Delicious mussels and so many different flavours to choose from! The Provonçale is really good and so is the Chilli with a kick as it should have. Great place to enjoy live jazz music. Quite small and intimate and a bit of squeeze but it only adds to the atmosphere.

What a terrible disappointment of an evening ruined. We travelled to Stockholm for a special birthday which included booking far in advance to visit the GM cafe. We phoned in advance to check our booking and arrived full of excitement. As we stepped in the door we felt immediately something was a bit odd as the restaurant appeared already completely full. The young woman who approached us gave a scowl and seemed to question if we had a booking. We confirmed we did and that’s when it really went downhill. Someone on the table next to us had arrived with 3 guests instead of 2 and had more or less taken not only one of our seats but the small gap between the two tables as well simply because they didn’t want to be facing away from band. We said - what are we supposed to do ? This was met with complete distain and shrugging from girl who said - what’s wrong with you , don’t you like people ? It’s cosy here !! ( so basically- you shouldn’t mind that someone is in your seat, you have not even room to move your elbows , and now one of you cannot see the band because you are squashed in corner) She could not have been less helpful and made us feel we were the problem. What they should have done is told the previous table they had 2 seats and not forced an extra person in. To suggest we were unfriendly is ridiculous. Cosy setting is one thing. Sitting touching the person next to you squashed like sardines in not enjoyable. Very reluctantly the one person moved and again this created a bad atmosphere. We then discovered dishes were not available on menu and now feeling very uncomfortable we left. In any other setting if you found a person in a seat you booked the staff would help move the person and apologise or find a way to help. Another colleague did apologise but as there was no manager we could do no more. What was intended as a fabulous evening to celebrate our birthday event was spoiled. GM cafe you need more than music to draw and keep customers - please retrain this young woman. She doesn’t understand the importance of customer service at all.

Our first visit and a great one. The ambience is intimate. The hosts are charming and gracious. Best of all was the music - Camilla Johnson vocal, Mattias Lindberg piano, Johan Tengholm bass, Jesper Kviberg drums.

Yelp
This place is like something out of a book. It's cool, nicely lit, intimate, hot and unique. All that was missing for the full look was the cloud of smoke in the air! It was jam packed here so we had to stand at the bar which was uncomfortably snug and the heat was insane but I imagine that if you came here with a reservation the atmosphere would be great. They have live music here most nights and you pay a small fee of 40k after each set. I have heard however that the place is closing in months time, end of June. So come here before you miss your chance, an while your at it try there chocolate cake! It's incredible! -1 star for the heat, really need air conditioning, or open a door.

Yelp
I moved to Stockholm last Saturday. By Wednesday night, I'd already found the best jazz venue in Stockholm. This place blew my socks off. Totally hidden in a very central part of Stockholm, the Glenn Miller Cafe is a total gem of a jazz establishment. I felt like I walked into an eastern European, jazz bar circa 1930. The venue is small and is a restaurant/bar. The ceilings are high, the decor is inspired, the owners are wonderful. I'm convinced it's the best venue in which to see a local jazz trio. And a great one at that. When I came on Wednesday, a local scando-jazz quartet completely inspired me with some amazing jazz. Very outside, extreme jazz. Mindblowing jazz. I was totally surprised by the level of music that was being played. Reminiscent of Ornette Coleman at the Golden Circle here in Stockholm 40 years ago It was crowded. We managed a table off to the side. So if you don't like small crowded places, reconsider. However, the crowd makes the place and adds to the energy. The beer and wine was flowing. The crowd was a local, loyal group of jazz enthusiasts of all ages. Everyone was into the music. The energy was awesome. Ohand no cover. Someone comes around with a donation basket and you're free to give as much as you want. Unreal. I will definitely be a regular here.

Yelp
I didn't love this place. I might give it another chance but not of my own motivation. The atmosphere is nice. Small, and intimate but with a relaxed dive sort of feel. But when I went it was just some "kids" (20ish) playing and for that they charge a 50r minimum "donation" for each set (which is about 15-20 minutes). It wasn't a great experience, really. I'm all for supporting starving artists and everything but knowing that I needed to ante up another 50kr every time they started playing kind of took the joy and mood out of it for me. Rather pay up front and relax then be constantly harassed for money and continuously evaluate whether staying is worth it. Yeah, come to think of it, I wouldn't return.

Yelp
Woohoo! Glenn Miller Café is a small cafe, but the food and the music is fabulous! Very cosy and intimate and with very helpful and fun waiters. A bit crowdy on a Saturday evening, so remember to book a table in advance, if possible. We had excellent Moules/Frites a la creme. Prices are OK for Stockholm. September 2015!
