Yelp
After stopping by twice during our recent weekend getaway, I can easily say they're "A-OK". Why? Let's talk about it!
SPACE/ATMOSPHERE: It's divided up into several dinning areas. During our first visit, my husband and I were seated in the very back. Not a big deal, except there were two girls being very loud behind us. It made it difficult to enjoy our meal until they left. Our second visit, we were with a group of nine and seated in a more open part of the same dining area. It worked well for us. There's a variety of brewing related knick-knacks and artwork throughout the space. A few scattered tvs can be found throughout the space to ensure you can catch a sports game. Near the main bar, there are some medals won at various beer fests - cool!
BITES: During our first visit we ordered the Spicy Wisconsin Cheese Curds, Pub Tacos, and Roasted Chicken Enchiladas. We both really enjoyed the cheese curds, thought I wouldn't describe them as being terribly spicy. My husband wasn't impressed with his tacos. While they were piled high, they were a little lack luster. The enchiladas were delicious. So much so that my husband ordered them when we came back. On our second visit, I chose the chicken tortilla soup. It tasted like Progresso soup. The chicken was cubed, the broth was thick, and the flavor was just missing. So, I'd say, stick to the enchiladas and cheese curds if you venture here.
SIPS: We sipped on a variety of brews during our visits including: Hanging Lake Light Lager, Vapor Cave IPA, Grizzly Creek Raspberry Wheat, Barrel Rolls Oktoberfest, and a couple brews from their Project (a rotating hop series). All in all we enjoyed most of the brews. The Vapor Cave IPA was probably our least favorite, and even at that it def wasn't terrible. My husband enjoyed the Barrel Rolls Oktoberfest and I really liked both the Hanging Lake Light Lager and the Grizzly Creek Raspberry Wheat.
SERVICE: The service during both visits was def a little wonky. We had a different server take our order, bring our drinks, and drop our food during our first visit. The second time, our server must've been spread pretty thin. After we placed our drink order, I saw them sitting on the bar for easily 10 minutes, and some drinks were missing. I assumed we'd all be getting glasses of water, nope. We each had to request them. It just felt very choppy.
MERCH: Near the main bar there is a variety of merch available for purchase including glassware, beanies, shirts, and sweaters.
While it made for a decent spot for our larger group to get together; I think I'll check out some other places in Glenwood Springs before my husband and I make our way back here.
