Gîte de la Cascade

Wow wow wow The exquisite view takes your breath away and La Cascade only makes it better. The hospitality, authenticity and passion of the staff is truly felt in the energy of the resort and divine taste of the food. The animals are exotically interesting and look like they belong to the mountains, they are so happy and playful. Bruno is such a kind and deep soul with a philosophical mind. Eric has delighted us with such delicious meals, probably the best I’ve had this year. Thank you so much for our stay, I’m so excited to stay a couple more days and go walking to the waterfall nearby and explore your gorgeous scenery. I am so happy to be here. So blessed

After walking downhill from the village for quite a while we arrived at this lovely place. We wouldn't recommend walking there, but the stay was fantastic!||We were greeted very friendly and were surprised how many languages are spoken by the two kind guys living here. French, Englisch, German - not a problem.||The rooms weren't clinically clean, but very beautifully furnished. The water tasted great - no chlorine.||Dinner was very nice. The cook - Eric - showed us the delicious food and explained where he got the ingredients from and a little history of the food. Especially the melon-feta-salad was most delicious. And we would recommend to taste the aperitif wine (fruity wine). It was the best wine I have ever had.||Near the chambers is a pool and a lot of room for different outdoor activities. The dog and the two cats were well behaved and let me pet them :)||Thanks again to Bruno and Eric for the pleasant stay!

We had a very enjoyable stay here. The location is stunning, the room was very comfortable and the hosts Bruno and Eric extremely welcoming and great company. Eric is a really good cook and we had two great evening meals cooked by him. He was very happy to accommodate our request to not eat meat. His home -made jams at breakfast were a real treat too. Meals are communal if there are other guests staying, which we really enjoyed, but we equally enjoyed our first dinner chatting with Bruno and Eric. The home-made aperitifs and the guessing game was a fun start to each evening! The weather was not great when we were staying, but sitting and reading in the sitting room by the fire with an amazing view over the gorge and the company of Bruno, Eric , the dog and cats with opera music playing in the background was a pleasure in itself.||||We were sad to leave, but we really hope to come back to this special place.

What a discovery! Beautiful sceneries. Comfortable accomodation. Great hosts Bruno and Eric with 18 years of experience in hosting guests at la Cascade. Excellent meals prepared by Eric. A fantastic place to relax and enjoy nature. So, what are you waiting for?

We were welcomed in the afternoon by Eric who was already preparing for dinner. He took the time to show us the beautiful garden with pond, swimming pool and Petanque. We met Bruno in the evening when we joined for dinner. It does not take long to see that he just loves the contact with guests and likes to meet new people. There was a very hospitable ambiance and it was nice to connect with Eric, Bruno and the other guests. Pleasant aperitif, excellent cooking by Eric, lots of stories, humor and getting to know each other. My wife is pregnant and Eric took a lot of extra effort to adapt the dishes which is not easy so very much appreciated.||||The rooms are clean (with modern furnishing) and very quiet.||||La Cascade is situated in the Gorges du Loup area, nice to have a scenic drive or walk along the rivers. Within 1 hour drive: Grasse, Antibes, Nice, Monaco, etc. Do not hesitate to ask for advice, Eric and Bruno know the area very well. Also very nice to just relax in the garden, have a swim in the pool or play some petanque. ||||We stayed only 2 nights and joined the dinner (table d’hôtes) both evenings. Great experience and for sure not expensive. We wish we would have stayed the whole week. ||||Very much recommended! La Cascade will for sure welcome us back in the future.

Wonderful hosts Eric and Bruno have created a fantastic place to stay in the mountains. You feel like you're far away from everything and you can easily spend plenty of time hanging out at La Cascade relaxing, swimming in the pool, or playing patanque. But at the same time it makes a great base to explore nearby medieval villages and larger cities. Wonderful dinners cooked by Eric which are shared with he and Bruno as well as the other guests. Highly recommended!!

Everything was a happy discovery: the sublime landscape up the gorges du Loup, the comfortable accomodation, the communal dinners and breakfasts which were huge fun. and always interesting thanks to Bruno's humour, the really excellent food prepared by Eric (see separate review on that). "Boring" doesn't happen at La Cascade. We arrived a bit stressed and left in much happier spirits and calmer disposition (thanks as well to Ariane's massage). Our hosts (bilinguals)l always made sure that my English speaking husband was included in the conversation. And of course the autmn colours and the weather were glorious.

Let me start by saying the drive is worth the risk. Mountain roads aside, this place was wonderful. Bruno and Eric presented a feast that I will remember for a long time. The air was fresh, the room was clean and the breakfast was wonderful. It was nice to meet new people from various parts of the world also. I would highly recommend this place to stay if only for one night.
