Girl on the Go is a small, beautifully decorated spa. I came by for a massage. In the email I received after booking my appointment online it said to arrive early for two reasons. One, parking can be difficult, and two, to enjoy a glass of wine or water before my massage. Parking wasn't as bad as I had anticipated. I circled the block around the spa a couple times before finding parking on E Street. Finding the entrance to the spa is a little tricky. You'll see the sign right outside of the building. Just following it back through the walkway past the salon and the picnic table, and you'll see the spa in front of you on your right. Upon arrival, the receptionist was on the phone booking a doctor's appointment for someone else. She didn't greet me or ask me to wait. I wondered around while she finished her call looking at the items the spa sells (cards, clothes, make up, accessories). She then checked me in and I sat on the couch and waited. I arrived 15 minutes early and was only offered water with or without grapefruit. I opted for the grapefruit water. I wasn't offered wine which is sad, because the email promised it, and I was looking forward to it. There was an unopened, not chilled bottle of Korbel on the drink cart, but I wasn't offered that.
The massage itself was just fine. I asked for more pressure once during the massage and I kind of got it. Additionally, I am still a bit confused on how the timing of 90 minute massages work here. So, that's what I booked and while the massage therapist got me from the waiting room at the exact minute my massage was schedule, we spent a few minutes talking about my concerns before I got undressed and we began. However, we finished exactly at 90 minutes after I was retrieved from the waiting room. So, here is my concern - does the 90 minutes include the 5 minutes it takes to chat with the therapist and get ready? From my previous massage experience at other places it never has. Was I robbed of 5 minutes that I paid for? I still honestly don't know. The prices here are pretty reasonable ($115 for a 90 minute massage), so perhaps I don't really care. I guess if anything, I just found it peculiar.
