Glaramara Hotel

A great base for walking. The hotel is peacefully situated close to many hills and walks. It is clean and has everything you need without many frills. Staff are friendly and helpful.||Food is simple. It could almost be described as good home cooking. The portions are generous as would suit hungry walkers returning after a day in the hills. It is a little strange to have to order your evening food at breakfast. Everyone eats at the same time - 7.30. However you get used to this.||I would recommend it as a simple hotel which knows its market and caters for that.

Good food, good staff and service. The room I had was a bit small, but for the price I can't complain and the bathroom was modern and the water hot! It's a short walk to many good peaks and walks, and the hotel itself is in a picturesque spot, so even just sitting on the deck and having a coffee is very pleasant.

What a superb friendly hotel. The staff are fantastic, the ambience and views are gorgeous and the food great. It is a beautiful find. Such comfy beds too. A real place to relax and unwind whatever the weather or the fells throw at you.

A clean, comfortable, well presented hotel in a great location. Staff are friendly and helpful. The meals are huge! The lounge is a beautiful spot to sit with a drink and look down the valley.

Lovely hotel, breakfast was really nice and the service was very good. Rooms are lovely with comfortable beds, it’s really clean. The only downside was the bartender who was just rude. We had a party of 13 for our friend’s birthday, we were going for a meal in Keswick so asked when last orders would be because we wanted to|Come back to the bar for a drink, he said 10:00. We asked if he could keep it open slightly longer as we would aim to get back at 10;30. He said, let’s call it 9:45 instead then. Just uncalled for and rude. 13 people buying a few drinks would have been a nice profit on the bar but he obviously didn’t want our custom. Everything else was great. It’s a shame he’s letting the side down.

A fantastic hotel experience. My wife booked this for us as part of a trip showing her family from overseas the UK. We came here after 2 days in London and it was the perfect way to decompress and relax after a hectic time in the busy capital. When we arrived the scenery was breath-taking and walking through the main lounge with the real fireplace and comfortable, stylish furnishings we knew we made the right choice for a hotel. The rooms we booked were lovely and clean, our room had a beautiful view and the comfiest hotel bed I have slept in. The staff were friendly and approachable, they managed to provide a high end hotel experience without us feeling we were out of place with their friendly attitude. One of the waiting staff even offered to take a group photo of us when she saw my wife's Grandfather attempting to take one which was lovely. The 3 course evening meal was fantastic and well presented and the bar had some lovely drinks options which were added to by the charming pub a 5 minute walk away in the nearby village. We all had a lovely time and my wife had to drag me away so we could check out and explore the lakes! We are already planning to return and bring my parents with us. This is the best hotel I have stayed in so far, huge thanks to all involved.

Beautiful position, refurbished rooms, sadly my stay was spoilt by poor soundproofing - I could hear every single person walking up the stairs and doors banging between 7am and 11pm. Breakfast was average quality at best, dinner was much better, particularly the lamb. Overall a decent stay but could have been so much better had it been quieter

Beautiful hotel in peaceful location. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and the food was delicious and generous proportioned. Was surprised to find they were so accommodating with my nut allergy too. We will be back 😁
