Hiked the yellow/red trails. Yellow trail is definitely not for beginners; proper preparation (well-fitting waterproof footwear, drinking water or water purification gear, rain gear, maybe even an extra pair of dry socks) is critical. Yellow trail was surprisingly muddy for most of its length, even up high, and one or two spots are a bit exposed (don't slip or lose your grip!) and require scrambling. Fantastic views and a great workout though! Definitely will take you to a crest where you can overlook the valley on the other side of the park. Banger of a hike (so long as you can handle the wet and mud)! If you tie it in with a visit to the stone circle on the way in, you will have an awesome day trip from Kenmare.
