Gips is a great place for a nice dinner. The service was great tonight, all the young men who served us at different times were knowledgeable and friendly, offering suggestions and not being pushy about anything. The atmosphere is quiet and elegant, makes for a very relaxing and intimate setting. The food is very delicious but is on the pricey side, there isn't a huge range but there should be something to suit everyone. The drinks menu is extensive, they offer a large range of wines and a decent selection of other drinks too. Looking forward to my next visit!

Had a great night out. The Baramundi was THE best I've had EVER. Great venue with lovely gardens. Very professional and friendly staff.

We had our engagement party at Gip’s on the weekend and the service was amazing! From Kellie organising the event to Lucille’s kind and helpful nature on the day - the team is just wonderful. Highly recommend you host your event here. It was very easy for us and exactly what we wanted.

A consistently high quality dining experience. Gips has become my wife's and my favourite "date night" restaurant. In our experience the staff have always been friendly and helpful; the gentleman behind the bar is very knowledgeable and knows the perfect drink pairings for each meal; and the chef continues to exceed our expectations. We have very particular, some might say finicky, dietary requirements but the chef has continued to create superb alternate gourmet meals which never feel lacking in quality or content. Which brings me to the food itself. While I'm still a bit green to the world of fine dining, I can say that each meal on the menu is unique and superbly paired with a range of vegetables, spices, and condiments that always leave a smile on our faces. While you shouldn't expect to pay pub meal prices, you may also be surprised with how much you get for the price, although don't expect to pay any less than $60 per person for a main meal and accompanying drink. The dining experience inside is intimate and relatively comfortable, and the local art on display lends an upper-market feel to the place. The alfresco area is typically noisier as events are regularly held on the premises so try to book on days where no events are being held if you prefer a quieter environment. The bathroom could do with a refurbish and timber chairs would benefit from some cushioning but I'm straining to find further constructive criticism now. Overall, a fine dining experience which consistently leaves us feeling well-valued, well-fed and like our money was well-spent.

I really didn’t want to leave a bad review… but it was honestly a poor experience for our first time. Went last night… was sat down by the polite gentleman at the front… when doing orders our drinks took around 30mins to come out… my husband ordered a scotch and coke and was given scotch on the rocks… we choose a $13 scotch but charged $18 for each one. To get the coke took another 10-15mins as we had to ask 2 different people. Our entree came out after 1hour from arrival. To get a second scotch for my husband was also hard. But yet was served on the rocks even tho we asked for Scotch and coke both times. The tenderloin was well cooked but very much under seasoned inc the sides. The seafood ravioli was to die for. I don’t mind spending $200 on a special evening out if the service matches the 5* promise. Sorry tips you missed the mark especially when our server apologised and said “we are super busy tonight” yet there were empty tables, heaps of staff… it really just seemed like no communication happens between the staff.

Quite a nice fine dining restaurant residing in an old building with a lot of character. The food has been consistently good and the service up to a high standard. We also had our end of the year function here and it was arranged really well with an American food theme with all the staff in costumes and the food was very cleverly prepared.

I just finished up my wedding at Gips- Clifford house- and honestly I’m still on cloud 9!! We planned this wedding on a sort timeline of 5 months and the team have been absolutely amazing from the get go, and last night they blew it out of the water. I could not have asked for a better night or for it to go any smoother. We had approx 95 guests including 10 kids, a 2 hour cocktail hour in their lovely garden space with the reception in the beautiful ‘James Taylor room’. Kellie was brilliant with helping me land on the correct floor plan to work with my desires, plus alcohol & food selections with Lucille executing the night brilliantly- we can not rate them highly enough. The attention to detail and hard work Lucille put in on the night was like a had a second mum taking care of all my potential stresses before they occurred. Now the FOOD!! Our guests were raving it about for hours, the steak, fish, pork belly, all top quality- not diminished at all by serving to an event in bulk. I have no doubt it would have been the same if i had 200 guests. This team clearly pride themselves on their food!! If you are looking for an event venue that cares with a family vibe- Gips is certainly one to put on the list. Thank you so much team

The place looks nice. Food? Some are OK, some are not. It is well presented to be fair. It’s pricey for what you are getting. The service was not good either. We asked the server about the food/drinks and she just said “Oh I don’t Know”. Two of the waiters we asked doesn’t seem to know what they’re serving and not knowing what they are doing. Honestly it’s not what I expected. All in all not the best experience.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in town. The food was amazing, I had a smoke salmon main with an apple crumble desert. Would differently go back. Not sure one price as my meal was a work expensive, which makes the meal even better.

Yelp
Valentine's dinner... It was a set menu, good choices, but poor execution. I had the scallop entre, and there was one lonely scallop with a horrible textural crumb, and fatty gelatin base. The barramundi main was nice, besides the potato with pink grapefruit pulp mixed in. Potatoes and pink grapefruit? Yup! Tastes about as good as you imagine - disgusting. The potatoes were also infused with some bitterness that I couldn't place. Some misplaced micro herb. The dessert was a saving grace! Mint chocolate ice cream, raspberry purée, macaron, and chocolate truffle-thingy. We didn't get the jellies that we were meant to, but the espresso was nice. The service was a little here and there. I had to flag someone down to order a glass of wine. We sat with our dirty dishes for far too long before being cleared, but this isn't usual for Gip's. The food and service are usually fab, but on Valentine's Day, they tried to be different and they missed the mark...

Yelp
Gips deserves a 5 Star Rating! The ease of making a reservation on line was so easy , we were able to request somewhere warm and intimate! The whole reservation process was very simple, clear and easy to understand with instant confirmation! Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm friendly Staff member and seated in an area we requested The food menu is Simple but what I would class as by well thought out covering all tastes and ages ! The Staff were very knowledgable and passionate about the food served and the Food quality and taste , presentation was amazing , all with very generous serves of everything ranging from tasting plates to mains and sides and deserts My only criticism would be the range of wine available by the Glass as opposed to buying a bottle but aside that this restaurant is perfect Highly recommended!

Yelp
I visited this place twice as well - once in the cafe as a guest, and the other as part of the bridal party for a wedding. The first time was simply in the cafe for a coffee - I had a macchiato, which was full bodied as expected and could not be faulted. As far as wedding venues goes, it's a small room, but the food that came out was absolutely wonderful. The chicken dish served in the wedding was out of this world as far as wedding meals go - especially for the size of it. It was a bit stuffy in the room, but we managed to get the doors opened to allow for some airflow.

Yelp
My Hubby and I dine here on whenever we get a chance and on special occasions. It is by far our favourite restaurant in The greater Toowoomba area, rivalling even the best in Brisbane. Very much worth while. A bit more expensive than a lot of other places but worth every cent. Frequent menu updates as well as a diverse and unique selection. Very nice ambient dining atmosphere and the staff have always been pleasant.
