Pros: This lodge is a lovely trip back in time. Large porches/verandas on each level encourage guests to mingle and enjoy the view. The lobby houses two restaurants and expansive seating and a fireplace. You can borrow puzzles and games from the front desk. There was a musician playing in the lobby one evening which created a lovely ambience. Historical photos are on display throughout. Service is welcoming and professional. Buffet breakfast is a good deal. Cons: The rooms do not have AC and this needs be advertised online so guests are aware. Most guests these days expect a climate controlled room. It was 80+ degrees when we stayed there. We were able to work around this by opening the windows in the evening to cool off the room, but it was not a fun surprise when we checked in at 10pm the first night. Yes there is a floor fan in the room, but the blades were covered in dust (who wants to blow dust all over their room). There are also no elevators in the building, again which needs to be made clear online, especially for those who are ADA. These are simple fixes management can make to their website so guest expectations are clear.

Let me start first with the staff they could not be nicer or more helpful. We were lucky enough to have Kyle as our bellhop who carried our luggage to the floor since they do not have an elevator. He was extremely friendly and pleasant to talk to. The room is small, but it’s old. The lodge itself is quite gorgeous. We have plenty to do from golf to volleyball to horseshoes and many other activities. In the room, there is very limited Internet, no TVs and no air conditioner, but with a cool nights it was not needed. There is also no coffee in the room, but there’s a coffee shop downstairs that makes a spectacular cup of coffee. From puzzles all around the place to music they don’t want you actually in your room. They want you to enjoy the lodge. For us that is perfect for others. It may not be. Great location spectacular Lodge fantastic people. What more could you ask for?

This hotel was so beautiful and well-maintained with modern updates while keeping the nostalgia and history alive within the property. Staff were all so friendly in every department. The dinner restaurant was well worth it with attentive service and beautifully presented food! We had a great time simply walking around the hotel and surrounding property and learning about the history. Even if you're not staying here for lodging, it is a must to stop by and see for a short while.

Great rustic feel! Beautiful views all around and very nice grounds. Room was basic but quite nice. Restaurant was pricey but delicious! Service was amazing throughout. Be prepared for lots of stairs though! Overall great stay

Spent three nights at the lodge in East Glacier and enjoyed our stay. It’s an older lodge with small rooms and sometimes creaky floors, no tvs and lower end room amenities or not at all like no coffee makers and fridges. Know that going in and have the right expectations, the rooms are good enough but not great. That said the lodge itself is beautiful, full of fellow travelers of what seemed like all ages mostly hanging out in large comfortable public areas full of places to sit and socialize or read or just people watch. The verandas are full of wood rocking chairs, interior spaces are chairs and couches and tables for puzzles and games. Each night had live music. Lunch at one restaurant was good, the breakfast buffet was even better. On site ice cream and snacks in a grab and go mini store was very nice. Things were on the expensive side but not ridiculously over priced. The Amtrak station is a longish walk or very short shuttle ride, maybe a few hundred yards away. We were up early and in the Two Medicine portion of the park each day by 7am with a rental car to hike most of the day, late lunches were at the lodge or restaurants in town, dinners were mostly in town and dessert or snacks at the lodge each night. Food trucks and one bowl restaurant in the tiny downtown area plus in-lodge dining options worked great. The young men and women working this place as seasonal work are terrific. They’re so friendly and engaging and work hard for you when you need something. They bring an energy that makes the whole place work.

Google
I did not stay at the lodge overnight, but I did have a FANTASTIC meal at the Empire Dining Lounge. Our server Emily was fantastic, and she went above and beyond to provide some of the best, kindest customer service of our entire trip. The views and the food are amazing. If you are staying in the area, I highly recommend stopping by here for a delicious bite to eat!

Google
Gorgeous location. Service staff is wonderful—mostly young, energetic, and eager to help. Historic building, which is a must-see true treasure. The 5 pm historic tour is informative about the building. I was not expecting modernity, and I really appreciate no TV, especially since we could have easily participated in the conversation in the next room. I’ve stayed in historic inns of the era that had much nicer in-room decor and appointments. Our bed made a cracking sound with every move. The shower was about 30x30” with no security bar. The bathroom sink was about 24” off the floor. The bathroom floor was old linoleum that really needs to be replaced or at least to have the old wax stripped and cleaned. It couldn’t be very expensive to replace that floor covering, and it looks nasty. Housekeeping is by request only. No elevator. No A/C. In-room heat was good. No low-cost dining on site. Dining room food is just OK for the price. The pork chop was good, but the 16-oz ribeye was not as good as expected for the price. The only advantage I can think of for staying here over camping is that the dogs who live here apparently keep the bears away, and you could get out of the rain.

Google
Great location to access Glacier National Park. If you like history, this a historical hotel/lodge and close to the Amtrak train. Prices are high for rooms. Lodge dining options are very expensive, but food is good. Sun Tour 'Full Day East Side Tour ' is highly recommended.

Yelp
Going-To-The-Somewhere Road a SunTour "there were supposed to be bison here they decided not to bring them over there are some bison cutouts. They aren't real. Ha ha. I stay away from bar culture. I don't know anything about that anymore. I used to see an osprey here, but it's been a long time. Here, there used to be a functioning beaver dam. Not damn, you know? I heard there was a moose here, but I've never seen it. two goats and a bear came crashing through here, but it was early... yesterday. the goats are probably dead now. horse stables and cabins were here. They were pushed into the river. there's a place down that road that makes a great fry bread burger, we aren't going there. the best views are just past here, too bad the road is closed. it was beautiful yesterday. do you know how to skin a bison? you start here (points to neck & proceeds) they have this Turkish bread in Germany. You should try it. my mother was very knowledgeable about our people and was fluent in our language. She died. that cow is going to 'take one for the team' tonight. Boom. The other tour guide leads our ceremonies and teaches our language and stories, he's really good. the glacier is up there somewhere. You probably can't see it. if you can see it, you won't know it. water ran here like a creek, you know creeks? If you could walk down here, you'd see a very rare horse tunnel. let's go to the museum, they have things. See? Things. well, there's nothing else to not see.

Yelp
I was so impressed by the friendliness of the staff. Everyone went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. Marti at the concierge desk was AMAZING! She truly made my day! I love historic lodges! They may lack some of the amenities of new hotels but this lodge more than makes up for that in the beauty of the building and surroundings. But the true Jen of Glacier Park Lodge is the staff. I will definitely be back for an extended stay.

Thuy Dan T.

Yelp
TDLR: I did not stay overnight at the lodge but we stopped while in the park to try some huckleberry desserts. The lodge is beautiful from the exterior with the flowers blooming and the interior area has all the lodge vibes you'd expect. In the back side is a view of the lake which was so serene. We walked around the edge, stacking flat rocks and it was very calming. We also ordered a coffee and the huckleberry New York cheesecake. Coffee was so/so but the cheesecake was tasty! Huckleberry is sweeter than tart to me.

Yelp
You might think from the name "East Glacier Park Village" that the Glacier Park Lodge would be closer than a 40 minute drive to the park entrance. Like me, you'd be wrong. Given room rates at about $200.00, you may like to shop around. Don't. Other lodgings in the area are atrocious. I know, because we stayed in them. So, how do I know anything about this property? Because it had a bar where I could drown my sorrows for not having made reservations at the Lodge. Bite the bullet and just stay there for the bar. Busy bartender was excellent.

Yelp
This review is for the restaurant. They open at 5pm for dinner. The service was very good and the food was delicious. While we waited in the lobby of the lodge for the doors of the restaurant to open, there was a nice gentleman playing his guitar and his daughter who had down syndrome was singing softly and beautifully. It was so sweet to watch. Back to the food.... We ordered the trout which was cooked really well in a buttery sauce. The bison bolognese was really good as well. No complaints. Sorry, no pictures of the food. Go check them out!

Julie D.

Yelp
Cool place to stay, great staff, nice, free tour, food is great in the restaurant. But that's all. This place is cool as far as the old historical vibe goes. Our room, however was another story. Worn out wood floors. Yes they were original. Could use a good refinishing. No place to sit other than on the toilet or bed. The bathroom: Absolutely disgusting. Linoleum was original and filthy, worn out and just gross. Shower was tiny little camper style stall. I'm 5'2" and shower head was below my nose. I realize and learned on the tour that the bathrooms were added to the rooms much later. They are a step up, no problem with that, but GEEZ update them! For $400 a night I think you're more than making enough money on these rooms to update them. You can refurbish a bathroom and still make it look "old" and vintage-ee!

Yelp
Loved the Lodge itself, the view is amazing and it is in good condition for its age. If you're expecting a Ritz or Four Seasons you'll be disappointed, but in my mind; it's exactly what a historic national park should be. Regarding the food; stick with the Interlaken Bar - the service was fabulous, the custom-made cocktail was incredible and the food was great. And now the reason for the 3 stars. Sad to say, the next evening when we dined in the large dining room it was not the same delightful experience. We were served very poor drinks, the food was meh and the manager of the restaurant completely indifferent. Certainly did not meet expectations. Am hoping it was because it was the first of second weekend of their season, and it has since improved.

Sunny L.

Yelp
Their bar & foods in the restaurant were fairly good & the architecture of the lodge had its historic charms but, no sound proof in the room was unbearable. No WiFi in the room was nearly traumatic. No coffee machine in the " suite " was unimaginable. The "decor" in the room was hilariously mis-matched . There were not enough hotel options choose from nearby on the East end of the Glacier, away from the more populous West end of the famed Glacier National Park so we decided to stay here just for a couple of nights. People in Montana were genuinely nice , friendly, & quite talkative. More than once, I just wanted to tell the staff or servers just to get to the point & let me leave! I had to smile so much at friendly greetings from all directions that my muscles around my mouth were starting to hurt, lol! Regardless, we had a fun time. 2.5 stars, overall, though. The lodge will definitely need to improve the decorations to enhance the historic beauty & its amenities to attract more younger generations.

Yelp
We stayed at the Lodge for 4 days, eat many meals at their two restaurant. We are very impressed with Polliean Moody, Food and Beverage Assistant Manager and her staff. They are very attentive, nice, friendly and helpful. Excellent five stars service! The food here is delicious!

Sara S.

Yelp
This review is for the bar, we did not stay at this hotel. The food was not good. Burger was tasteless, soup was cold. Our server, Lawrence, was also not very good. We ordered our food long before everyone else that was in the restaurant, and we got our food quite a while after everyone. The other server, I believe his name was James, did a very good job and was basically waiting on all of the tables. Lawrence was in the back most of the time. We will not be coming back here again.

Private U.

Yelp
Over charged for my stay! We had a nice time at the lodge except getting overcharged will not be coming back. The breakfast buffet is not quality food for the price. The bathrooms in the rooms have no bathtubs. No pool, they still have pictures of the pool online.

Holly L.

Yelp
We loved this place so much! It is full of history and nostalgia, the staff is great, its location is the perfect launch pad for some world-class hiking (also across the street from the Amtrak station for those traveling by train), and the cocktails and food exceeded expectations. Our room was small, but we had a wonderful shared balcony, the shower was great, and so was the bed. We loved doing puzzles at night in the majestic lobby and listening to guests playing the piano and guitars. It's everything that was wonderful about travel when we were growing up, in a beautiful setting. Can't wait to come back!

Shawn P.

Yelp
During a recent visit to Glacier Natl. Park, we stopped in the lodge for lunch. The more formal dining area is not open for lunch, but the lounge area is. A small but varied lunch menu is available and service is provided by enthusiastic servers, most of whom appear to be young people visiting and working from abroad. I had the burger which was filling and tasty.

Jaclyn S.

Yelp
I can't possibly give the lodge more than 1 star. Many of the guests spotted a bear outside the hotel at night not bothering anyone just eating trash. I'm assuming the hotel called someone who drove up and then shot and killed the bear! This is not hunting season and it sure felt wrong and illegal. A tranquilizer I could understand but this felt cruel and unnecessary. UPDATE: I reported it as a violation and was notified this hotel is on an Indian reservation and they're allowed to kill any animal whenever they want. It was an unwarranted kill.

Yelp
The ambiance is fabulous and the only reason for Any stars. My hamburger was burned on one side. Seriously burned. When I pointed this out to our waitress she didn't think it was burned...my fault I should have been suspicious when she didn't ask me how I wanted my burger cooked What was even funnier was that my husband's burger was likewise burnt Yikes replace that chef and train that waitress

Henry T.

Yelp
was a good place to stay. the doors are a little goofy sillyas half the time they wouldn't lock. anyways uhh i forgot the rest would recommend if you like cool places. i didn't take pictures. there is no elevator sadly so i had to walk. uhh go usa fireplace was good yes. and so was the deli. the lounge was a little slow and both restaurants had a long wait. sadly it was sad

Yelp
Posting my review from last September .... LOVE It's a beautiful, historic lodge. You're not paying for luxury here, you're paying for location and history. The gift shop has lots of cool stuff. LIKE The room is spacious and comfortable. I like the wooden floors, but they're squeaky. The bed was comfortable and the bedding is nice. MEH The coffee situation here is bad. No coffee makers in the room. You have to walk to the main lobby, and the only place that has coffee on a Saturday morning is the market. It comes from a machine and tastes OK but not great, and there's a bottle of milk to add to it. The market can't charge your room or accept Apple Pay so I had to manually enter my card number and information from my phone. ICK Overhearing the gift shop clerk badmouth Californians with tourists from the South.

Yelp
The lodge itself is beautiful. The grounds are immaculate and well taken care of. The common areas are clean. Our actual room was on the 3rd floor. There's no elevator so we did have to take the stairs. There's no modern amenities like air conditioning, tv, coffee maker etc. Our room was really dusty and we pushed our bed a little and the floor was covered in dust. The bathrooms are very old dated and not so clean. We paid $350 a night to stay here. We were actually surprised the meals we had at the lodge were actually really good. My husband had the bison burger and I had the Charcuterie board and salad. I loved all the made in Montana foods they served. The huckleberry ice cream, lemonade and salad dressing were wonderful. The hotel is also in a great location if you want to hike at the park or take the Amtek. We had a wonderful time there but wish the rooms were updated to justify the cost. There's also a car rental lot across from the resort. The wifi worked fine for us. Staff seemed tired and overworked :-( Not real friendly.

Ritodhi C.

Yelp
Note: review of the bar, not the accommodations As a die-hard Mavericks fan, I was worried that I would be unable to catch an all-important playoff game during a recent visit to East Glacier. Enter the Glacier Park Lodge bar, where the super friendly staff was willing to throw the game on while we washed down our dinners with some excellent local beer. My wife was very pleased with her cheese board, a collection of three different cheeses, mustard, cured meats, some pickled items, and of course huckleberry jam. My bison burger wasn't especially juicy, but it was flavorful between the crunchy bacon and funky cheddar. The bread was unfortunately overtoasted, which compromised the chew. Above-average food, welcoming bartenders, and the NBA playoffs on deck and I'm a happy camper.

Yelp
The lodge is hard to beat for its ambience and location, making it easy to arrive by Amtrak and tour some (or all) of Glacier National Park. Like its cousins in other national parks, the Lodge is a living relic from the early history of train travel and park-going. It is NOT a modern-day convenience, as some others have noted, but it's also not like people coming to Glacier National Park are necessarily looking for that. (I do note that the ages of guests seems to tilt towards 55+, but that could be for any reason really). The amenities are few and pricey, reflecting that this area is back country and a destination for people getting out and away. The restaurant and food options are fine but expect to pay $15-30 for a meal (and don't expect many other options in town! A few places are open though, but with variable hours). The views though - the views are why you want to come here for a bit. The Lodge might be just the kind of place you spend a day or two at, with a book you want to read, and asking for nothing more you'll be very content.

Joshua H.

Yelp
This is a classic tourist trap run by Pursuit who has done a great job keeping the outside of the hotel looking nice, but has spent $0.00 doing anything to keep the insides up to date or even clean. Please skip this hotel, they don't deserve your money. The bathrooms are tiny, you can't even properly shower ... the sink is made for a tiny child. The beds are absolutely terrible and there is zero sound insulation room the room. You literally hear everything your neighbors are saying, and doing. The Wi-Fi is almost nonexistent. The food is B- and more expensive than anything we encountered on the trip. Again, do not come here. This place is like a bad joke.

Rachel H.

Yelp
The restaurant inside was amazing. There was a wait but we got a drink at the lodge to pass the time. They portions were very large. Great food for the area, fine dining experience. Also amazing wifi thank god since no where else in the area has any/ cell service.

Yelp
There were 9 of us traveling together (3 families). End of July 2023. 1. Rooms at the resort. When we arrived, they gave me a room, and we went up to find that it was not cleaned. This was annoying, and they moved us to a different floor for a night. They intended to leave us separated from our family, but we asked to be moved and they did. This was annoying to not have our room ready near the family and have to pack and move our stuff again. The real issue is the family of 5 was supposed to have a double and a triple connected to each other (2 adults in one room and the 3 kids in the other). When we arrived, they didn't have anything of the sort ready. They gave them random rooms that weren't close to each other. The next day, they moved one room, but still never got the connected double and triple. This was a big hassle for their family. We're asking for a fair rebate for the hassle of this, not having things ready that we needed, and not being clear about the rooms that would be available to this family. 2. Shuttle service. This was AWFUL. We knew that we had an open day on our first full day at the resort. Earlier in the year, my family member called a few times to talk with the hotel staff about how to catch a shuttle and what to expect with the shuttle. When we arrived, we even asked the front desk clerk about the shuttle system. Everything on the website and every conversation with staff on phone calls said that it was "first come, first served." The midnight clerk was completely clueless about how the shuttle service worked. Even though we were delayed and not in until midnight, we got up at 7 am to try to catch the 8:15 am shuttle so we could get to a trailhead to beat the heat. The 8:15 am shuttle was already full with an Amtrak tour and we had to wait until 10:15 am. Had we known this the night before, we would have been able to sleep in. We were stuck then with 2 hours with 3 tired children, and a few tired adults. Returning shuttle service worked fine. 3. Pool. The google photos of the hotel show a pool. Many reviews about the resort talk about a pool. There is no pool. We reached out directly to the hotel management, who was uninterested in offering us any sort of recompense.

Yelp
Had reservations for four nights at glacier Park Lodge. However, this place does not have a facility to utilize in reference to laundry cleaning for the guest. Then on 820 23 during dinner time when I was presented with the check I asked the waitress to put the charge onto my room number and she asked me if I was a guest at the facility which I replied. Yes. See then asked for my room key and I asked her why. Apparently she wanted to verify that. In fact I was staying at this facility. I'm going to reply to her is I'm not here to dine and - I do have a room key. Based on this waitress is ignorance. I decided to vacate the premises and checked out on Monday the 21st of August. Then a fun getting my receipt. I was charged an additional $237.50 for room revenue which could not be explained by the registered personnel. I would not recommend staying at this place based on several factors as indicated. It should also be noted that there are no elevators at this facility for those individuals that come under the American disability act, so therefore by not having the facilities available to those that have issues is discriminatory.

Stephanie K.

Yelp
Run the other way. Restaurant and lounge were fantastic The quality of the food and the service was stellar. The rooms are not kept up. Lumpy beds, hard pillows, tiny shower, paint on the linoleum floor, no Wi-Fi, no AC, no elevator. I am fine with rustic, just let me know what to expect when I book. And please don't charge $350 a night for a motel 6 room. The service at the front desk was the worst I have ever experienced - unable to resolve issues. I call it plastic customer service, "so sorry; nothing we can do"

Jason H.

Yelp
The hotel is situated on the east entrance to Glacier National Park. The city isn't very nice. The hotel is old with no amenities and bad internet (you won't have cell signal, so good luck planning your trip once here). Walls are paper thin, no elevator.

Martha P.

Yelp
Food: A tour purchased sack lunchs for the group. The sandwiches were awful and had stale bread. Small packets of carrots were included...inedible (best buy date was three weeks old), the chips, apple and water were edible. Hotel: We got a lovely tour of an interesting old hotel. Located by the Amtrak station. This was * 5 stars*.

BR B.

Yelp
Fix the internet for god sake, it's the worst. Staff have no clue, not sure why people like this place. It's also expensive for the service that is delivered.

B S.

Yelp
This stay was a last resort for us after being unable to find any rooms near Many Glacier. And that was in Feb for a July stay. Be sure to book way ahead! There isn't much to be said for the town itself. Quaint isn't even the right word. But that was fine- our plan was to spend as much time in Glacier NP as we could. The Mountain View behind the hotel is gorgeous. They really do have a stunning piece of property. However having spent a long day outdoors sweating through hikes, it would have been nice not to come back to a hotel room that was 80 degrees even at night. DO NOT STAY ON THE THIRD FLOOR. It's hot as Hades and with no ac and tiny attic windows it's really uncomfortable. Lower floors were much cooler and we had the chance to spend time in a friend's second floor room with a balcony which makes a world of difference to the room temp. I realize it's a historic hotel and can appreciate that. However we've stayed in historic hotels before and they are well kept, have modern amenities, and this one just doesn't. It appears no funds have gone toward bringing it up to date. Aside from an impressive looking lobby and some gift shops the rooms are like a hostel. Bathroom is crazy small with outdated tiny showers or free standing tubs with shower curtains, the sink is in the bedroom rather than the bathroom. There is no elevator so prepare to take the stairs every time. No help with luggage so you're doing it yourself. Restaurant is so-so. As most hotels go, overpriced a bit in my opinion but the food really isn't anything special. Staff is likely seasonal which is understandable but many could not answer simple questions we had. Spotty WiFi though it does actually have it which I know isn't always common in this area. Much could be done to make this hotel really shine, and it could. But currently there are many things to improve on.

Tommy V.

Yelp
A great place if you wanted to retreat and rewind from a busy life - a relaxing experience if that's what you're looking for. The area is beautiful. The lobby is magnificent. The staff very friendly. The dining experience was great (there was live music when we were there!), with a lot of choices for beers/cocktails too. This place is great if you wanted to stay in, play board games, talk, read a book, etc. It's an OK place as a one night thing, I'd recommend more than one night. The rooms are very spacious but keep in mind the beds are Full size and not queens. We had 4 people so it was tight. Sink is small but we didn't find that to be a problem. Since everyone is there to relax, the pace everyone moves at is a bit slow... No elevators so make sure you know where your room is before climbing the stairs to your room! There are two buildings (connected), but we make the mistake of carrying our luggage to the 3rd floor only to find out our room was in the other building. No AC or TV in the room by the way.

Tim G.

Yelp
Ok so it doesn't have TVs or air conditioning. But dang does this place have charm. The location is great: it's near a grocery, some restaurants, the red bus tours, and a rental car place. The pool is huge and has a nice view of a mountain. It's awesome. The food is also quite good! The fish dishes (trout and salmon) are both great and for dessert the huckleberry bread pudding is amazing. The beer selection is pretty good and the offings in the gift shop do not disappoint. Cleaning staff seem pretty attentive. They have at least three vintage pianos in this place, and the one in the lobby is available for guests to play. The piano is ancient, but it's well-tuned and the acoustics of the room are nice! Ross, the guitarist on contract during the summers here, has the voice of an angel and sings in the dining area or the common area at nights, lifting the vibe of this cozy ol' lodge.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
I'm posting this because I wanted to cancel our reservation after checking Yelp, but I am so glad I did not. The room we had was renovated. It's a historic hotel so be prepared for no WiFi in rooms or conveniences that one might get in a chain (tv, coffee). The staff were great and recommended hikes, the service was excellent and the food was good. This is a very small town and we were here to explore the park and dis engage from work and "real" life so it was perfect. We will be coming back soon!

Yelp
Stayed 2 nights at the lodge and we had a lovely experience. The lodge is impressive- with a lot of history. We took the train in, so it's about a 3 minute (literally) walk from the station to the lodge. Upon entering, (gripe #1) expect to wait in a line to check in- maybe get some coffee or grab something to eat, until the line dies down. There are only 2 checkout counters. While I don't think the slowness is due to the people checking people in, I think most people staying simply ask for a lot of information. Because we stayed at the lodge at 2 different times during our trip, I had to check in and check out twice- both times, the people in front of me took 20 minutes. I couldn't figure it out. We stayed in two different rooms- both nearly identical. The floors are wood, the beds are simple. Be prepared to hear people on either side of you and in the hallway. If you are afraid of ghosts, don't stay on the 3rd floor. We had an interesting scream one night that everyone else in the hallway heard. Besides the slow check-in, my second gripe was the bathroom. I don't ask for much when I travel, but a regular shower is on the short list. The showers are tiny- I mean, tiny- like for malnourished children tiny. I saw people much bigger than I, in both directions, and wondered how they got in the shower. As if that is bad, the shower curtain is a cheap, plastic curtain. Why they couldn't just slap a glass door on the tiny shower is beyond me. Another reviewer said the steak was horrible. My husband and I had a different experience. The first night we arrived, our dinner was out of this world. He got a stuffed chicken special and I got the butternut squash ravioli. Both we to die for- like, we nearly licked these giants plates of food clean. The second night we stayed we sat at the bar and ordered a charcuterie plate (which was definitely not worth it after having the charcuterie plate at St. Mary), but it was still fine to eat. I ordered the elk brat and my husband ordered the veal schnitzel- both were delicious! Both times we stayed, we ordered the huckleberry bread pudding. It was amazing! Be sure it is heated up and order it with a side of ice cream. You won't be sorry. There is plenty to do at the lodge if staying a few days. Drink your morning tea (or coffee) on the back porch, overlooking the mountains. Sit in front of the giant fireplace, or simply laugh at the people who line up in front to 'watch it' like a TV. Walk to the left of the lodge and pop into the Spoon shop to visit the coolest little lady from Georgia who loves making spoons- and be ready to buy some- they are gorgeous. A few doors down from her is this cute diner- where we ordered some beers and soup for lunch on a cold day. All in all, a good place to stay.

Yelp
The lobby is very beautiful and is what is pictured whenever you google this Lodge. Don't let it suck you in like it did me. I was so looking forward to our stay here and was so disappointed. I will never, ever stay at this lodge again, and I hope my review will save some from the same bad experience I had. We booked a queen room with a cot. We got the cot, but were told our room did not really accommodate a cot...hmmm. The room was tiny and the only place to put the cot was jammed at the bottom of the bed. Consequently, my husband had to climb over the bed in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, and repeatedly during the early morning and evenings when we were in the room (we tried to stay away as much as possible). Not only was this extremely inconvenient, but I'm sure it is a fire hazard as well. The shower stall (no tub) was also extremely tiny. I am an average-sized woman (size 10-12) and I barely had room to turn around in it. The pillows also appeared tiny, until you woke up in the morning and realized that the tiny pillow was just a really lumpy flat pillow that they bunched all together to make it look fuller (albeit half-sized). There were not fitted sheets; the bottom sheet constantly came untucked, only to reveal a grungy old mattress protector underneath. This didn't quite fit the bed and kept coming off and lumping up in the middle of the bed. I knew there was not air conditioning when I booked it, but didn't think it would be a problem as the highs in this area in July are generally in the 70s during the day. Unfortunately when we arrived they were experiencing unseasonably warm weather (90's). Our room was like an oven and the two tiny windows were closed up tight upon our arrival. You would think they would do what they could to make it cooler for arriving guests. They provided one box fan. We would have liked to put it near the window to draw some air in at night, but there were no outlets there; outlets were hard to come by anywhere in the room. It was nice and cool in the three story lobby, and the shops on the first floor so I guess they have air-conditioning somewhere. Strange as it may sound, the one thing we did like was all of the stray dogs wandering around outside the hotel. They were friendly, but no one knew who they belonged to; none of them were wearing collars. Other hotel guests told us they were strays. Probably not a good idea to most to have so many strays wandering around their hotel entrance, but it was the bright spot in our day when we returned in the evenings.

Yelp
We stayed at the Glacier Park Lodge for a couple of nights. Per other reviews it is aging, but we weren't there for amenities! We were there to enjoy the magnificent beauty that surrounded the Lodge. The structure of the lodge itself was incredible. Trying to imagine the time when it was constructed. The humongous logs rendered from ginormous trees. We did some walking and exploring and booked a Red Bus Tour up the Road to the Sun. We had driven it ourselves a couple years ago but it was so nice just to be able to kick back and relax and soak in the beauty. Totally worth the cost. The Gift Shop was irresistible, and I bought a few things to try, like the locally sourced Honey. Some local huckleberry jam and syrup too! My keepsake purchase was a hand hewn ceramic bowl- beautifully painted hummingbirds fired with a high glaze finish. I planned to use it for keeping fresh fruits and veggies on the sideboard. Back to the Lodge....our room was adequate for the two of us. The lodge is huge but we did not hear any excessive noise. The evening we arrived the dining room was about to close but they welcomed us in and we had nice dinner. Everyone we interacted with was very nice and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

Yelp
Yes the rooms don't have TVs. Yes the rooms have small headspace and bathrooms. But who cares!?!? If you are an avid hiker and want some place to stay, this place is awesome. The bar, restaurant, and staff were super friendly. The food was great and the landscaping was beautiful. There is no elevators so stairs are the way. No problem. It burns calories. Enjoy your stay and relax a bit. Easily done here. Thanks!

Yelp
I would rate the actual room at two stars. It was pretty disappointing considering the rest of the common space in the hotel was nice and historic. The lobby is rustic yet charming with huge logs and large fireplaces with rocking chairs. The dining room was nice and the lounge had a nice view of the mountains, all great to enjoy during the stay. Our room was dusty, dirty and not well cleaned. The bathroom had a very odd small shower and just overall needed major updating. Mattresses were cheap and entirely too firm. I would highly recommend planning your trip ahead to book at any of the other historical lodges in or near the park. This was a last minute choice for us due to availability and the accommodations explain why they had the availability they did.

Yelp
After 5 nights in beautiful Whitefish we were so excited to venture to the park and get our nature fix. The resort was gorgeous when we pulled up even though I some how missed it wasn't IN the park. The lobby is awesome, they had live music which was very cool. However, we got into the room and wow....I'm all for preserving history but come on! It's by far one of the worst rooms I've ever stayed in. Abort, abort, abort! The bathroom is horrible! Tiniest sink and shower ever, run down, broken fixtures, filthy floors, walls, etc. The floor was warped in the bathroom, the room was very poorly insulated (major drafts coming in) the walls were paper thin, I could go on and on. For the price of $270 a night, find another place!

Yelp
This review is for the lounge only. We came on a weekend when no booze was offered (Blackfoots holy days). Not much to choose from for lunch in this town, so the lounge was a cool respite from the high temps outside. Had ice tea and burgers. Nothing special, but decent for the area.

Yelp
Phenomenal and historic facility that could not be replicated these days. But... for the $$$ to stay there, owners and managers could easily provide better quality food and waiter service, and better updated conveniences. Mediocre and overpriced food and slow service on our first evening, so we found better options in the small town of East Glacier for second day And take some lessons from great, historic European hotels that have updated without ruining the historic significance. You could have a truly world class hotel!

Yelp
So this is the overview of my stay at glacier Park Lodge. The food was actually really good, I ate at the lounge. I had a turkey club and I have some allergies and they were able to accommodate properly there. My night was not very good. first of all the hotel rooms are very outdated to me, and didn't have a homey lodge feel like other lodges i stayed at. The walls were very thin and there were people screaming and laughing ALL NIGHT. I wasn't able to fall asleep till 3! Overall this lodge really didn't fit my vibe. If it was only the hotel rooms it would be a 2-star‍.

Yelp
Location of the lodge is beautiful. The outside and landscaping is beautiful. The all wood Interior of the lodge is beautiful. Hotel rooms not so beautiful, the rooms need an update that's for sure. The staff is all friendly even though only one of them spoke English. Trying to find food around there in the afternoons is hard so be prepared. Finding food in the morning is easy as there is a dining restaurant in the lodge that has amazing hearty food. The hotel is open half the year like the movie The Shining so keep in mind it's a little creepy. Also kind of weird that there was a legit pack of dogs that roam the area approaching guests, they don't tell you this and still probably haven't done anything about it. All in all this resort was an amazing stay and connected us to the beauty and history of glacier park, I can't wait to return.

Yelp
I didn't stay (I'm a backpacker), but checked out this place as sightseeing. Old style lodge. The atomosphere was nice, people staying there seemed older, but I got a sense that they were having a really good time.

Yelp
Really nice place to hang out on a rainy day. Open to the public. Small dining area is affordable however salmon was really over grilled. Lost the delicate texture/ flavor of salmon. Meatballs were nice. My son loved the tee pee and toy bear. Gift shop highly recommended.

Yelp
Glacier Park Lodge is one of the few lodging options in the area, but this one was a pretty good choice. The lodge is outside of Glacier National Park near the train station and tiny town. It was built by the old Great Northern Railroad to attract tourists and is a great example of a classic American mountain lodge. The surroundings are just spectacular with the mountains and well manicured grounds beckoning a long walk before a late dinner. The interior of the lodge is upscale rustic with lots of hunting and adventure themes. The lodge has not been updated for modern tastes, so the bathrooms are pretty basic with no air conditioning in the rooms. There is no TV and little internet. This can be a bit of a challenge, but there are plenty of options to socialize with your fellow travelers. I had a meal in the dining room, and it was pretty good with fast and good service. There is a bar in the lobby which serves stiff and cold drinks and lots of classic lodge seating areas to watch the sunset or read a book. The pool had lots of insects, and the lodge was especially steamy on a very hot stay. Fortunately, you can book tours from the lobby to head out to explore the area. Glacier Park Lodge is a great option when visiting Glacier National Park.

Yelp
Because the sun wasn't going down until 9:30P, looking for things to do in the small town of East Glacier Park Village was desired. Although we didn't stay here, we wandered in trying to make best use of the long daylight hours. Built over 100 years ago by Great Northern Railway when railroads were the titans of the economy, this is a grand and inviting building similar to the signature hotels at Yosemite and the Grand Canyon. Glacier National Park's lakeshore hotels at Many Glacier and Lake McDonald are styled after refined Swiss alpine chalets, while Glacier Park Lodge has a rugged frontiersman feel with lots of tree bark. Because the building is older than many common conveniences like electricity, there are endless conduits and pipes poking out around the décor and hallways. The huge timbered atrium lobby with live music is the hub to the Great Northern Dining Room, Empire Bar, and gift shop. The bar features beers, only the basic spirits, and average cocktails made from local producers. The property has a view of a huge lawn to the train station in the front and views of the mountains in the back with endless chairs for relaxing.

Yelp
Trip Advisor is all ovah this lodge, so i'm a little suprised to find no "yelp" entry. This place is more a "something you should check out at least once in your life" then a "place you go every summer". First of all, unless you live on the Canadian great plains, this is literally in the ass end of nowhere- i.e. western montana. getting here from one of the coasts requires at least one plane change over and a car rental plus longish drive. the main "wow" factor of this place is the fact that 1) east glacier national park is amazingly beautiful and 2)this lodge was built by the great northern railroad and is kind of like this weird throwback to the 1920's. Down to the bathrooms (tiny!), the rooms(gross and tiny!) and the lack of elevators. Their staff are bizarrely incompetent, but it all goes along with the "federal park concession" vibe. Anyone whose been to Yosemite knows what I'm talking about. So don't hate- but you may want to think twice before throwing down two fitty a night on a room with no closet. Here is a tip if you go: asked to be housed in the annex not the main lodge itself!

Yelp
Definitely needs some tender loving care the lobby was beautiful in design but the toons need to be upgraded windows do not stay open plugs are outdated and definitely need refreshing It would be wonderful to see it restored to its prior glory it has good bones Staff could use some additional training on initial greeting desk staff were helpful

Yelp
As far as lodging in the park is concerned this place is pretty nice. Don't expect too much in terms of luxury, this place is rustic. For what it is though its really sweet. The rooms located in the main old lodge area can be loud into the evening. If your after peace and quiet the distant parts of the lodge are for you. The last time we stayed we were in a room way down near the end of one of the halls. We had a lovely view of the front lawn. The beds were nice, the rooms were clean although the rooms are a bit dated. The main entrance is quite nice. You feel like your stepping back in time. The food and breakfast options are slightly bizarre. The service, it's as if you are being served by a bunch of stoned drop outs. Like it really sucked. That should not be a deterrent however, in fact it's actually kind of novel.
