"The Oetker Collection has been converting period homes for its new range of private, all-inclusive Masterpiece Estates. Among them is Glen Affric, with its Victorian lodge and stables on the shores of Loch Affric, surrounded by 10,000 acres of wilderness."

Did a great circular walk in perfect weather—no midges, but quite some flies, so bring insect repellent. We went clockwise, starting on the Coire Loch trail (yellow), then joined the Dog Falls trail (red), and added the final viewpoint spur (white). Took about 2 hours. The lake and forest were nice, but the Dog Falls themselves were hard to see in their full splendour. The final viewpoint was the highlight—amazing views over Loch Beinn a’ Mheadhoin and the mountains, with two small benches perfect for our picnic. Trails are marked as strenuous but very manageable. Paid parking (£3, coins/card), free toilets at the start.

Often called Scotland's most beautiful glen, and for good reason. Ancient Caledonian pine forests fringe lochs so perfectly still they create mirror images of the surrounding hills. The walking trails range from gentle lakeside strolls to challenging mountain hikes. Keep an eye out for red squirrels darting among the pines and golden eagles soaring high above the rugged peaks.

A simply stunning location in the highlands. If you go in the autumn prepare for all weather. We had rain one minute, bright sun the next! You'll get wet crossing streams so wear wellies or waterproof walking boots. From the Loch Affric circuit car park, walk anti-clockwise around the Loch to do the full loop. The first section is along a private road, however, walkers can use it as it then leads onto the unpaved walking path. Expect to walk for a good 5 to 6 hours to complete the circuit, depending on how many pictures you stop to take of the first class scenery.

The autumn colours this week have been stunningly beautiful in the bright sunshine, and a dusting of snow on the highest mountain ridges has made for unforgettable panoramas. A visit is highly recommended.

Unusual time to visit this place but absolutely loved the frosty look of the nature… astonishing beauty. Would definitely visit again in Summertime for hiking the trail..

Claimed to be the most beautiful Glen in Scotland and it does not disappoint. We did the short 1km loop along the river and then went across the road and did the 500m jaunt up to the viewpoint. Had a nice weather day (no rain), so the views were lovely. The arboreal forest is beautiful with Heather and Caledonian pinewood trees. The single track road access takes patience and time to navigate. Recommend this gem ❤️
