Glen Carlou

We visited Glen Carlou Wine Estate's restaurant and wine tasting facility. Their food was exceptional as was the service from Muriel. We started off with a Chef's treat which was potatoe and bacon soup. Starters My husband had as a pulled beef and onion soup paired with Glen Carlou Grand Classique. I had calamari paired with Glen Carlou Chardonnay. Mains Vension stew (which was a generous portion) was paired with their Cabernet Sauvignon, . The wild mushrooms risotto was paired with a Chardonnay. All the dishes were amazing and well paired. After lunch we opted to do a wine tasting, which is served with a snack platter. Our host, Dylan was extremely knowledgeable of their wines and the history of the estate. He also gave us exceptional service. We will definitely go back. Glen Carlou specialises in Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Our personal favourite was the Collection red blend and the Grand Classique 2022.

Had a wine tasting to find some good wines for pairing. The staff were educated, friendly and super helpful. We really enjoyed the tasting experience and especially the Bourdeux blend. Would love to come by some time for lunch!

Went there for wine tasting on 05 October 2024 and we were not disappointed. Our seating options were either at the bar or outside on the high chairs. We opted to sit at the bar as we just came from another farm and it was hot outside with no breeze in sight. The person who served us was very professional. We ended up buying two bottles of wine. Beautiful views on the outside and friendly staff. Inside there is also an art gallery which you can view. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will most definitely recommend it.

Stunning views and delicious food. There's an art gallery with interesting local art inside. The highlight was definitely the friendly and highly efficient staff. So kind and welcoming. Made me feel taken care of and it was such a great atmosphere. Wish I could remember the names of the ladies who served me. They deserve so much praise! Highly highly recommend.

A simple and relaxing lunch overlooking the vineyard. Food is tasty and substantial, nothing extraordinary but beautifully paired to showcase the wine. Booking lunch in advance is essential. Good selection of red wines. Pairings and tastings available. A wonderful vineyard experience.

Delicious lunch at the restaurant today, seated outside with impressive sweeping views across to Paarl Rock. Fast and friendly service, and very good wines. Even though the restaurant was quite full, it was a peaceful and quiet setting. Nice playground near the restaurant entrance for kids.

Wonderful food,I had the ostrich, which I highly recommend. The shiraz wine was a good pairing. The scenery is beautiful, definitely worth a stop.
