Google
Pupusas here are some of the best I’ve had. The service is great and the owner is great as well. Nothing fancy here but authentic Salvadoran food. Would definitely recommend.

Google
Very fun experience. They were super busy but still provided amazing service. The food is soooo good I'm definitely coming back

Google
Good morning, how are you? and Blessings family. I was at my house 🏡 in Scotssdale and I craved pupusas and I started looking at Salvadoran restaurants on my computer and I saw the restaurant gladyz en mesa and I also saw the menu and I saw the pupusas and the restaurant through the Internet and I said I'm going to go to that restaurant because I was convinced by the good taste of the food and I put the GPS and went to the restaurant to eat pupusas and Thank God I'm going to return to the gladyz restaurant I loved the food and the excellent service from the staff. God willing Bless 🙏 $200 for two plates of food and two sodas April/30/2025

Google
We were greeted, seated, and given menus promptly. We also got there early on a Sunday, so no one else was around. Our server/cook was not only friendly and attentive, but he also coached us on the toppings. I had never had papusas before, and these were wonderful! The food was so cheap and so filling, and I needed to take some home. $12 to eat all day is a fine price! The restaurant itself is a little crowded, but I could easily see this place getting packed, because the food is on point. There are two TVs and customer bathrooms as well. I will absolutely be returning.

Google
Amazing pupusas. We had the bean/cheese and pork. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend!

Google
Had a delicious chicken enchilada as an appetizer. For dinner I had the talapia and shrimp. Fried plantains for dessert. It was all very good. This is a place I will eat when I pass through.

Google
Fantastic meal. I was craving pupusa’s so I drove from south Gilbert to come here and it did not disappoint. The owner was so nice, and the food was delicious! I got 3 Revuelta pupusas, delicious! I can’t wait to come back.

Google
We decided to do something different for lunch and found Glady's Restaurante Salvadoreno. I am so happy we did. The food was so good. We both went with the 3 Pupusas which came with 3 sides (rice, black beans and coleslaw), because of course that's what we would order. The service was super friendly and fast. Although we did go with three different Pupusas, we both agreed (this time) that the Tradicional with pork, beans and cheese, was our favorite. So flavorful and good. Do yourself a favor and go here. We can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Food was delicious and fresh. Had a cheese pupusa with loroco and ground pork (chicharon) and a chicken tamale wrapped in a banana leaf which brings a totally different flavor profile than corn husk wrapped tamales. Filling is chicken, potatoes, green chile slices and an occasional green olive. In Oaxaca and Central America this is how they roll. In Nicaragua they call them Nacatamales and they are a meal by themselves because they are mega huge! The service was great and friendly. Ambiance was very simple and decorated with a Salvadoran flair. What surprised me the most were the menu prices . The pupusas were the best deal for $4 and $3.50 for tamales . Felt prices were a bit elevated for the surroundings which I would call a "rough patch of mesa" where the motel across the street is a hub a property crimes and your basic den of inequity. Park your car/truck where you can see it. Remove all valuables. Other than that PSA the place is great and got me to El Salvador without a passport! Enjoy! but keep your head on a swivel my dizzle whizzle!

Yelp
It's been a while since we had stopped here but just like last time the food did not disappoint it was good and awesome customer service... we will be back in time

Yelp
Had my second visit at this spot and I decided to indulge in their pastelitos de pollo and an assortment of pupusas--a decision I didn't regret. The pastelitos were a delightful start, with a crispy exterior giving way to a succulent chicken filling that was both comforting and satisfying. But the real stars of the show were the pupusas. Each were stuffed with a variety of fillings, from the rich and savory chicharron to the unique and flavorful loroco. The chicharron pupusa, in particular, was my favorite, offering a perfect balance of textures and tastes that had me savoring every bite. While the prices were a tad on the higher side, the quality and taste made it worth it.

Yelp
It's been a while since I had pupusas, and a few nights ago, I decided to try this place that I have bookmarked. I came in here close to 8 pm on a weeknight, and there was still a steady stream of customers. Everyone was picking up takeout. Initially, I thought I would dine in, but after seeing everyone pick up their food, I decided to order my items to-go. It's kind of a hole in the wall, so makes sense. I ordered a few pupusas stuffed with loroco (edible green flower of Central America), one tamale elote, and one tamale con pollo. One of my favorite side item is curtido, which is pickled slaw and this place makes great curtido! The pupusas were delicious, and they hit the spot. Both elotes were great! The tamale elote was a bit sweeter and very flavorful. I'll definitely be back back for more pupusas and tamales, love the authentic and tasty food here!

Yelp
I recently visited this restaurant since I was craving pupusas and pastelitos. The pupusas were a good size and the pastelitos had a delightful crisp. Although everything was pricey, the food was good and my cravings were satisfied.

Yelp
I was in the mood for some good soul food. This hit the spot! Got me some amazing tamales, a variety of pupusas, yuca con chicharron, and pastel. I can't even begin with my favorite item! Everything was amazing, the food and the service too! Staff was super friendly and attentive. We got a guanabana drink and an horchata. Both are very good, but I do have to say that for those who are used to the Mexican horchata, it is not the same thing, but both are great. Mexican one is made from rice, and I believe this one is seeds from the morro tree. Will most definitely come back to try that tilapia. Love me food!
google avatar

Eric S.

Yelp
Tasty Pupusas and very good Horchata. The tamales were okay. Though they only had chicken and no pork. Also no olives in their tamales. They were good overall.
google avatar

Wendy Q.

Yelp
Was really craving for pupusas and empanadas while staying over at my best friend who lives here. She recommended them and actually they turned out good! Def I am trying the rest of the other plates when I come back.

Don W.

Yelp
Fantastic food, good service. Pupusa's best I have found in the valley. Small place with great food. Even the beans and rice were over the top! To

Yelp
I just learned about pupusas and wanted to try them. Found Glady's and decided "this is where it's going down." I'm glad I did!!! It's the perfect kinda small shop place I love to eat at! I ordered 3: bean and cheese, the mixed bean, cheese and pork and the cheese and pork. My favorite of the bunch was the mixed!! The owner was super nice and I just loved the place. I'll be back!
google avatar

Robin W.

Yelp
Not being from Central America I can't vouch for authenticity but this is the best pupusa I have ever eaten and the best fried plantains..sweet unquious delicious!!! The cook greets you, talks about his food and you gotta love cook who is authentic and excited about his plates, and they're filled with love! They have a delicious fruit drink which is a must as well . The platesco e out hot and wondrous!! And there are sauces to add for heat..there's a slaw that goes on top and it is crisp fresh sweet and vinegary and perfect. I re omens this little spot because the food is just damned good. And I'll bet it is as authentic as can be

Tabitha S.

Yelp
very filling, very delicious. Curtido was very flavorful and could be eaten by itself or w the pupusa without salsa. really lifted the flavor. salsa was okay in my opinion. pupusas were a really good size! very kind staff and clean restaurant. overall 10/10
google avatar

Christine B.

Yelp
My brother was visiting from L.A. and asked if we could find some pupusas. Glady's had good ratings so we checked it out. We were welcomed in and offered samples of their horchata and agua fresca. My brother loved the horchata while my mom preferred the agua fresca. I tried a revuelta pupusa (bean, cheese, pork) and while it was good,I actually preferred the simple bean and cheese pupusa. For some reason just the plain bean and cheese combo tasted amazing. I think my husband was jealous that I came without him, so I'll have to bring him next time.
google avatar

Merary B.

Yelp
I really loved it! Food was tasty and authentic. I ordered through UberEats so I can't say much about ambiance and service.
google avatar

Nantas S.

Yelp
Super authentic experience we will definitely be back. The place was exactly as we expected, chaotic, fun, with great people and great food! We had chicken, beans, and cheese arepas. They were amazing!

Kimberly M.

Yelp
Definitely 5 star papusas. However, I wish I could give more stars for the owner. Such a kind man who generally cares. I'm sure he may have bad days but all the times I go, I would never know.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, great service! Always a great spot to eat at. I highly recommend. Pupusas Revueltas

Yelp
Excelente service. Soo much food plates are so big can feed two people. Each food is made to order and fresh. We came from Canada to find a good Salvadorian food and we found out place. Usually places like this have a wait time but this one time the food was fast.
google avatar

Vivian Q.

Yelp
delicious & fresh made to order pupusas. i ordered 7 pupusas to go and it was a 20min wait. they were made fresh & were still very hot when i arrived home. they gave me a ton of curtido and tomato sauce, it was more than enough for all 7 pupusas very grateful. will definitely be returning to try their other food!
google avatar

Kristen G.

Yelp
The pupusas are amazing! We also had the ensalada fruitas to drink and I would go back just for that. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly. We will definitely be back

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place as I have never had Salvadoran food. I asked my friends to come try it out with me and we came on a Friday night. The restaurant is smaller and there were quite a few groups there when we showed up. There was only one server for the whole restaurant - he was super friendly but also super busy trying to serve the whole place. As the other reviewers stated, it takes a while to cook the food and the server even warned us of that. Since we wanted to try a little bit of everything we ordered the Individual Plate, Glady's Special, and 4 additional Pupusas (we wanted to try all 6). The portions were GIANT. Glady's Special was a bunch of meats (steak, chicken, shrimp, and chorizo). The meat was good but the table agreed that if you are there to try foreign dishes you can skip out on the meat as it was nothing out of the ordinary. If you are just one person, the Individual Plate is the way to go. The corn tamale was amazing - there isn't a filling like the Mexican-style tamales, just the corn base with sweet corn kernels. The pupusas are obviously a must have! Honestly, my favorite was the plain queso (cheese). The Mexican pupusas was SPICY. The Lorocco Flower reminded us of a broccoli stem - very mild flavor. Overall it was a great experience. I definitely want to come back again.

Yelp
This is one of the East Valleys hidden gems. if you didn't know this place was here, you might miss some of the finest flavors around. This family-run restaurant serves authentic Salvadoran cuisine including papusas, which you really need to taste to believe. The menu is clear, with pictures, and descriptions in English and Spanish, and the staff is happy to answer any questions. We had chicken, steak, and bean and cheese papusas, and a platter that contained some of each of the items on the appetizer menu. Everything was cooked really well, and, the portions, were large! Service was excellent and friendly, and we will definitely be back!
google avatar

Mary S.

Yelp
Definitely worth the wait... but know you'll have to wait. They have a sign that says approximately 30 mins and it's not a joke. The food is made to order and is always delicious! The pupusas, plátano frito, and yuca are my favorite on the menu. But never been disappointed with anything I order. They have gift certificates available but know you will be taxed. I tried to explain to the staff, unsuccessfully, that Gift cards and gift certificates are to be treated as cash. According to the Federal Trade Commission No tax should be charged for the purchase of gift cards.

Yelp
Food is excellent but service is never good. Rude customer service and never personable or inviting. Contemplating never going back because I feel so unwelcome and uncomfortable.

Jasline D.

Yelp
Food is good but customer service was horrible. At first super nice however when we mentioned we didn't like the soup (meat didn't taste washed properly) we were met with hostility and hearing the chef stating "don't complain and know what you're ordering before you order, don't tell me how to cook my food". However we are Central American and can tell when the meat is properly washed. As we were paying our food they complained about us creating more work for them and that most places would not tolerate people complaining about their food. They then proceeded to throw the receipt at us. As I mentioned, food is good but customer service is seriously lacking. Do not recommend eating at this one establishment.

Yelp
So good! We had the chicken dinner, carne asada dinner, a pork papusas and a cheese/jalepeno papusa. Everything was so so fresh and delicious. Massive portions we could've shared one dinner. Piping hot. The black beans were seasoned perfectly! We waited about 15 minutes for our food and every table was in use when we came in so that was also pretty standard. Papi Willie was so friendly and checked on us even though he was taking orders and cleaning up (they closed while we were still eating), and was just overall exceptional customer service. Heard him singing while he worked which is a good indication of attitude and happy doing what he was doing lol This hole in the wall will be getting more of our business for sure!

Yelp
Came in for lunch on a Thursday and it kinda busy but the wait was all worth it. The staff are super friendly and the food is always delicious. I ordered the 3 pupusa combination plate which came with black refried beans, rice and the pickled cabbage slaw and then I ordered a mixed fruit agua fresca. They also provided a red and green salsa to every table. I ordered the chicharrón y queso pupusas. The servings are very generous and the pupusas themselves are a decent size almost the size of a regular corn tortilla. This is my favorite Salvadoreño establishment in The Valley!

Juan C.

Yelp
Good service, A bigger quantity of food, good price, ambience is good, the pupusas are very tasty and the orchata very good too

Yelp
Look I don't know how I HAVEN'T written a review yet!! ‍ My family and I have been coming for years!! As a soon as we walk in they recognize us! Let me first start by saying if I post 1 or 15 pictures of food they wouldn't make a different. Everything about this place is amazing from there food, to customer service! They literally work so hard and it shows! Each plate is made with love and authenticity! We have had damn near everything on the menu and NOTHING, I mean NOTHING is short of scrumptious! This is 1 place I don't mind driving to that side of town for! Always money well spent every time!! Thank you for always providing amazing service and food! May God and the universe continue to bless your shop, your family and everyone one you bless with this amazing food!

Yelp
I am a pupusa addict. I've been to many Salvadorian restaurants in the valley and I must say that this spot easily has the best pupusas I've ever had. They don't even start making the pupusa until it is ordered, they're not pre-formed or pre-packed. They're also huge! My girlfriend and I came after I saw them on Yelp previously and randomly drove by it one night. I had the bean and cheese pupusas and my girlfriend had chicharrón. When they arrived you could smell the freshness, it smelled like cooked corn... I've never smelled that when a pupusa came to my table. The black beans and rice are also top notch. I will be back, the food is too bomb to ignore.

Yelp
Wow this place was poppin! We stopped by on Sunday at 1:30pm and the line was literally starting to come out the door. We stood behind another party that had just walked in, so we waited a few minutes to get in. The inside is small. VERY SMALL. If you hate being indoors with a bunch of people or if you're just claustrophobic this is not the place for you. They don't have that many tables and the setup inside is just weird. They do have chairs along the side for people to sit at and wait to be seated. We were luckily seated right away at the table that's right in front of the door when you walk in. The server was VERY FRIENDLY and he dropped us off the menus. More people kept walking in so it got even crazier and loud inside. They don't have as many dishes as other pupuserias have, and they are limited on the different kinds of pupusas. The menu is small and the drinks are not listed on there. We decided on going for the plate of the fried plantains that come with beans and sour cream. We also got two orders of their 3 pupusas plate that come with a drink, rice, and beans. We ordered two pupusas revueltas and four chicharron con queso. Our food came out rather quickly. The fried plantains were unfortunately burnt :( our pupusas were very mushy for some reason and we could barely find any chicharron in them. The salsa for the pupusas was super watered down and so I felt like I was putting water on my pupusas. The rice that came with my food had no flavor and it tasted like boxed rice. The black beans were delicious though, so I found myself eating them all! My tamarind drink was also very good and not too sweet. We asked for water and a water bottle was brought out to us. They don't have any of their drinks listed, so we had no idea the water wasn't free like at any other establishment.. The sever was nice but the food was ehhh... the place inside is crazy small and it was very hot inside! People were sweating and even my shirt was wet after being there a little over an hour... please turn on the AC.

Yelp
Really surprised, I am usually really picky with Latin food the place is small and really low scaled. The food took a while to get here which was a little upsetting I was already feeling like I would not like it, the food didn't look like much but man did I learn my lesson about judging a book by its cover! The food was delicious very flavorful and filling. Some of the of the best pupusas I've ever had beans were great and the rice too! Definitely recommend it and would definitely come again!

Yelp
First Salvadorian spot we found since moving to Arizona. Love love love pupusas! Buen provecho, Super Bueno!!! This boricua will be back #pupusas
google avatar

Zandra P.

Yelp
I have not had a Pupusa since NY. I had some great Salvadorian friends who taught me how to eat pupusas. It was cool to find a little Salvadorian spot in AZ. To start we had the fresh fruit juice I had the guananbana and my hubby had the frutas. We ordered the special which comes with 3 pupusas, black beans and rice. I had the traditional and Queso floral, my hubby had the pork and cheese and traditional. We also tried the chicken empanadas. The food was fresh, and yummy. Be patient they are not a fast food place they make everything to order fresh and delicious The service was amazing. We had a great server who was polite and always attentive.
google avatar

Patty C.

Yelp
Authentic !! If you know pupusas then you know it's all about the 'curtido'. The other food items are also great but the pupusas are definitely the star !!

Robert H.

Yelp
Food delicioso.. Service was great. Restaurant looks good . The papusas are delicious and the sides too I recommend this establishment..
google avatar

Wayne C.

Yelp
The restaurant is simply adorned in the typical central American decor. This is home cooked authentic food. This is food you would have at your Salvadoreño family reunion. The pastelitos (empanadas) were crispy and had the cornmeal layer as well. The pupusa plate was surprisingly filling and the jalapeño mexican style was spicy. The pupusas were hot in temperature, well filled and the cheesy goodness was delicious. The slaw was a good textural contrast. The beans were smooth and came with rice. I would definitely eat again.
google avatar

Greg A.

Yelp
Thank You Willy!!! Delicious Pupusas and Horchata Salvodrena! Highly recommend if you're looking for an authentic Salvadoran restaurant.
google avatar

Katrina S.

Yelp
Pupusas we're decent. The masa was a little under cooked which made it less enjoyable. I had the bean and cheese and the inside was good. The revueltas were decent too.
google avatar

Laura L.

Yelp
The staff is very friendly and I never need to tell them I need something they are always on point with the service The food is so good best pupusas I think I recommend this place
google avatar

Yelp
Omg this place is real deal , food was Great! Our waiter Willie was Amazing. Highly recommended. Love this place
google avatar

Yelp
FANTASTIC!!! Awesome food, huge portions and wonderful friendly personal family style service! I picked this place for a casual business meeting because it peaked my interest. To say I was surprised there's an understatement. You must come here!

Sebastian G.

Yelp
Cool little spot with really good pupusas and friendly staff. I also really like the drinks they have and the plátanos
google avatar

Dennis L.

Yelp
This place is great. I love the food and drinks everything is great the service is pretty good but man they're annoying as hell. For the second time now we try and go eat with my family and one of the guys in there is telling me they're closed. Uh what? It's 8:30 on a Saturday. Everything on google and yelp says they close at 10pm. The first time this happened we pull up on a Tuesday around 6:30 and they're closed smh google says they close at 8. This is frustrating, like I said I love the food here but I'm not about to drive 20/25 min for nothing. They need to get it together.
google avatar

Flor B.

Yelp
We enjoyed the food. Not greasy and everything was fresh. Super nice people. Great atmosphere.
google avatar

Jose F.

Yelp
Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon, it was fairly slow. Service was ok, considering there was only one other table. The pupusas were mediocre compared to others I have had in the past. The curtido was also just ok, it almost tasted watered down. Usually this is pickled but you couldn't taste much of the pickling flavor. The beans had a burnt taste, growing up eating beans this tends to happen when you refry refried beans or reheat them a few too many times. I was a bit turned away when I paid by the sight of a huge mountain of rice just sitting on the counter from where the server was grabbing for serving on to plates. Overall it was ok, I'll keep looking for another good place for Pupusas.
google avatar

Joseph B.

Yelp
The puposas are outstanding and the atmosphere is exactly the way it should, felt like I was back inn Latin America enjoying a Sunday Morning Breakfast with some traditional Puposaes and a excellent cup of ccoffee.. Great job, I am glade to have found this place. Thanks,, Joe
google avatar

Veronica N.

Yelp
Ok, so I found this place by mistake but you probably already know that nothing happens by accident. It was late and I was hungry. I saw this restaurant on the corner and the open sign was still on. I went in and they were about to close but graciously asked me what I wanted to order. I quickly looked through the menu and found the Pupusas. I ended up ordering the one with just pork, a combo of beans and cheese, and a third with beans cheese and pork. The owner, Willy was so friendly and very accommodating. I also got a chance to taste their Tamales with chicken. Very tasty indeed! The atmosphere is great and very colorful! The menu has lots of great items including amazing breakfasts. I will be back for sure! Very nice owners, and it's a family owned restaurant so they really care about their food quality as well. Wonderful place I highly recommend it!

Yelp
Not very thrilled. I was excited to try the pupusas! Being from the neighboring country of Honduras we share the love for pupusas. I like to ask before I order what type of cheese they use. From previous experiences in other places. Pupusas should be made with quesillo that's how you know they are "authentic" when I was about to order I also asked what type of cheese and was told they were made with mozzarella cheese. My heart was a bit crushed, but still ordered. The pupusas were decent.
