I debated posting this review, however after my most recent experience, including having my last message ignored and then being blocked on social media, I feel it’s important to share so others can make an informed shopping decision.
Over several visits, I’ve consistently felt an unwelcoming atmosphere from both the owner and staff. Friends who have visited with me have also had a similar impression. Whether intentional or not, the interactions often come across as cold rather than friendly or customer focused.
Most recently, I noticed a 10% discount advertised on their website for email sign-ups. When I reached out to ask about the code, I was told the promotion was no longer active and that it had been “annoying” to manage when it was offered. Since the promotion was still visible on their site, I felt it would have been reasonable to honour it and then remove it. Instead, the response came across as irritated that I even asked. I replied politely and let them know I would look elsewhere (after which I was blocked).
I fully understand that small businesses are much more mindful of their margins. My choice not to purchase wasn’t about the money (I’ve bought several items here previously) but about the overall customer service experience. The products here are very nice, and I genuinely enjoy supporting local, but I won’t continue to shop somewhere I feel uncomfortable or unwelcome.
Based on other reviews and some of the responses, it seems I’m not alone in my experience. I hope the owner can reflect on this feedback and make positive changes for future and returning customers.
