The Best Places to Go in Switzerland This Winter for Skiing, Wildlife, and Wellness | Condé Nast Traveler

"Perched high in the Swiss Alps and reachable from Gstaad by bus or cable car, Glacier 3000 is a comprehensive winter-sports complex offering skiing, dog sledding, mountain climbing, glacier hikes, and the gravity-defying Peak Walk by Tissot—a suspension bridge connecting two peaks." - Caitlin Morton

Went to Glacier 3000 with my parents last year and it was such a fun day. The cable car ride up is long but the views just get better and better the higher you go. At the top it’s proper snowy and windy, feels really dramatic and high up in the mountains. The best part is the Peak Walk bridge between two mountain peaks. Looks a bit scary in photos but once you’re on it, it’s solid and the views are insane, you can see all the big mountains around you on a clear day. We spent ages up there just taking pictures. There’s also a small café/restaurant where we grabbed hot chocolates and warmed up. Prices are a bit steep but that’s pretty normal in Switzerland. Staff were friendly and everything was very organised. It wasn’t too crowded when we went, which made it feel even more peaceful. Really cool experience overall, loads of photos, and a proper “wow” moment.

After doing some research I found Glacier 3000 and its flat long wide slopes that are good to learn, but to get to them the only possible path is to go down a red run or walk maybe 30min with the ski boots on and skis on hand. It also does not have a lot of variety of slopes, but you know that beforehand, views are amazing tho and it does have a really beautiful black run and the famous black wall. I would not personally recomend for the price if we compare with all the other amazing ski stations nearby.

For pedestrians is amazing experience but not for skiers. The lift systems are so bad. Beautiful but not practical. Lifts connections are too strange. Only pulling lifts at the top. Mixed with pedestrians and skiers make it slows and not efficient enough. Ending up waiting in the queue more than skiing.

Worth the 2 hour trip from Geneva. Spectacular views and experience. Decent cafe and shop on site too. Always check website before going, as the sky bridge or the cable cars may be closed due to wind / weather. Can be combined with visit to Montreux.

Loved it even in summer with full of snow and enjoyed walking and the bridge was critical for the photos. Fog kept covering the other end and had to wait to get a good pic. Going up was fun in the cable car 🚠

We visited the gondola and glacier walk in mid-October, and it was a blast—even without skiing! The gondola ride offered stunning views, and the glacier walk was peaceful and awe-inspiring. A perfect way to enjoy the mountains in autumn. Highly recommended!

Our experience was unexpected. We had a preplanned tour, and the weather ended up being horrible. Most attractions were shut BUT we were still able to go the tram and the bridge. It was terrifying and super fun.

Glacier 3000 was amazing. All the gandola ride was good. They have many activities there. I visited in mid of August, there was rarely any snow. The cliff walk was Amazing. Bit shaky. They have one restaurant on the top. Washrooms were clean. Cafe was bit pricey. The 360 degree view was amazing

Yelp
Dare to venture in the highest of heights with very fast winds and walk across a bridge to get to the highest point with the spectacular views 360 degrees. Very windy so super important to tighten scarves and any loose belongings as they will fly away. If not too balanced, holding on to rail will be helpful. If you don't want to get on to the bridge to avoid the extra fast and cold winds to get to the highest point, you may take the tram to the Galcier 3000 cafe for coffee. Beautiful experience!!
