We had a fantastic stay at Glenisla Hotel. This is our third stay and this time we had our Grandfurry staying with us. He was welcome throughout the hotel including the bar and restaurant. The room was exceptionally clean and very cosy and had lots of information sheets which was helpful. We were also forewarned about a live band that were playing in the bar area, we could hear them in our room but they were quite good and finished at a reasonable hour. We could see the stars through the skylight window which was lovely and made for a peaceful end to the night.

Relatively remote location, about 30 mins drive from Blairgowrie, in traditional coaching inn premises. Bedrooms, bathrooms and bar are modernised and comfortable. Bar has good selection of local products, including beers and gins. |Breakfast options are limited if you do not have a sweet tooth - I would have liked natural yoghurt, or unsweetened porridge, and a grater selection of fresh fruit. |Similarly, although the restaurant menu in the evening has well cooked dishes, especially the Cullen Skink soup, the range of dishes is very limited. Vegetarians are going to have very few options. |But I have stayed here before, and I will return again.

Ideally placed on the Cateran trail, served as a very welcome overnight stay. The accommodation was faultless - clean, comfortable, warm, well presented etc. The breakfast was a serve-yourself affair which worked very well. Although I did not meet the proprietor, they were easily contactable in case of any problems (not that there were any). A slightly unusual arrangemement - the restaurant is run as a separate business but clearly the owners of the hotel and the restaurant have an excellent relationship. The food at the restaurant is very good and pretty plentyful - very welcome froma long day's hike.

Parked our campervan in the carpark & stayed for the night. A really nice friendly welcome from the staff & some locals in the bar. Limited menu on a Sunday but the roast was delicious and a nice pint to go with it. Beautiful location & stunning views with a lovely walk up to the cairn on the hill. Excellent overall & we will return next year 😁 John & Kat

A gem of a place high up in an Angus Glen with a couple owning and running the place with a real innovative, can do, will do attitude to make it work. Bedrooms are superb. Environmentally sensitive recent upgrading. Location is incredible anybody who is not used to 1st class accommodation in remote places would really enjoy this.. and great value for money.|Three brothers cycled there with some real hills but loved it.

Lovely little hotel, team are so helpful and friendly, cannot do enough for you. The food is tasty and there is a good variety of choice. Warm and welcoming in the bar with great craic and good whisky. We stayed in a room on the ground floor and the walls are a little on the thin side so it's good to be mindful of other guests.

Very clean and comfortable. Good chat in the bar, too. Arrived late and left early, so didn't 'experience' other aspects of the hotel. Breakfast box in room was fine for a flying start.

Yelp
The restaurant and the hotel were wonderful. Very friendly staff :) We told them in advanced that we were vegan and they accommodate us by adding 6(!) menu options for dinner as well as a vegan breakfast. The room was modern, comfortable and very clean.
