Glacier View Guesthouse - Closed, under new management now

Very cute and cozy place with an incredibly nice owner (Erin). We arrived late (way past dinner time) but the owner made us an amazingly delicious warm tomato soup for our family of 6 with dessert. The French Chocolate Cake was the best cake we ever had! All of the foods are homemade, including everything at the breakfast buffet. The foods are amazing and we really enjoyed our stay here. 10/10 would recommend as it is THE BEST GUESTHOUSE IN ICELAND. We will definitely be coming back!

You feel really welcome in this warm and generous space. The host has a love for this place that made us feel so welcome. The dinner was delicious and filling. Rooms were clean and comfy. While fully booked, it didn't feel or sound busy so we could get some good sleep. The short drive up the hill pays off to get the view of the glacier from your front door.

We spent 2 nights in this lovely home. We thoroughly enjoyed the warm hospitality and meeting so many interesting fellow travelers. We felt very welcome , the rooms were cozy and spotlessly clean. The delicious home made food with freshly picked herbs, warm bread and delicious soup. So happy to have met you!

Totally awesome. The lady of the house is an amazing cook. Charming common room. More than adequate bed room with private bath. Great place to meet fellow travellers. Was delighted to come across this gem. Will recommend to friends. The drive from main highway is a gravel road but not a problem at all. Did I say that the dinner and hospitality was a winner?

We decided last minute to book a room with diner here. The host wasn't expecting any guests for this day but she managed to cook a very generous and delicious diner for us. The food (diner and breakfast) was amazing, the rooms are super nice, and the hosts are very friendly and make you feel at home. Definitely recommend!

My friend and I stayed 4 night at the Glacier View Guesthouse and we loved it. The host really made us feel like family and had very interesting story to tell about her own hiking adventure. I will definitely book there again when I come back to Iceland. The breakfast includes freshly cooked bread from the morning and had a great variety of food to support us for our daily hikes (smoked salmon , eggs, tuna, ,…). We also really enjoy the diner which was a nice 3 meal course.

Last night we stayed at this amazing guesthouse and I’m safe to say that I already miss our host and guesthouse. The minute we entered the terrain with our car she opened the front door, and shouted, watch out for the ice dear, it’s slippery. She welcomed us to her guesthouse like we were family. It was the first time for me in a setting like this. Dining at the same table with other guests in the living room, chatting together, having fun and watching the northern lights. I’ve never had a tasty buffet like this and the hospitality of our host was AMAZING! We turned back to the living room a little bit later and she just blow out the candles, dimmed the lights and ready to go to bed. But when we entered the door she ran to the candles with her lighter. It was amazing and I will definitely go back again! Best host ever!!

We had a wonderful two day stay here. It was the perfect place to explore the nearby sights, the rooms were cozy, clean and comfortable, and the main house was warm and welcoming (especially the people in it!). We traveled with our 1.5 year old daughter, and they set up a portable crib for her and pulled out a couple of toys for her to play with while we ate breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was perfect and filling, and we decided to have dinner one night as well — the dinner was fantastic. We had a wonderful time — the hosts made us feel so welcome — and we were so glad we decided to stay here.
