"Luminous Lagoon Adventurous souls should planon a moonlit dipin the bioluminescent Glistening Waters, also known as Luminous Lagoon. Boats leave from amarina, located an hour north of Montego Bay,on scheduled night tours. As your tour boat speeds out into the dark of night, you'll spot fluorescent blue streaks inits wake—bioluminescence that's created when living microorganisms (in this case, dinoflagellates) are disturbed. You can jump in for a swim, too, and glow in the dark as you splash about. It's an amazing phenomenon to witness, and it's said to exist in onlyfive lagoons or bays in the world. Back at the marina, the Glistening Waters restaurantoffers beautiful views, as well as pre-cruise drinks and food."

We had to absolutely experience this once in a lifetime experience. It's hard to find to words to describe how amazing it was. Just amazing! We arrived with our vibrant and extremely well informed driver Smokey (his contact posted below) there was plenty of parking and the crowd wasn't as large as I thought so that was nice. We purchased tickets and then we're treated to a tasty rum punch. The wait to get in the boat was short. I was to afraid to get in the water as you cannot wear medical eyewear and there is absolutely no man made light when you are you on the tour. One brave person got in and it was a sight for sure! Don't hesitate to this tour even if you don't get in the water.

To the owner if you care, not all tourists are white. Black people need service too and will pay for that service plus tip. We were completely ignored, not offered a drink even after requesting for one. We were so hungry but they just kept serving every white person that came after us. We arrived at 5:05pm. Left at 09:18pm and in all that time, nothing even after requesting. I counted multiple tables of black people skipped and it was astonishing.

Jamaica’s bioluminescent lagoon is a true natural marvel, a rare gem that promises an unforgettable experience. As the water shimmers with an ethereal glow, it creates a mesmerizing spectacle that feels almost otherworldly. Whether you choose to simply admire its breathtaking beauty or take a magical swim in its glowing embrace, this is one adventure you won’t want to miss.

We book our wedding at Glistening Waters Hotel. Before the wedding ended, we were told we had 8 extra chairs. The staff approached my daughter and demanded $40,000 on the spot. I was busy getting married and staying over in their hotel for another day. My daughter called me over to speak with them and went to sit with her cousins. The lady left me and hurried over to my daughter in the middle of the dance floor, saying "where is she" i thought she was going to beat her up. I was shocked. We keep saying to sort it out in the morning but the owner came and said she is going to church so she want her money now. We even paid for extra time which was not needed as they were late with the dinner. This was the worst experience we ever had using a hotel in jamaica. My husband like the views at the back but we haven't read any reviews before going there. Unprofessional and abusive staff. The owner Rose Bernard came and was very Unprofessional. Refusing to wait till morning and determine to mash up the wedding. This is the worst place ever , I wonder why the hotel look so empty and isolated

I can only give good reviews to the housekeeping staff. They are the highlight of that hotel - friendly and professional. I stayed in room 209, and every day my room was cleaned, the bed was professionally tailored, and the floor was spotless when I returned. Thank you; it was all I needed to alleviate the stress of the hard days. I'm sorry I didn't get to reward them, but I want you all to know that you did more for me than just cleaning the room.

Tried to use their tour services to see the lake. Called in advance to make sure we made it on time and the person on the phone told us to be there at 6 pm. When we arrived, a person who seemed to be a supervisor asked us why we were there. A bit thrown off by such greeting, we said we wanted to do the tour. She pointed to the sky and said, “well, it’s not dark yet. I don’t know who told you to be here at 6. Come back in an hour”. We explained we were there upon the instruction of whoever picks up the phone for her business. She shrugged and started talking to someone else (not a costumer - the place was empty and now we understand why). A few friends who have gone to this place told us NOT to eat there as it takes forever and it’s not worth what they charge. I would not recommend this place to anybody who wants to be treated with a minimum of respect and courtesy.

The same person who showed us our room at the hotel was the same person who took our orders and served us at the restaurant. I got the feeling they were short staffed.
The hotel was a bit dated.

I was impressed with the upkeep of the building, inside and out. There was no signs of wear and tear as I have noticed in other hotels of this level. The restaurant was relaxing quite, presentable and organized. Food was very good. Low sodium is very important to my wife and I and none of the four meals we during the two days were high. I definitely would recommend this location.
