Our stay was absolutely fabulous!! I think some of the people posting reviews are ones who are looking at the cabin like a hotel rather than as part of the Norwegian mountain association huts. It is by far the best mountain hut that we have ever stayed in. The bed was super cozy, the staff really friendly, the dinner super yummy and based on local foods. They have great cozy areas too. The views from these areas are stunning and in true Norwegian style they are super cozy with blankets and a fireplace. Have never seen a mountain hut quite like this!

We've been to many cabins during our hiking trips, and we were very positively surprised and very satisfied after our stay. It was clean, the rooms were great standard for being a mountain cabin like this, the food was amazing!! And the people working there was very helpful and super friendly. It is a mountain cabin and not a hotel, but it absolutely deserves great ratings!

Stayed in a shared dorm in July. Stayed the night before to do the Besseggen ridge hike the following morning. Convenient location to stay incase of hiking at the Jotunheimen national park. Beautiful location with stunning views of the mountains and the lake nearby. Really good service and loved the concept of dinner together with other people.

The most occupied hut in the rigion. And yet gives the needed comfort for the weary traveler. Some of the bunk beds has a unique hazardeus ledder. Spent three nights in three different conditions. The private room was very comfortable, but smelly. Greaaaaaaat diner. Suoerb breakfast. Supportive crew

Stayed here at the end of a hike across Jotunheimen. Mainly building is good, but we were sleeping in the Spyderhytte which was basic Alpine-style accommodation and you needed to go outside for the loo. ||Amazing showers in the main building though! (Very welcome after the tepid ones at Gjendesbu).||Good pizzas at lunchtime which were welcome as we had s very rainy day. ||Handy to have WiFi after 5 days offline to plan the rest of our trip.||Nice wee evening mini-concert by a local folk musician.

Absolutely delicious 3-course dinner with local produce of the highest quality! The stunning views, excellent service and mountain cabin setting only add to the experience! It's worth it even if you only stop there for dinner. At Gjendesheim they serve some of the best food I've ever had in Norway, including a Vegetarian option.

Fantastic service, great food and amazing location and scenery. The buidings are really old and a little bit smelly. Great with the drying room. Super nice staff. Close to the boat to Besseggen.

This is an excellent place to stay at in Jotunheimen National Park. The accommodations are a bit rustic which makes for a more authentic experience than staying in a modern hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding and you could eat as much as you wanted. One thing to note: this a DNT hut so you will need to bring your own linen and towels or rent them for an affordable price. It was no big deal I just wanted you to be aware.
