I participated in the 2025 Loch Ness marathon and chose this hotel due to proximity to the event village and also the anticipated level of comfort pre and post race. Despite booking nearly a year in advance I still paid upwards of £600 for a two night stay (not including breakfast). Whilst I appreciate accommodation is at a premium during marathon weekend and prices inflated as a result, I still feeling this represents extremely poor value for money. We were allocated a room in the annex directly above the function room. Upon checking in we were helpfully told an event would be taking place that night and hopefully there wouldn’t be “too much noise”. Had we been warned in advance I would have made alternative arrangements. Instead, we were forced to listen to thumping bass until 12 am. Even when the music subsided I found it really difficult to relax and drift off to sleep. Not ideal prep for running a marathon and frankly I felt my performance was impacted as a result, which is pretty crushing when you’ve trained for 16 weeks to achieve a specific time goal. Aside from the sleep disruption, the room was probably 3* at best and could definitely have used some modernisation, the bathroom was functional but basic. We ate in the restaurant one evening and whilst the food was very good, the overall atmosphere was pretty raucous with several large groups celebrating birthdays. To add - my husband complained about the noise the following day and the manager agreed to take some money off the bill. Whilst we appreciate the gesture I’d advise anyone looking for a restful night sleep to ensure they are not likely to encounter the same issues as we did. The hotel is used by a lot of tour groups so you may find they are allocated the better/quieter rooms, irrespective of when the booking is made.

I'm surprised to read someone else describe this hotel as a boutique hotel... I'm afraid it's far from that!|I was attending a show across the river at Eden Court, so chose this hotel specifically for it's proximity to the venue. |On arrival, I was informed my room was in the Windsor Suite, an annexe to the main hotel (room 23).|On entering the room I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room. The wardrobe had sufficient hangers for me, but if a couple were staying any length of time, there wouldn't be enough. There was a long mirror on the inside of the wardrobe and a big mirror at the dressing table, which is great. However, no decent light around the mirror for applying make-up or hair styling purposes, and like most hotels nowadays, the lighting in the room in general is poor...a few table lamps, no central ceiling lamp or standard lamps. |I went into the bathroom and apart from a decent-sized shower cubicle, I was rather disappointed. It was freezing cold and felt damp. There was black mildew on the ceiling above the shower and elsewhere, the mirrored bathroom cabinet was old, rusty & disgusting inside, the heated towel rail was inadequately tiny, no use for drying the bath sheet and there was a strange camber on the floor, which meant you stood on a slight slope (I appreciate that nothing can be done structurally, but it felt weird!) I also discovered that a ceiling fan in the bathroom had been switched off - could explain the mildew - and used the suitcase stand to switch it on as it was too high to reach. |The following morning I found my towel was still damp from the night before (Is hung it over the shower cubicle) so ended up using a fresh one, which is wasteful but necessary. I also noticed the floor was still damp with condemnation from my shower the night before. |On the plus side, there are lovely soft, big bath sheets and I found the bed very comfortable. |I had dinner at the hotel but wasn't overly impressed with the menu. I opted for a chicken tikka salad served in a poppadum 'bowl'....very basic salad with chicken tikka pieces that looked like supermarket-bought. My main was a lamb curry with gnocchi (a bit bizarre). The lamb was very fatty so not much actual meat and the sauce with puy lentils was not to my taste. The other main course options didn't appeal to me. Breakfast was nothing special. The continental choices were basic. I had scrambled eggs with salmon, which was done to perfection, but there was just too much egg, so I couldn't finish it. I didn't bother with cereal etc|All in all, my stay was pleasant enough, the staff were friendly & welcoming, and I had a great night's sleep. However, room 23's bathroom needs updating, with a bit of maintenance re the damp issue, and a bigger more adequate towel rail. |Not sure I'd stay here again if I found myself requiring an overnight stay in Inverness.

The best hotel in Inverness. I fell in love with the old style decoration, beautiful cottages, our gorgeous room, every detail is cozy and stylish. The staff is super nice and helpful. Perfect location and views of the river Ness and the city. The restaurant serves amazing local food, perfect culinary experience. Live music in the piano bar, so cool. We will return for sure.

We stayed in Apartment 1 on our first and last nights in Scotland, and it was perfect. I chose the Glenmoriston for its location on the Ness Walk and am so happy I did. The apartment was large, clean, and well-equipped (and it had its own assigned parking place!), and the location is beautiful and walkable to the city. The breakfast was one of the best we had while in Scotland. I would 100% stay here again!

Nice older boutique hotel close to city center with a few quirks. Our room, #18 was very large, particularly for the UK, and clean. However, it was showing a bit wear and could use some updating. When we arrived the radiator in the hall was making a good bit of noise but fortunately stopped by the time we returned from dinner. As we did not spend much time in the room and everything was sorted by bedtime it was perfectly fine. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast and breakfast service were good. The dining room at breakfast was very busy when we arrived at about 08:00 but mostly dissipated shortly thereafter. As we were touring with a fluid schedule, we were unable to make reservations for the Contrast Brasserie. Be aware that the kitchen closes at 21:00 (both restaurant and bar). Actually, it appeared that most of the Inverness restaurants close at about 21:00. We assumed it was due to staffing issues. One night we arrived back at the hotel about 20:30 and could not be seated. While we looked for an alternative restaurant our time ran out pretty much everywhere except McDonalds. We ended up having pizza delivered via Deliveroo ( I will spare you a description). The bar was stylish with a good selection and really good service. The bar stayed open later than the restaurant albeit without food.||Given the volume of tourists and the limited hotels in Inverness the Glenmoriston Townhouse is a good option if now reaching a bit for that 4th star.

When we first stayed here we loved it so much we booked it again for the following year. It's the perfect location to just walk into the city and enjoy beautiful Inverness. Also the car park is a huge plus. The staff is extremely friendly and the breakfast is absolutely delicious! We will come back again when we will be staying in Inverness. :)

Less than impressed with this so called 4-Star hotel. First off, the bed was terribly soft and having requested twin beds, they were the smallest twin beds I've ever experienced. Secondly, room wasn't cleaned to normal expectations. Carpet was stained, the walls had water damage on them, used cups/glasses where not replaced the next day, cleaning rags were left on the sink in the bathroom and the bathroom window was broken and shabbily replaced with a secondary window put over the originally broken one. ||The initial front desk person (reddish hair) was super nice and helpful, however the person we next had to deal with was rude and made us feel like we were bothering her when we had to deal with her. ||This hotel was booked for us by a travel agent, however I've already reached out to them to indicate how very disappointing this hotel was. The location was about the only good thing about it, but the rest was truly very disappointing. ||Finally, upon checking out, we were advised that our bill would be charged to the card used at check-in. THIS WAS PREVOUSLY ALREADY PAID FOR. There shouldn't have been another bill except for incidentals which we did not use. Never again will I stay at this Hotel. No Thank You.

While some aspects of this hotel were quite good, it was not exactly what I had expected. The staff for the most part were polite, professional and friendly. The breakfast was pretty good although there could be more options. The room itself was small and quite outdated. The carpet needs to be replaced. There are heavy cloth curtains over the windows that are just dust collectors. The room we stayed in needs a total revamp. The bed was pretty bad. Each morning we were awoken by loud plumbing noises when other clients were using the water/shower. Often the hot water in the sink would suddenly turn cold. The bathroom is also very outdated. Our room was on the second floor of an annex building. There is no elevator and we had to carry two very heavy suitcases up the stairs….no one told us this when we checked in and no one offered to help us with our bags. There is no safe in the room and there is no fridge. The room overall was dull, dark and dingy. The cleaning staff would fail to fully replenish everything in the room, something would always be overlooked. There area the hotel is located in is very nice, right beside the river Ness. However, it is a bit of a walk from the main streets in town, which is fine if you enjoy the privacy and a don’t mind a short walk to town. When we checked out no one asked if we had an enjoyable stay or thanked us for or stay. During our stay, no one bothered to ask if we were having a good stay or if we needed anything. Overall, we were not impressed, for the price we paid we had expected a much better experience. I would not stay here again.
