We visited Glen Carlou Wine Estate's restaurant and wine tasting facility. Their food was exceptional as was the service from Muriel. We started off with a Chef's treat which was potatoe and bacon soup.
Starters
My husband had as a pulled beef and onion soup paired with Glen Carlou Grand Classique. I had calamari paired with Glen Carlou Chardonnay.
Mains
Vension stew (which was a generous portion) was paired with their Cabernet Sauvignon, .
The wild mushrooms risotto was paired with a Chardonnay.
All the dishes were amazing and well paired.
After lunch we opted to do a wine tasting, which is served with a snack platter. Our host, Dylan was extremely knowledgeable of their wines and the history of the estate. He also gave us exceptional service. We will definitely go back.
Glen Carlou specialises in Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Our personal favourite was the Collection red blend and the Grand Classique 2022.
