GIRLFRIENDS TAPHOUSE

I’ve heard lots of great things, so I came here with a coworker one evening to give them a try… They weren’t very busy on a weeknight, rather dead with maybe only 10 others inside. Service was great! Our server, Abigail was very helpful, friendly, and attentive. We basically told her we wanted wings and burgers and asked her for her suggestions. She suggested their BBQ wings, so we got them – They were very tasty! Were they “jumbo” as the menu suggests? Kinda… the drum was, but the flat was basic. The flavor of the BBQ sauce on them was great tho! She also suggested the Girlfriend Burger with a side of their red potatoes – so we got these too. The burgers were great! Meat was cooked perfectly, not overdone and the size of the meat was pretty nice too. The sauce, lettuce, and cheese came together very nicely on it – definitely loved it! The bun was toasted nicely too. I’d definitely return!

Girlfriend’s Taphouse has wonderful food and amazing staff. This place had a relaxing feel. My husband and I tried their well drinks which were average. I tried the Reuben Burger and waffle fries and it was very fresh and seasoned nice. My husband enjoyed their barbecue sandwich which he raved over. Next time that we visit, we will try the beers which they appear to have a good selection.

I would give 4.5 based on my first experience. My husband and I are foodies so Stafford has not impressed us and we usually travel north or south for good food. However, we thought we’d try Girlfriends since we didn’t feel like traveling. It was Sunday afternoon, the service was fine but the food was a bit slow, tasted fresh though and came out hot. We ordered Reuben potato skins because that’s unusual and they were pretty good. My husband got a smash burger which was good and the waffle fries were well seasoned. The grilled drunken shrimp were also pretty good, and as part of my meal, offered a lot even though it was an appetizer. We also ordered a side of hush puppies which were plentiful. I think a little too fried but they were fresh and hot. I also ordered a Bloody Mary which was tasty. They have the windows covered so you can’t see outside and I appreciate that because you’d be staring at Walmart parking lot or the street. I would suggest in the future they get some lattice privacy fences up so you can sit outside without again, having to stare at Walmart. Overall, we will come again when we want to go out but don’t feel like driving 20-30 min. I

1–2 stars. Good service, but the food was very disappointing. The service was actually good and the appetizer(crab dip) we ordered was very good. The staff was polite and handled an issue professionally, which I appreciated. I ordered a ribeye medium rare, but it came out well done. You could immediately tell by the color and how firm the steak was. The staff was nice about it and refunded the steak without any issue. My wife ordered the crab cake meal for $38 (three crab cakes). The flavor was decent at first bite, but the texture was extremely doughy and pasty. They stuck to the roof of your mouth and the crab meat seemed overly processed, almost like it had been blended instead of having the lump texture you expect from a quality crab cake. At that price point, you should be getting a premium crab cake. The coleslaw side was also extremely watery, almost like a coleslaw soup. We’re not picky eaters at all, but the quality of the food was unacceptable for the price. While the service was good and they handled the steak issue professionally, the overall meal was very disappointing and unfortunately we won’t be returning.

Excellent food! Staff is also awesome! Ask for Carlie. She’s a great bartender! I haven’t had any food that I didn’t like (disclaimer: I haven’t had everything yet but I am trying). Had a few drinks tonight. A lot of beer on tap which is great!

03/28/25 first day open was amazing! Sauces complimented the food perfect. Crab bites were my favorite; I could’ve ordered 3 to myself. My wife ordered the steak skewers cooked medium and she already wants to go back tomorrow for more. Great job Girlfriends we will be back soon.

REALLY GREAT FOOD and excellent atmosphere!!! I don’t write reviews often but I had such a fantastic time with my family. We ordered the maple bacon porterhouse steak, chicken caprese pasta, crab bites and gf sub. I especially loved the steak and would recommend anyone to try it at least once in their lifetime. It was cooked to perfection and the flavor was absolutely amazing especially with the bacon. The crab bites were really delicious too. They tasted very fresh and the sauces complimented it very well. I can’t wait to come back for more!

I really wanted to like Girlfriend’s Taphouse, but unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing from the moment we walked in. My family stood at the front door for over 3 minutes while the only visible waitress continued chatting with a group of guys at a table, completely ignoring us. The other waitress and bartender eventually came out from the back—laughing and talking—but still didn’t acknowledge us or make any effort to seat us. When we were finally approached, we were told we could sit wherever. The table we chose was dirty, and when my mother wiped it down with her hand, the waitress made no offer to clean it properly. That lack of attention to basic customer service was frustrating. While the food came out in a reasonable time and actually tasted pretty good, we were constantly bothered by fruit flies buzzing around us as we tried to eat—definitely not something you want during a meal. On a positive note, the waitress who eventually took care of us (the same one who was in the back at the start) did a solid job checking in and making sure we had what we needed. The interior looks much better than the old Patty’s Taphouse, but the poor service at the beginning of our visit soured the whole experience. It honestly felt like a group of young employees were left to run the place without any real supervision or leadership, and it showed. Sadly, I don’t plan to return anytime soon, which is unfortunate because I had high hopes for this place.
