Girimsa Temple

Such a peaceful place. Recommend taking the walk out to the waterfall. Relatively easy walk (40-minute round trip)

A hidden gem. Some very nice temple buildings and several good collections of Buddhas. Definitely recommend visiting this temple and Golgulsa if you're already driving to Bulguksa.

We entered the Girimsa temple complex after walking a bit from the forest. When we got there, there was little visitor and it was lovely to walk here with these beautiful flowers and bamboo trees along the beautiful plains of the mountain. Girimsa is a very old architecturally decorated Buddhist temple located in Southeast Gyeongju. It is very clean and empty space, some national treasures are kept here. If you are a temple lover then this is one of the most beautiful places for you. Highly recommend place for local , nature lover and spiritual person.

For now it seems so peaceful, such a sanctuary, I found peace and time , nature is everywhere, I took a deep breath and let myself be absorbed by the surroundings.

We had a chance to have tea with a monk. The tea was grown and made by the monks there. It was a beautiful experience, quite peaceful.

There are not only Bulguksa in Gyeongju. There are many great temples like Girimsa Temple, so if you come to Gyeongju, it would be good to visit other places, not just famous places.

Lovely little temple, which many koreans use to get away from the hectic city lifestyle. Interesting ceremonies, and sleeping on the floor made a 05:45 rise a breeze. The food was vegetarian, and the mushroom soup was delicious. Pumpkin porridge for breakfast. (I'm a carnivore)

Quite peaceful and not as busy as nearby Bulguksa temple. We would recommend to visit late when the sun is setting and most visitors are gone.
