A really good market, so much variety here- lots of clothing and accessories stalls, baked goods, hot food, drinks, crafty items, small plants and succulents and lots more. The layout is great with places to sit and enjoy your food as well as live music and most of the market is shaded by all the trees. We got there before opening time and got a park easily and it wasn’t too crowded however when leaving it was a lot busier. Would recommend checking out the market if you have a Saturday free!

A nice place to visit on the weekend when it's open, with a good selection of items available for sale. The most value-for-money section would be the second-hand clothes on sale, which can go for as low as $5 a piece. A steal if you can find clothes that fit you.

My old daugther told me to take her to the Glebe Market for shopping. There were a lot of preloved clothings for young ladies which she is going for. There were also bags and handmade products stalls. There were also food vehicle to buy and sitting on the glass for meal and chill. Overall, I had a wonderful time with my daugther at the Glebe Market.

Located in Glebe Public School Grounds on Derby Place, Glebe, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 These are a long running flea markets in the heart of Glebe. The are well known for vintage clothes, fantastic street food and the acoustic street entertainment are wonderful to sit and enjoy while having a bite to eat. The markets are reasonably easy to get to by public transport. I got the bus from Central Station. There are heaps of stalls with a fantastic selection from clothes (new and vintage) to arts and crafts to jewellery, second hand items and a lot more. There’s also a decent range of food stalls to choose from. There’s tables and chairs to sit at (though these can be occupied quickly due to the crowds) or you can sit on the grass. These markets are pretty popular so they get a very big crowd. They are held every Saturday from 10.00am to 4.00pm. The live music 🎶 helps promote a really relaxing, good atmosphere. It’s great to see all the artists showing their products. These are a real community based market. I loved them and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend 🥰. Thumbs Up! 👍👍👍

The Glebe Flea Market is a total goldmine if you’re someone who loves the thrill of the hunt; you can genuinely score some incredible hidden gems and vintage pieces for next to nothing, plus there’s always plenty of cool, crafty stuff to browse through. It’s got such a great vibe because once you’ve finished digging through the racks, you can just grab a bite to eat, flop down on the grass in the park, and listen to some live music. Just a fair warning: if you go in the summer, the heat can get pretty brutal while you're walking around. Definitely do yourself a favor and pack a hat, some sunnies, and maybe even a little handheld fan—and for sure wear something light and airy so you don’t melt while you’re searching for your next favorite outfit!

Glebe Markets has a great atmosphere and strong foot traffic, but unfortunately the stall holder costs are far too high compared to surrounding markets. Many stall holders consistently struggle to make a profit once fees are taken into account, even on busy days. The pricing structure makes it difficult for small businesses, creatives, and independent sellers to sustainably participate, which is disappointing given the market’s reputation. Until stall fees better reflect realistic earning potential, it’s hard to recommend this market from a stall holder’s perspective.

I LOVED going to this market when I lived in the area. I found so many cool clothing items that I still wear to this day. Everything is secondhand and therefore pretty cheap, and it was the ultimate thrift market. You can bargain prices and each booth had clothes that were totally different styles.

Glebe reminds me of Haight-Ashbury in SF, which attracts a certain type of crowd that I appreciate but am not a part of, thus 3 stars from me. Nice mid-sized market to dig around for curiosities, as there are vendors that carry everything from used clothes and shoes to jewelry and handbags. I also saw soaps and books for sale. This is definitely not your fresh veggies kind of farmers market. There are a few food vendors. I enjoyed a cup of refreshing cane juice, and my bf had a cup of coffee. Glebe market is on Saturdays only. In Sydney, catch a train to Central, and from there, catch a bus to Glebe. Use an Opal card for both. ;)

Came for the Festival on 20/11 and it was HUGE. Such a fun market, I can't wait to go back to the smaller weekly one and see who the regular vendors are. They had everything from sweet to savory, from religion to politics, from printed art to clothing to jewelry. As with markets, be sure to shop around and make sure you're getting the best price as many items are similar.

The Glebe Markets are one of the best things about the weekend! Operating every Saturday from 10am to 4pm, there's an interesting mix of stalls selling goods both old and new. As one of Sydney's longest running markets, Glebe gets pretty packed so if you've got an issue with crowds try to get there early. I've found some absolute gems at the second-hand record and book stalls, and if you're looking for a wardrobe filler you'll find some great quality vintage stalls here too. I've picked up a few good jackets and pieces of jewellery in the past, so these stalls are definitely worth a decent browse. There's also an amazing lolly shop and cute stalls selling hand-made goodies like quirky keyrings and earrings. Catch the 431 or 433 bus from Central Station, or the 436, 461 or 483 and hop off at Glebe Point Road. If you've got time, have a browse in the other shops along the main strip of Glebe, grab a cuppa and settle in for a good spot of people-watching.

As we arrive at Glebe Markets on a Saturday afternoon, the place is swarming with a vast majority of people. The area to be covered is large and not in any particular order. There are many narrow pathways leading to different parts of the market with plenty of stalls all selling different things. There are new and old stalls filled with jewellery, clothing, handmade silverware, glass objects, vintage goods etc. We stumble across a second-hand bookstall where tables are stacked with old books and records that have probably been read and listened to by hundreds of others before us. There is an instant culture about the market, the vibe is light and friendly and a live band keeps a positive and enjoyable feeling in the air. There are always plenty of people around. Some pathways hardly fit two-way traffic and the large crowds make it difficult to manoeuvre to other stalls, but this is all just part of the market culture. I generally come to Glebe markets to find good quality second-hand clothes. As of late, however, I have noticed that while there are still some of the original second-hand stalls left, they are coming less often and many of the newer stores only offer brand new products or handmade goods. I recommend checking out the teapot lady, wooden mirror man and the spoon bangle guy. The food is pretty good, although the prices seem to be climbing. Share a plate of Gozleme with a friend and sit on the grass (if there is any) in the open area and watch the band play in the afternoon sun.

Every Saturday from 10 to 4 an unassuming playground plays host to the Glebe market, a packed out event of stalls, music and food. The clothing stalls sell the best in vintage reinventions, brick a brac, and up and coming designers attract the coolest kids around whilst avoiding being pretentious. Yes, denim cutoffs are a compulsory part of the uniform but the atmosphere is very relaxed, a fact stressed by the talented busker who invited people to come and buy her CD or, if they were very fast runners, just to steal one. I felt like a fat kid in a candy shop and after a couple of circuits of the stalls swore to myself that I wouldn't buy clothes from a conventional shop ever again. The market takes all the ruthless hunting and high prices out of trendy clothing. Glebe Market is my new religion.

So many different trinkets available here. Situated conveniently just off broadway at Glebe Public School; this market definitely attracts the crowds from locals; including those living in nearby Annandale, and even those living in Newtown (fairly nearby) will make the effort to come here. Bohemian, trendy items. Good for any spiritual home, and it is living proof that Glebe is trying so hard (or is really becoming) a second Newtown in Sydney. A great walkthrough, and have come here with a couple of girlfriends while I was living in Sydney, yet none of us brought anything; yet it was great show and tell for us. A great mecca for socialising, entertainment (to some degree), clothes and jewellery of the tree of life variety. Anyone who loves (and probably lives) in Melbourne's St Kilda will also be home here. If silver jewellery is your thing in tandem with relishing tattoo's - agin you will feel right at home. This is the type of bohemian, hippy vibe that the Glebe Markets attracts every weekend. Glebe Point Road (now that construction re-development works are behind us) makes a great walking destination on the weekends; not only because of their great retail outlets: but also because of the Glebe Markets.

Glebe Markets are a fun Saturday morning frollick and the perfect way to spend a spring day. Very much a female orientated market, tonnes of stalls sell designer clothes a teeny bit cheaper than in the stores, whilst the rest are made up of a smattering of recycled clothing stores, second hand books, quaint and kitschy jewellery, teapots and handbags. Regardless of the fact that not much changes from week to week, the stalls are cute and quirky (my favourites: vintage japanese dresses, goats leather bags and recycled timber picture frames) and the storeholders seem to be friendlier than your average market-men - the belt man punched and adjusted my belt for the small fee of gratitude. The lanes are well worth a wander (and if you ask my male friends, they're the perfect place for 'window shopping'), just don't always expect to walk away with a bargain. My favourite thing about Glebe Markets is the moment when you've weaved your way like a mouse through a maze to the most rewarding section of the markets - the food. Here you can take your pick from the strip of stalls with fresh dumplings, mexican, sushi, freshly squeezed lemon juice and Guatemalan coffee before picking a spot on the open green grass to lie back in the sun and listen to the local buskers. At this moment it doesn't really mattier if you've walked away with a bargain or not, because happiness is priceless.

A great way to spend a morning! Glebe markets is great for people watching and hanging out. You'll find a ton of vintage clothing and an assortment of stalls selling new stuff. This reminded me of Fairfax Flea in LA, but with a friendlier price point. I thought everything was so reasonably priced here compared to other markets I've been to. If you do come for the shopping, they have a changing room just off the women's restroom that was small and only had one mirror that everyone was fighting over, but it was better than nothing. But, if you don't go for the shopping, go for the people watching!

I wouldn't really put this into a farmers market bracket as per the category its in. It's more of a clothes and "stuff" category rather than a real farmers market. There are a few veges and fruits for sale, but its mostly clothing, gifts and dream catchers. The occasional candle. That pretty much sums up the Sydney version of a farmers market. If you want a real farmers market, you probably have to go further afield than Glebe (though the Pyrmont one does a fair impression). Having said that, this market has a good feel to it, tends to be fairly packed and will often have a few things you can get for that odd birthday. Plus live music always helps. There are a few food stands worth checking out, and some worth missing - a few little organic food places and a mammoth corner in the upper left of the school its based in that has heaps of second hand clothing. If that floats your boat, dig in.

Thank you Glebe markets for bringing my Sydney-scattered friends into MY neck of the woods every Saturday. These markets are really remarkable. Geared toward a much younger crowd then, say, Paddington Markets, there's a little something for everyone here. I most enjoy the vintage clothing and accessory stalls were I've scored a great pair of cowboy boots ($60), some awesome distressed Levi jean shorts ($25) and a 60s German leather motorcycle jacket ($100). There are also several stalls of crafts. Standouts would include the feather fascinator stall with beautiful headpieces, hats, broaches and more. There is also a guy that makes incredible leather bound journals. I would have surely bought one by now if I could think of any words remarkable enough to fill its pages with. While I would say the market is geared toward the funky female crowd, there are also some things for the gents too, including a couple male-only vintage stalls and some sweet screen printed t-shirt stalls. There is also food and often music, which makes the whole sunshine shopping experience a well-rounded joy.

The grungiest of Sydney's markets, the Saturday markets in Glebe are great for the scavangers with plenty of excellent second-hand wares on sale. There's also a growing selection of new artsy bits and pieces and fashion to rival the more upmarket Paddington and Bondi markets. These markets get crowded though and the small site at Glebe Public School makes it a difficult area to navigate through the maze of stalls. Glebe Markets has an excellent food offering, better than any of the other markets, and offers lovely grass areas to sit and eat. There's also some great coffee on sale in the grounds and some pumping music to keep you happy whilst you move at a snails pace through the market stalls.

This is probably the most well known market in Sydney save for Paddys in Chinatown. If you fit the description of young hip female 20-somethings, or if you're looking to pick up those kinds of chicks, you're going to have a good time. Expect it to be mostly clothing catered to that demographic, along with eclectic art and accessories. There's live music every Saturday, I recommend getting a spinach and feta gozleme and sitting down in the grass area to watch the bands. It's great for travelers who are looking to fill out their wardrobe or for those moving on wanting to sell theirs.

As a West Coast American I have to explain to you, that when we here the word market we usually associate it with Farmers Market (selling food and produce) or Flea Markets (selling tacky lame mass produced junk). Glebe market represented none of these things. We might call this a fair, festival or bloc party which generally don't happen every weekend and usually producers are selling their crafts for exorbitant amounts. I really enjoyed this, even if it isn't the best market in Sydney!

Love the Glebe Markets! Don't let the smell of patchouli wafting through the gates keep you at bay, there's a lot for everyone here. Cool clothes, handmade jewelry, second hand clothes, books, records, crafts, etc. it has a very laid back vibe, and a lot more clothes, etc then Everleigh, so my recommendation is hit up Everleigh first and grab come coffee and your weekly provisions, then roll over here after dropping those off at home. Come here for all your clothes an nick nacks and you won't be left wanting. Cool and chill way to spend a Saturday...

Absolutely loved the Glebe Markets!!!! There are so many different vendors with all kinds of goodies - books, vintage clothing, food and leather goods. Even if you have no intentions of buying anything - it's a great way to spend your Saturday amongst Sydney siders and tourists. I totally recommend it!

I was pleasantly surprised by this market. I was hoping for some kind of fresh produce but it is mostly arts, craft, and clothing. There was a really nice atmosphere with the live music playing and some good food stalls around. There wasn't too much here that grabbed my attention but it was a lovely day, the music was nice, and everyone was friendly.

Compared to my last visit in 2010 the "trash slung by hippies" factor had increased around 10 fold. some good stuff... but it really depends on what you value in market wares

Awesome market to go to during the weekend! There's food stands, jerky for sale, and little jewelry stands. Honestly there's probably a little stand for everyone :) although not much to buy for me but if your a foodie like myself probably worth checking out!

more new arts and crafts than second hand goods, some nice food vendors. not very large but good for a pleasant hour to kill.

I love Glebe Markets. While I don't often make it due to location constraints, it's always a great day out. Held on Saturdays, my friends and I will drive over to Glebe for the morning. While parking can be a nightmare, the trash and treasure at the markets is worth the angst. I recently purchased a leather bag and have received many compliments! While some items are more expensive, there are some great finds to be had! It is best to get there early to secure the good stuff. Food stalls are also nearby and are great to keep your energy going. Other than clothing, there is also jewellery and art among other knick knacks. Glebe markets are mostly for a female target market, but I'm sure the guys would enjoy a browse, especially when there is plenty of food involved!

Wow I love these markets! My friend suggested I head to these markets while I was in Sydney and I didn't regret it! There were a huge variety of stores selling clothes, jewelry, art work, massages etc. I was in heaven! There were a lot of clothes stores that were selling items I have seen in other stores or online but they were sooo much cheaper! I bought some really cute colourful shorts for $20, a sterling silver necklace and a beautiful paper cut out art work which I am in love with! I also got a shoulder massage because I had the worst headache and for $30 it was cured! There was so much to look at here and if I had more money I think I could go pretty spending crazy in here. I went with my boyfriend and the only downfall to this place was that there wasn't much stuff for men to look at. Most of the stores were catered more for women and so he got pretty bored and ended up waiting around for me for at least an hour while I shopped haha. I will definitely be going back when I am in Sydney again!

Probably Sydney's most alternative market gig. A colourful fusion of vintage nostalgia and designer new. Don't eat before you get here, because the scrumptious array of market fare sends incredibly droolworthy aromas wafting about the place, which you're ultimately going to succumb to. There's a huge grassy area to chill out and eat on... although she's a little exposed to the sun which can get kinda hot in summertime. Clothing, accessories, sunnies, vintage gear and homewears, crate after crate of vinyl, and endless bric a brac. You've a good chance of unearthing a decent vintage handbag, and it's the perfect place to aimlessly wonder about in search of a gift. A crisp sunny winter or transitional day is your best bet. Otherwise pray for an inland breeze if it's hot. They're a friendly lot, and the palce has a great village vibe. It's hard to believe you're literally bordering the Sydney CBD. Feels much more like Byron or Bangalow with its laidback alternative vibe. So save the plane tickets to Byron, and make a bee line for Glebe instead!
