The 7 Best Hotels in Sydney (Updated 2025)

"Perched above a beautiful old pub, this no-frills hotel has a dated design but serves a free continental breakfast each morning and is just a five-minute walk from Darling Harbour. The pub food is excellent and the staff go above and beyond; rooms are bright with lots of natural light and include a desk, flatscreen TV, and free Wi‑Fi. Bathrooms are on the smaller side but have nice showers with great water pressure, and everything is clean and comfortable—a solid value choice for travelers seeking simplicity." - Matthew Kepnes

Stayed here for a stay and dash, great location, walls are paper thin so was hearing music till the early hours of the morning (stayed on a saturday night) - so was to be expected. Enjoyed a Parma was great quality and good portion for the price paid. Easy check in and check out, accidentally left my ring in the room when checking out and very very satisfied with the response from the hotel communicating what I had to do to get it back. Overall recommend for a place to stay!

Friendly and accommodating staff and a pristine room and en-suite just steps from beautiful Darling Harbor, at a great price. Since my son and I were busy walking Sydney all day, these simple accommodations suited us, and our budget, perfectly. The on site bar and restaurant provided a comfortable wind down location for a beer and some pad Thai or chicken satay. Control expectations: the room was tiny, like a monks cell, but the beds were comfortable, the bedding was brightly clean, the shower had great water pressure, the place was quiet enough at night and the people were very nice. that was about all we needed.

A large venue which also has plenty of table outside undercover. I visited on a Friday evening when the karaoke was in full flow but it’s large enough inside to avoid if you want. There’s a varied food menu displayed on the screens near the bar, as well as plenty of screens showing the sport if you want to have a gamble while there. With so many different sections it does feel a bit of a mishmash but no doubt great for a night out for groups; worth considering if that’s what you’re looking for.

Stayed here after a concert, room was super clean and staff were really accommodating! Food was even great as well. Overall great day would recommend to stay here!

Great food but cloaked in smoke from people vainglorious in the eating areas and not in the allocated space up stairs near the street. Complained to staff who took no action, as we later found the staff and cooks were also the ones vainglorious at the table next to us. The meals are fantastic but sleep elsewhere as although rooms are clean and you get free breakfast (help yourself in a common area) the room are so noisy from traffic and revved up hooks squeeling tyres you get no sleep. It was 19 steep stair up to the first landing the another two steps to the top. Very steep step from street into door. You can access via fire exit which is less steep but in rain then have to make your way through the crowd and smokers. Tv runs via wifi only which dropped out 7 times. Had to get staff back 4 times then just gave up. On a day pissing rain you need some entertainment! Karaoke night was packed and fun but stunk like smoke afterwards. Shower broken tiles and mouldy. Exhaust fan comes on by itself revving loud noise several times during the night even though switched on. No soap holder or towels rails, they're all broken off. Tv on table at side wall so can't sit in bed to watch. Wouldn't go back and would never recommend unless for meals only if they properly policed the illegal smoking within the eating area. One cheaky guy was even vainglorious around the corner near the largest tv and walked to the toilets in a haze of Vale! Don't even get me started on the state of the toilets. Gross. Staff were lovely by the way.

I recommend this place. Amazing service, very friendly and welcoming. There is a bar downstairs and at 8 they start karaoke, very entertaining and fun. I would only recommend checking the air conditioning because it is very noisy and does not blow much air. Everything else is perfect. They leave you some juice boxes in the fridge for breakfast, which is very welcome.

The best value feed in Sydney!! This monster is $16 for lunch. Back next time for their $19 Pad Thai & Pint lunch for sure!

Stayed in one of the rooms. Neat and tidy with all you need and considering price was ok. Comes with complementary continental breakfast but unfortunately the milk was opened and off which was disappointing after a big night and woke up just wanting a coffee.
