Just back from a lovely weekend celebrating my Mother in laws 80th bday. We just love going to Glen Clova Hotel and Lodges. We stayed in one of the Glen Lodges this time, it was ideal for us all, plenty room, kitchen is fitted with everything you need, doesn't have a log burner but the gas fire was just as lovely and cosy. Had a meal in the hotel which was lovely, we ate in the Climbers bar as restaurant was full, nice and cosy with the fire on, staff are all very accommodating and friendly, special shout out to Jenny behind the bar and Mhairi the hotel manager who both couldn't do enough for you. My husband and i are already booked again for March. Look forward to seeing you all again then.

My wife and I are currently enjoying our stay in one of the Hideaway lodges and enjoying the hot tub on snowy afternoons is a true delight to be savoured . Everything spotlessly clean when we arrived as always and the food on offer at the hotel is of the highest quality with slow roasted venison a favourite. The staff here are hard working , friendly and attentive to customers .||We return every year to our absolute favourite place to relax and enjoy our time together and Glen clova never disappoints. ||The staff , the food and the beautiful location couldn't be bettered ||Thanks to all at Glen clova for always making our stay special ||The only downside is the fact it's our last day and we have to go home tomorrow!||5 🌟 as always

Hired a cottage for New Year festivities for 4 nights. Cottage itself was lovely with beautiful scenic views from the sitting room. Staff were excellent and very friendly from reception, waiting and housekeeping nothing was too much trouble and quickly addressed any issues. Beutiful walks around area. Only downside was the very late check-in and very early checkout which maybe could be addressed. Would recommend to anyone wanting to celebrate a New Year away from hone.

We are still here now staying in one of the clova lodges. I don't really do reviews but felt I had to on this occasion. Every year we do a couple of UK breaks, mostly in lodges and have never returned to the Same place twice........ this is a place that we will come back to!! The hotel / restaurant/ bar is wonderful, the lodge is absolutely stunning (the photos online do not do the justice in my opinion) and the surrounds are breath taking. Everything is thought of, tea / coffee / milk and fizz in the fridge for our arrival, cleaning products, soap, good quality glasses / utensils and furniture, slippers, logs for the fire .... so many little touches like this. The lodge is spotlessly clean and much bigger than I expected. I was a little unsure about how remote this place is but honestly, we havent wanted to venture away from these beautiful surroundings. I would highly recommend here and can't wait to return. ||My only one negative (and this has not impacted our holiday at all) is that we usually like to go for a few drinks each evening but the bar is used as a restaurant and the tables are all reserved from around 6pm so we have had to just stock up in our lodge instead, although we have eaten there a few times and it has been wonderful, I would just like to be able to nip over for a drink without reserving a table. Most places don't allow reservations in a bar area, just in the restaurant area which I think works and allows people to drink in the bar. Again this has not impacted out holiday and I just wanted to mention it so people know to maybe stock up on drinks when they come rather than expect to use the pub each day.

Fabulous meal, attentive and welcoming staff. Prompt service throughout the evening despite being very busy. The comedy act from Wray Thompson was fab and made us friends with strangers at our table as we laughed the evening away. Looking forward to going back for meals and fun with friends during 2025. 5* well deserved and thank you xx

My wife and I booked the Hogmanay and New Year break at Glen Clova. I would have no hesitation in recommending this break. We had a fabulous time. The bar area is so cosy, the food was excellent, the location is fantastic, the ceilidh and fireworks night were great fun, but best of all was the staff. Nothing was too much trouble - "not a problem" seems to be their catchphrase! We were planned to sit in a mixed group of 5 couples but when we discovered an hour before the Hogmanay event started that friends of ours had also booked the break, we asked the staff if there was any possibility of re-arranging our respective tables - "not a problem!". We will most definitely be going back - and not just at New Year!

Mhari, helped us when we were in a bit of a poor situation. Offered to help us in every way imaginable. Honestly don’t have enough good words to say about her, very very lovely person. Along with the food was great and the facilities were fantastic. But without a doubt Mhari is a star.

This was our second Hogmanay break at Glen Clova - a 4 day break for us from our busy lives in London and it really did give us a perfect relaxing but fun stay in an amazing setting - so peacefully beautiful. The Hogmanay package is such good value with outstanding local food and a very extensive menu from which to chose from and the entertainment provided was top notch. We stayed in the Old Mill Lodge which was beautiful and especially the hot tub where we enjoyed watching the star with snow coming down on our faces - what an experience. Best of all are the wonderful team who work there - in particular Mhaire (Manager), Fiona and Jenny and actually I have to say everyone else also!! The chef is very talented and serves up wholesome and well presented meals at each sitting - including the breakfast. You may arrive as a guest but go home as both a friend and family. Ladies, you really are a breath of fresh air and such lovely people who give the most outstanding welcome anyone could ask for. We will be back of courses!

Yelp
A superb location in the most spectacular of the angus glens, and one of the finest areas of the scottish highlands. It's the perfect point to start good walks of any type, depending on your ability. But it doesn't take any walking skills to reach the stunning lakes up the mountains and admire the spectacular views. However, the hotel itself is not as special The food is not that amazing, but it's quite expensive. The manager can often make guests feel uncomfortable as she is often on the edge because of stress. Do not expect to be mollycuddled! I would rather recommend people to spend the evening here, or to have a break from the walks drinking something in the afternoon, but not more.

Yelp
I like the Glen Clova hotel for its situation and wonderful log fires. The food is fairly reasonable but the vegetables slightly over done at times. However still enjoyable and good for a night out. The staff are very friendly and drinks fairly priced for a hotel. Afternoon tea is very nice with a great choice of teas and comfortable sofas with free wifi. There are many beautiful walks near to the hotel and it is well worth a visit in the evening or during the day. As a local I have been tempted to try a weekend in their log cabins which provide a private sauna and hot tub.

Yelp
I decided to treat my lovely mum for her birthday to a stay and dinner at the Glen Clova hotel. I have been trying for years to get her there as I knew she would love it. After a lovely day hiking we checked in to our lovely twin room. Bathroom was huge and a lovely hot bath was just what the dr ordered. Dinner was amazing and hot. My mum is one of the fussiest eaters I have ever met and even she could not find a fault. In the morning the breakfast room was full but the way the lady handled the situation was excellent. We were placed in the dining room which we were much happier with anyway as nicer views and quieter. Breakfast again was amazing. Have been to Glen Clova loads and nice to have my mum agree that it is really a lovely place to visit whether for a drink after a days hike or for a stay.
