Where to Taste Tasmania's Wine and Food From Launceston to Hobart
"An urban, small-scale winery operating out of a converted old ice factory; visitors can book tastings to try robust styles such as a meaty La Judith Shiraz that represents a bolder Tasmanian red." - Betsy Andrews
A wonderful Tasmania local winemaker. We were lucky enough to be treated to our own exclusive tasting in Hobart, where we were treated to a Riesling, 2 Point noir options and a surprisingly delightful Shiraz. All light, refreshing and delicious, tasting is believing, highly recommended.

I loved this place. Set in an old factory just on the edge of Hobart City, this was our favourite tasting experience during our Tassie trip. It may be because Nick Glaetzer makes such excellent wines. He was very helpful in giving us an overview about Tasmania's wine regions, and telling us the story of his wines.
The whites are beautifully textured and the reds are in my Top 10 favorite Australian wines to drink. If you like fuller Pinot Noirs with a bit more body and a savoury edge - you'll love this place.
I only regret not buying more wine.

Well worth a visit. Exceptional Tasmanian Pinot Noirs and Riesling. Great to visit as a couple or group. Best to call ahead to secure a tasting slot. Short walk from CBD.

Loved the minimalist design of the tasting room, really enjoyed their Pinot noir and Riesling (we also got a little tour of the wine making facilities!). Free shipping is included with the purchase of over 6 bottles of wine, and they were delivered promptly and in excellent condition.

My sister and I, very spur of the moment booked a wine tasting trip here on the same day. We were also running late but Nick was completely accommodating for us. We really appreciated how personable and informative he was when discussing the various wines with us and also gave us recommendations of restaurants in Hobart too. I now have a new found love for red wine because of him :) 100% recommend!

Tonight we tried 2013 La Judith pinot noir for my mothers 77th birthday. We decanted the wine for 1.5hours before drinking really outstanding, tasting of chocolate and mature Christmas cake like your grandmother use to make, glaetzer-Dixon your wines are just superb and I'm glad get to try your exceptional vintages.

We had a really good experience with the Winemaker. He was very interesting to talk to about the history of his winemaking process. We purchased a couple of bottles of Riesling and Pinot Noir. The Riesling is especially interesting, less acidic and more complex than you generally expect for an Aussie Riesling.
