We had an absolutely delightful three-day stay at Girithale Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, always going the extra mile to ensure our comfort. I must give special mention to Manjula, who continuously checked in on our well-being, making us feel truly valued throughout our stay. The level of service and attention to detail exceeded our expectations, making this trip unforgettable. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a warm, welcoming experience!

We loved this, others in our party were less impressed - the consensus was that we were lucky with the room allocation. |What is undeniable is the view from the terrace - a great place to sit and watch the Sun go down nursing a beer. |The restaurant is less impressive- very busy, usual buffet ( though finding chicken in a basket on the menu made us chuckle) feels like a canteen. Thought the staff were friendly and attentive

Excellent service-from the wait staff to check-in to cleaning everyone was so helpful and friendly. Beautiful views. Clean pool and rooms. Food was excellent and home cooked with a good variety of traditional and western dishes. No ask was too big everyone was happy to help. Lovely stay in a central location.

We stayed in Giritale hotel on full board basis. The staff were cordial and welcoming. They looked into meeting all our needs. The food was excellent. The place was very clean. The lake view and the surroundings were great. We look forward to visit the hotel again.

The rooms are well-maintained, comfortable, and equipped with all the necessary facilities for a pleasant stay. The buffet was a highlight of our visit! It offered a wide variety of delicious dishes, catering to different tastes. A special mention goes to Indrani, who prepared the most amazing egg hoppers for breakfast—an absolute treat that made the mornings extra special. The swimming pool was clean and inviting, adding another layer of enjoyment to our stay. For everything the hotel offers, it’s excellent value for money. Overall, Girithale Hotel is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to relax amidst natural beauty, enjoy good food, and experience warm hospitality. Highly recommended!

This is a great value, beautifully located, 3-star hotel with plenty of charm. The facilities are comfortable (rooms are spacious, views are superb, lots of choice on the menu, pool is nicely located) and the staff are exceptional. The front house staff at the reception are extremely helpful and friendly, all waiters are attentive. The breakfast buffet was diverse, we had many hoppers and some savoury curries. We liked the pieceful and serene location and animal viewing from the Terrace. Great location to explore the national parks and archaeological ruins nearby. Thank you to all the attentive staff!

This hotel might have been a luxury destination before the 2000s, but the facilities haven’t improved much since then. The standard room we stayed in, with its basic amenities, was quite small, including the washroom. While many areas of the hotel look old and in need of repair, the place is kept clean. The restaurant offers a standard buffet or set meals, but the food is quite ordinary and lacks anything noteworthy. On the positive side, the staff provides good service, and the view of Girithale Lake is stunning and perhaps the highlight of the stay. Unfortunately, considering the outdated facilities, average food, and the price charged, it doesn’t feel like good value for money.
