELLING WITH RYANAIR FROM CIAMPINO (SPANISH TRANSLATION BELOW) Looks like Ryanair has returned to their questionable previous practices. In my last flight from Ciampino to Madrid, the agents started "measuring" forcibly the hand luggage in a new "measuring device" (not the one they used before) and those that touched the measuring device in their way out were penalized and had to pay 50 euros. The fined suitcase I had used before several times while travelling with Ryanair. The funny thing is that another suitcase we were carrying with us complied with the measurements (I wasn't fined for it), but when they used as an example with the measuring device, it didn't come out easily. As they did with me, they fined some other people of the same flight. They use the urgency of boarding so you won't discuss the penalty due to the fear of missing the flight (the agent kept saying "you just have few minutes"). Although the suitcase was almost empty, they fined it for the size (under the Ryanair policy, weight is also something to take into account for fining but they didn't weight any luggage). When I said that said practice hadn't been used for ages, they said it is something they always do in every airport (I've lived abroad for several years and this hasn't been done in at least 3). Also, when I told her I wanted to submit a complain, she refused to give me her name. In my case, I recommend that, when traveling from Ciampino to Madrid, choose between Vueling, Allitalia, Iberia or AirEuropa. They also have routes to Rome and, taking into account the possibility of a fine, it will probably be cheaper. I've lived in Rome for a while and this is my first experience in Ciampino, an airport I will never use again. I strongly recommend travelling from Fiumicino or choosing another airline if you're not able to avoid Ciampino. CUIDADO: EVITAR COGER VUELOS CON RYANAIR DESDE CIAMPINO. Parece que Ryanair ha vuelto a sus cuestionables prácticas previas. En mi último vuelo desde Ciampino a Madrid, se dedicaron a meter a presión las maletas de mano en un nuevo "medidor" (no el que han usado siempre) y las que no salían sin tocar el medidor, pagaban 50 euros. La maleta multada la he utilizado en viajes previos con Ryanair sin multa alguna. Lo gracioso es que una de las maletas que llevábamos supuestamente mide lo correcto (no me multaron por ella), pero más tarde un agente la utilizó como ejemplo y no pasaba el control del medidor. Como a mi, multaron a más personas del mismo vuelo. Usaban la urgencia de embarcar para que pagaras por miedo a perder el vuelo (la agente presionaba diciendo "you just have few minutes"). Aunque la maleta fuera medio vacía, multaban por el tamaño (se supone que, al amparo de la política de Ryanair, el peso también debe tenerse en cuenta pero no se pararon a pesar ninguna). Cuando indiqué que esta práctica se había abandonado hace tiempo, la agente dijo que se hacía en todos los aeropuertos (llevo años viviendo fuera y no me lo han hecho en los últimos 3). Además, cuando indiqué que realizaría una reclamación, la agente se negó a darme su nombre. En mi caso, recomiendo que con vuelos a Madrid se viaje con Vueling, Allitalia, Iberia o AirEuropa, que también tienen vuelos a Roma y, teniendo en cuenta la posibilidad de multa con Ryanair, sale más barato. He vivido en Roma y esta es mi primera experiencia en Ciampino, aeropuerto que no volveré a utilizar. Recomiendo encarecidamente volar a Fiumicino o volar con otra aerolínea.

I was flying with the Ryanair airline, from Rome to Paris, and had to spend more than fifteen minutes now checking line, but after I got there they told me I was late and have to pay €50 for my ticket and extra money for bags. They have no signs to say or explain anything and that makes people very confused. I never seen anything like that in any other airlines. I have no interest to flight with this airline anymore, and would not recommend to anyone else :(

My experience is flying out of this airport, and, from my experience, this is probably one of my least favorite mainly for the lack of amenities. No newsstand since they are under going renovations, only 1 food/ drink option which is extremely limited and crowded, only two "gates"- nothing of which is in the gated area so do not up through visa check before getting food/drink. You don't even board from the gates. You get on a shuttle that takes you to the aircraft and then you have to get onboard. I'm used to the latter half since that's RyanAir, but the whole shuttle process and boarding took over an hour- ridiculous! Only one set of bathrooms on lower level too. Security moved quite fast and was the most lax I've experienced yet-did not have to remove my Fitbit and no shoe removal (standard in Europe anyways ). RyanAir and some other discount airline are the only two flying out of here. Taxis from Rome are 30 euro flat fee.

Ok, fair warning the taxi stand at the arrivals is completely corrupt. They were not putting people in cabs and we're storing different people different fares even though it's printed right on the side of every ca canthat it costs 30 euros into the city. They quoted us 70.when w refused and went inside to get a bus, the lady confirmed they were running their racket and said if we wanted to pay the correct fare we'd have to cafe callthe police. She said what I saw was not supposed to bed happening buy it does all the time.

Y'all if I could give 0 stars I would. First off side note there is absolutely no public transportation open early enough for me and my friend to get on our 6:30am flight on time so we had to come the night before bc there wasn't any other way of us getting here. The airport is closed until I'm assuming 4-4:30am so everyone just sleeps outside in the cold waiting for the airport to open. Just laying on the cement all night freezing out asses off. Haven't even gotten inside yet so I'll update y'all if this airport is some kind of heavens asshole inside but right now it's shit.

All car rental companies are located in a building half a mile from Arrivals. Luckily, there is a free shuttle bus service taking you there (the stop is right outside the terminal)

This is one of the out of town airports and as such it is quite small. Security was actually a breeze, which is the first time in a foreign country I've found it hassle free. There is a small duty free shop and a cafe and pizza shop, that's pretty much it. Once through to the departure lounges be warned though that the only sustenance you'll find comes in the form of vending machines.

Rome Ciampino airport is designed for low cost airlines and so expectations should be based on this. We flew with Ryanair back to Liverpool on our latest visit and the airport was much busier this time. Check-in queues were long but have seen a lot worse, the same was true for security and boarding. As with other low cost airline airports food/drink facilities are limited but OK if just looking for quick drink and snack-eat before if looking for something more substantial or a pleasant dining experience. While I can't rate this as average due to the lack of facilities and queues I have seen worse and this included the inbound experience into Rome at Leonardo da Vinci International Airport. We took a taxi here from Sheraton Roma Hotel in the EUR Magliana are and this was about 25 Euros which is worth the extra compared to the bus services. I guess the same would be true if travelling to/from Rome City Centre unless you happen to e staying near one of the train stations along the route into the city.

Tiny airport with no real restaurant options. Once you go through the passport check there is zero food or drinks available. There's no sign telling you this, so if you go through you're trapped until your flight, border control won't let you back through.

Rome Ciampino airport is the closest to rome city airport, located the south of rome city centre rome ciampino offers great access to the city via public transport, there are bus links direct and indirect to the city centre, and the underground is linked in with the bus services. Rome Ciampino airport is mainly filled with low cost carriers, Ryanair and Easyjet to name two, offering flights across europe. Ciampino airport is rather small, and the number of flights have grown significantly over the last few years. Ive been to the airport twice, the first in 2004 and the airport was very quiet, however my last visit in 2008 was different, theres been exetensions to departures, and more check in areas but the place is a nightmare! you have to force yur way through most of it unless you want to miss your flight home.
