...this place...it took me a decade to find...I felt like I drove to a stranded location when my GPS in my car told me I have arrived. In my head, I thought my GPS was EFFING with me because I didn't see a sign that says "GIRAFFE RAMEN" the only thing I passed by was a weird/dark color looking garage thingamabob. I'm thinking, is my car GPS taking me to a serial killers hide out? My GPS probably hates me by now anyways cause I overuse it's system to the max especially to locate for something to eat. It's saying "time for her to go." I'm seriously not joking...but in the end I did end up going into this dark color looking like garage place. Since my GPS insists it's in there, I was like WELL...(insert Criminal Mind's eerie theme song) I had no choice It's actually home to several mom and pop restaurants. They actually call this place GHOST KITCHEN'S. Well that explains it, right? Even the outside looks like a ghost inhibit like type of deal. The exterior is literally black. Now, you see why I said serial killer hideout, right? Hahaha, well I survived, it's ok, let's breathe. So, as I approached this eerie, looking like, dark color garage building, I was told by a Jamaican guy "You are at the right place. Food is all good GO IN" It made me think, "Ok, whew. I actually did think I wasn't going to make it today." Naw, I'm kidding. The guy actually made me felt more safe, cause I now know for sure I'm going to get some food in my stomach. Rule number one, never judge a place by it's cover right?
Inside was some girls in the front that helped me out. I asked one of them where do I order and she directed me to these mini ipad machines to the right side. Apparently, this is home to several different mom/pop/ghost kitchen's. Whatever you want to call it.
Here is a small list, and I will get straight to my food after this: Hint my ramen was bomb.com!
-Hippo Poke
-Red Dragon
-White Elephant
It seems like every restaurant has an animal name, LOL!
Food took about 20 minutes to get to me. They however forgot to text me when my order was ready to be picked up in the front desk. This was the only thing I didn't like. I know I remember to put right phone number to text. I was wondering it's been almost 45 minutes, why is my food taking so long? I had to go to the front desk and asked if it was ready yet. The girl told me it was ready 20 minutes ago, and she apologized which was good.
For my order at Giraffe Ramen, I got the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. Basically, spicy pork. Despite the fact that I had a hard time finding this place, the food was 100 well-worth it! The ramen was slurping material. The ramen noodles were on a little on the thicker side, which is a plus to me. I know for sure they weren't using instant ramen packages that you get from the store. The pork slices were pretty tender and a little fatty, which I absolutely savor ever last bite of them. They had such a great flavor in the meat as well. The broth was also super good. The broth had a strong spicy/pork aromatic smell to it. Super enticing. However, I have to knock a star down because they didn't give enough soup. The ramen noodles were hitting the top, and the soup wasn't even half way filling the bowl. It's a big no-no for me because I love drinking the broth on a soup while slurping up the noodles. That was the only downside, but overall it was such an scrumptious bowl of noodles. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area again.
Don't worry folks, no crazy human living here. Just some good ole food restaurants in one small dark/weird looking like garage. Definitely give Giraffe Ramen a try. The ramen is fantastic!
Parking is not a problem. They have a medium size parking garage at the end of the garage looking like building.
Happy Eating!
