"On the verdant banks of the River Ness sits Glen Mhor, a historic hotel with a variety of lodgings. Traditionally furnished in earthy hues, accomodations range from 75 guest rooms spread across eight Victorian buildings, to 10 apartments with fully equipped kitchens and a four-bedroom house with a riverside garden. Whichever you choose, you’ll also have access to the on-site restaurant Nicky Tam’s, which serves traditional Scottish fare alongside 90 whiskies and 15 gins. Dine inside by the fireplace or enjoy your meal in the outdoor beer garden overlooking the river."

3/5 mainly because of the restaurant and value. The evening meal was underwhelming and overpriced, our poor waitress seemed overworked and you could tell service would have been better with more available staff. Food came out late and wrong. Breakfast was terrible, limited options, and the little I ate wasn't great. I recommend eating somewhere else. The room was massive and had a great view of the river and city. Big comfortable bed and a separate shower and bath. However it did seem quite overpriced. Very basic room amenities, no water, tissues, fridge, shower cap etc in a "luxury" room. Check in was at 4pm and we were slightly early so had to pile our bags up in the bar with no offer to store them. In a city you expect to pay more for a hotel but overall I think it could have been better. Felt like it was set up for large coach trip groups.

The location is excellent – right in the city center. But that’s pretty much the only positive thing. The hotel claims to be 4 stars, but it honestly feels more like 2 – and even that might be generous. There were no bathrobes, no slippers, no minibar. The room looked nothing like the photos online. I expected a cozy brick townhouse but was placed in a strange side building with completely different and outdated decor. Breakfast wasn’t included and wasn’t worth paying for – no fresh vegetables, no fruit selection, no pastries. There was barely anything to eat. I paid extra for a river view, but the dirty windows ruined it. If guests are charged extra for the view, the windows should definitely be cleaned much more often. The room itself wasn’t clean either, despite the late check-in at 4 pm and early check-out at 11 am – it’s unclear what’s being done in that time. The wardrobe was tiny with only a few hangers, and the hairdryer was located in the bedroom, which makes no sense after a shower. Wouldn’t stay here again.

We loved our stay at Glen Mhor. Our family of 6 stayed in Apartment 5, which is beautifully renovated. The beds were comfortable and we did not notice any street noise or noise from the distillery. We loved going to M&S to grab easy meals to prepare in the smartly equipped kitchen. Coffee, tea and milk were stocked in the kitchen. The breakfast buffet at the Waterside Restaurant was included in our stay, and was delicious and plentiful. The location along the waterfront is pretty and convenient to all the action in Inverness.

Our brief stay in Glen Mohr Inverness was excellent! At first I was skeptical on the location but was surprised by their great accommodations (Apartment and Hotel Rooms are available for reservations). We stayed at the 2 bedroom (1 King and 2 Twin) bed and a living room. The Unit is very clean and spacious! The property is about 5 min walk from city center, situated along the river was great for runners and for walking their dogs. They have a whiskey and beer distillery built within the property and available for guest and public just behind the receptions desk. I did the distillery tour and tasking which was great! They also have their restaurant "The Water Side" which is great for dining. buffet set up) which was nice! The front office staff was very friendly and the bar tender during the evening that serves us drinks provided the most exceptional bar tending service. I don't recall if his name was Lucas. But he was super nice, very informative very friendly to all the guest. Highly recommend this place and we hope to comeback here again someday!

What a disappointment! We had hoped for a 4-star experience but reality was for 2 ! The room was old with a “dusty” smell and it really needed a brush-up. The breakfast could only have been made by a CFO, who wanted to optimize to get the cheapest products possible! It sounded interesting that the hotel was part of the distillery (we thought craftsmanship, good food, fun experience) but that’s just an open door between then (and a common owner) This seems to be a place that runs thinking “new turist - new profit”. On the positive side, the location is good and the distillery did really well itself!

The location was great and put us within walking distance of all of the things that we wanted to see and do. Having an apartment gave us many of the comforts of home while we were on vacation. The apartment seemed to have been recently remodeled and was very smart.

I booked a twin room for 2 nights and was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The room was bright and spacious and part of one of the houses on the terrace. Breakfast was included and it was very nice. Sadly we didn't have time to visit the distillery but I would stay here and do that if I am returning to Inverness.

Did a car tour of Scotland over 6 days. This was the most expensive so I was expecting a wow when I went to my room. Oh my God awful. Bar area was nice and about the only thing good about the place. Evening meal in restaurant was chaotic. Manager needs sorting out . Breakfast was not very good. They seemed to cater mainly for coach tours as full of Italians and Americans. This is fourth hotel I've stayed in Inverness. I doubt I'll be going back .

Yelp
Disgusting. Paid full price and booked months in advance to be given a mouldy apartment where everything is broken and grubby. No grab handles so my elderly mum can't have a bath or shower. Black mould in the bathroom. Broken beds. No privacy so anyone walking the public alley alongside the apartment can look in. Can't open the windows because anyone could reach in. Just an awful experience.

Yelp
Don't even bother considering staying here. The staff was not helpful and often confused about what to do and how to help. We stayed in the family apartments owned by the hotel. We were first brought to the wrong apartment. After that we got to our room to discover we had no hot water. It was important to be able to shower at night so we wouldn't miss our morning tour. They could not help us and had no other accommodations to move us too. I begged them for an alternate place to shower at least. Nothing. The next day they temporarily fixed it around noon. Our plans were ruined. When I tell you the water was cold, it was frigid. I cried while attempting to shower. There was also no WiFi in our apartment. I requested a partial credit, the manager Jon refused. He said we were not guaranteed hot water. Ridiculous! I hope he gets cold water only for every trip he takes for his next vacation. You get three basic things when booking a hotel: beds, hot water, WiFi. We were denied two out of the three. Nothing was done to make it up to us. No partial discount, no offer of free breakfast for our next morning, nothing. Also no one told us we had to pre-book breakfast before arrival. So we couldn't even have breakfast at their restaurant if we wanted. Do not recommend. Do not recommend. Find a less expensive place that has basic accommodations.

Yelp
Everything about hotel was bad. Rooms are old, small. The food was terrible. One person in dining area of 40 people. Our tour director ended up cleaning tables off from previous group so we could sit down to eat. Breakfasts & 1 dinner was included but we ended up eating our meals out. Bar needs more help, they were slow & definitely overworked.

Yelp
Small, outdated rooms. Buffet served to travel group was terrible . Hotel does have a good location

Yelp
We stayed here for several days in mid-August. Our room was in the same building as The Waterside Restaurant and the outdoor bar. The room was one of the largest we have ever had in the UK. The bed was comfortable, and the room was nicely appointed with two leather chairs, a desk, a large closet, etc... The bathroom had a large (for the UK) shower, and all was clean. The wifi worked great, and the speed was good. I had a solid signal in the room. Check-in was easy, and the front desk staff was nice. There is lots of parking if you drive. The hotel does not have air conditioning, but the room's temperature with the windows open was lovely. The only issue with the room was the music from the bar playing with the windows open and some cigar smell forcing us to keep some of the windows closed. The hotel hosts a lot of travel companies. Every day we stayed there, you could find one or two busses of people staying there, but they had a separate breakfast area. One of the front desk staff was very helpful, and one was friendly but not very knowledgeable. We asked for food recommendations and she told us to open the app open table and book from there, and the app had reviews, so we could pick from there. It was as if she didn't know the area. The on sight restaurant was OK for breakfast, but we eat there one evening, and I would pass. The food just a few blocks away was some of the best we had all trip and this place was not of the highest quality. However, the full English breakfast was very good. We would stay here again.

Yelp
Definitely would not recommend unless you're in a pinch. Overpriced for a very poorly maintained hotel. We lost power in our room as well for quite a while. Thought I'd book a river view room but no. Looking out at an alley and directly into someone else's window.

Yelp
We stayed in the "strautin". This hotel has other small buildings right next to it. They have 4 or so other buildings. Parking is behind the hotel. We had room 520. It was clean and ok size. Not huge but what we expected. It seems the bought the houses/apt's next to them and made each one a room. I'm fine with that. It was cozy. Great spot to explore the city and the staff was really friendly. I only wish they warned you they have no elevator in most of the buildings so we wouldn't have to carry our luggage up the stairs. We would have left some of it in the car if we knew that before we walked up 2 floors with 5 suitcases. Not a huge deal but it would have made our 12 hour travel a little easier.

Yelp
Decently priced hotel with a lot of character. it is right off of Loch Ness, therefore, a great view. It's also centrally located so you can walk to the Inverness Castle, loads of restaurants and shops, and a Tesco supermarket. Front desk and hotel restaurant staff are very friendly and helpful when giving recommendations on what to do in Inverness. Rooms are clean, from what I can tell. My only complaint is that there was no hot water the last night of my stay. I was traveling with two others and they experienced the same thing. Cold showers in 50 degree (Fahrenheit) weather is not ideal and I would recommend that they invest in a larger water heater to accommodate all of their guests, especially when the temperature in Scotland is a bit "fresh" even in the summer time. Also, they don't take Amex.

Yelp
We arrived late after a mad dash from Galway-Dublin Airport-Glasgow-Inverness. Cecilia at check-in was gracious. However, the waitress at breakfast was anything but. Kevin nailed it about the room appointments. The radiator oscillates and the drain makes a loud gurgling noises. The mattress sags like a hammock, and the pillows feel like sacks of flour.

Yelp
The hotel proper is quite pleasant, with a generous and comfortable lounge area. Jazz plays on some nights in the pub, and there are tables outside in the courtyard where you can have a drink and enjoy the view of the river. The included breakfast included a good variety and and the quality was fine. Unfortunately, the Family Room in the 'Cottage' was depressingly dreary. The retrofit was horrible, with dirty, stained lino and wallboard poorly installed. Dark and drab; well below the quality I expected for the price. Perhaps if you get a better room...

Yelp
The location of this hotel is great-directly across from the river, walking distance to all, and good parking. But that is literally all this place has going for it. The room had been cleaned, but was still dirty, with stains on the carpet, which was old & in desperate need of replacement. The shower was not large enough for a grown man, the water pressure was terrible, the lights flickered, and the spare linens were all kept on the floors in the closets. The smell was not great, and there was only one window, which was incredibly filthy, so the air did not circulate. It's an extra charge to have your room cleaned and get fresh towels. We tried to have a few cocktails at the bar before going to sleep and the bartender and waitress looked so miserable and forlorn, it was all quite depressing. The wifi is also terrible. Fortunately we weren't at the hotel much, would not stay again.

Yelp
Great location and the room we were in was very spacious with a great bathroom! Reception was accommodating (albeit slightly cold) and called us a taxi to the rail station. However, internet and a WiFi connection is non-existent except in the bar area. The bed was pretty comfortable, however if you're expecting to be able to have internet access to work or anything: think again!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, delicious food and wonderful location on the river! We had the opportunity to stay out late and wander all around Inverness.

Yelp
Hotel was actually pretty good. Rooms were very nice and location was great near the castle. 3 stars because the staff was generally pretty cold. The front desk staff were very short and we even heard them talking badly about other guests in front of us. Service staff in the restaurant was slightly better but if you stay, it's for the price/room/location and not the staff/service.

Yelp
This was a fab hotel, every staff member was helpful and pleasent. The food was excellent, both the evening meal and the breakfast. The room was great, good bed, nice layout, warm and welcoming. I will be back again. Price was very good after finding an online deal :-).
