Gleeson's Roscommon (Hotel)

We had a great stay in Gleesons. The staff were so warm and welcoming both to us and our dog. Unlike most places we have experienced in Ireland which say they are dog friendly but really are dog tolerant (ie allow a dog in a room but have no provision for eating or drinking indoors)|Gleesons has a very comfortable lobby area with plenty of space to relax with your dog and have their full restaurant and bar menu there. While you’re not in the restaurant/bar you still have the atmosphere of the place as people flow through. Lots of locals coming and going and chatting so doesn’t feel your isolated off and has an open fire to warm us on a freezing cold day. |We got a warm welcome from all the staff and nothing was too much trouble you could tell the staff enjoyed working here. The restaurant had bistro style food that would satisfy everyone but the breakfast was our favourite. Full Irish with the best of local ingredients including incredible fresh baked soda bread and great coffee. |You are right in the middle of the town with lots of shops, pubs and restaurants around to explore. Also there is a great park just around the corner from the hotel that has the ruins of a castle a pond and lots of sculptures. So easy and handy for stretching the legs and giving the pooch a run. |We only stayed one night but definitely will return as lots to see and do in the locality and would be a great half way point if heading further west. ||Well done Gleesons |Other dog friendly hotels take note on how Gleesons do things !!!

Wonderful stay. Single room was beautiful, bed was plenty big and best of all LOADS of hot water for a bath! Generous amount of tea and coffee sachets in the room and uht milk (no fridge). I had breakfast included which again was generous with a choice of menu options served to me at the table. Very polite and professional staff. Car park gate and front door is locked at night so remember to get the code and bring your key if you go out.

I went for a Sunday meal with a friend. My friend ordered the roast beef special dinner half size and I ordered the full roast beef special dinner. When they arrived at the table the diners were both the same size in veg and potatoes but two slices of beef for half size dinner and ONE slice more for the full dinner. We had not been made aware of the prices, but when the bill came the half size dinner was 12.50 and the full size was 18.95 making a price of 6.25 EUR for ONE slice of beef. The food was nice but the price was disgusting. I cannot comment on the stay part as I didn't stay at hotel.

Clean room with comfortable bed and modern bathroom in a very central location. The staff were excellent and the breakfast was outstanding but I was not inspired to dine as I felt the pricing was high. Overall I would highly recommend.

The room was very clean cosy and comfortable. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Best breakfast you will find anywhere. Great location for bars, restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay at Gleesons again and would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in Roscommon.

The best in every way, our 4th visit and love the friendly staff, beautiful food and fabulous accommodation.|Best of all it's "pet friendly" and our dog Lucy is treated like a celebrity every time. Receptionist Colette is a gem💎 too.|Can't wait until our next visit!

A really lovely, friendly and comfortable hotel to stay. In the heart of Roscommon town with lovely cafes, bars and shops .|The hotel is spotless, room was very spacious and clean. The breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty. Dinner in the restaurant was lovely. A lovely coffee shop with great scones and cakes is an added bonus for the hotel.|Every member of staff was really friendly and helpful.

Worth booking table for dinner, we had to go next door, rooms are okay clean but not modern for the price. Building is lovely and has great open air area in front to sit out in. Staff are very nice and friendly.
