Be sure to smell the aromas as much as taste the food. Never a bad meal and because everything is fresh, it is quite easy to accommodate dietary restriction within reason. Highly recommend. Honestly I can't imagine why Glenn's doesn't have even better reviews. My boyfriend and I have been going to Glenn's regularly since Merrimac Street. I am a foodie and admittedly prettyparticular - I have never been disappointed. This place is great! Delicious food, not too fancy. They change the menu up just enough to keep me interested. Great service and consistent. I've enjoyed some of my favorite meals at Glenn's. Mussels, Haddock, stuffed mushrooms to die for, unique and lovely salads. Great wings and the fish tacos are killer. No hesitation in giving Glenn's 5 stars. One of the best in Newburyport.

On a Saturday night, one waitress scheduled. It took her 10 minutes to let us know that our beers were out. A total of 25 before we actually got our beer . Not super impressed with any of the food we order except to say the blackened haddock was decent. When the bill finally arrived we were charged for a beer we had originally asked for but ended up not ordering because it was not in stock. When we mentioned it to the waitress she could have cared less. To speed things along they should have been utilizing the hostess that seemed to not have much to do except walk back and forth and occasionally mention to the waitress that she had food to pick up in the kitchen. Did I mention how lukewarm dinner was? Anyway. I haven't been to Glenn's since moving to the Tannery building and will definitely not be returning.

Excellent meal and nice service. We had Blackened Haddock with mashed sweet potatoes, onion rings, and a small crab cake. It was perfectly seasoned and quite enjoyable. Not a broad menu, perhaps a bit limited, but it was excellent.

My wife and I dine here many times per year. We find the variety in the ever changing menu to always provide several excellent options. Over time, we have gotten to know the staff that has stayed intact for the better part of 20 years. We find them to be hard working and conscientious about every seat that is filled and drink/plate delivered. The high top tables in the bar area provide a casual feel that we prefer. If you like a variety of flavors, fresh fish selected daily from the market in Boston, well cooked meals and healthy servings for a reasonable price in what i would describe as a casual, but pleasant environment, Glenn's is difficult to beat. Favorite meals include the blackened haddock, seared tuna, fish tacos and a seafood fra diavalo that Glenn will make even if not on the menu. We hit brine, poynt and brick and Ash as well. Glenn's remains our favorite.

This is The Place to go in Newburyport - IMHO. Yes, there is a Glenn, and yes, he is the chef. Daily specials. Farm to Table. Eclectic combinations resulting in surprisingly wonderful meals. Comfy cozy. Great bar. Warm wood atmosphere. After dinner, ask for the House Lemoncello. If you only have time for one restaurant, this is the one. Great staff, all locals. Loyal clientele. Make reservations.

Went there for dinner. No waiting on a Friday nite - was surprised. First thing we noticed was how dirty our table was (see photo)... the little plate on the table was also very dirty and there was a tiny little red spider running on the plate. Food was average - and like other Newburyport restaurants , it was greatly over priced. You’re paying for the location and not much more.

Service was not the best. There was a king wait after we were done. Our server clearly was overworked and this was not the first time I experienced this here. The oysters and mussels were very good, but the risotto was so covered in sauce it was like a soup and incredibly bland. I won't be going back.
