Glory

This is a must visit restaurant in the Johannesburg central suburbs. It's really something you have to experience for yourself to understand the reason that so many people are drawn to the Glory dining extravaganza. A laid back atmosphere, great service and a cosy, dark atmosphere is how I'd describe the ambience of Glory. I've been past it so many times but never actually realised it was a restaurant, that's how much of a hidden gem it is. The food is fine dining style and I recommend setting aside 2-3 hours to be able to enjoy the entire experience. The highlights were the prawn bao and grilled lamb skewer. The owner is friendly and took time to chat to all the guests. They're really focused on sourcing local ingredients that are sustainable. There are very limited seats available so I highly recommend booking in advance. Just be aware for winter that if you're seated towards the veranda it can be quite chilly and the restaurant entrance is completely open. Make sure to take a warm jacket with you.

I recently hosted my birthday at Glory at 44 Stanley and it was the most wonderful experience. The set up was gorgeous and the team was really flexible and accommodating, including with last minute food allergies and dietary needs. The food was delicious and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Highly recommend.

I visited the pop up version of this spot at 44 Stanley and I've been telling everyone about their Aubergine salad... It's amazing! Just tell them not to overdo it over the coals 😅 the mushroom satay too is 👌🏾 Love atmosphere at 44 Stanley, near the bioscope.

A sensational home dining experience. Mindblowing flavors, exceptional service - beats Michelin starred dining any day….and in the comfort of your own home. Blown away. By far the best dining experience in Joburg.

Beautifully curated menu with some delicious and interesting flavours. You can tell that the chef has mastered the dishes on the set menu. Loved the ambiance and intimate setting. They also cater for special dietary requirements you may have. Make sure to book in advance because the venue is quite small. Highly recommend! We will be back for the new menu.

I ordered two of their takeaway boxes (for 8 people) and I was absolutely blown away by the taste, quantity and attention to detail of every item in those boxes. I cannot recommend them enough and will definitely order again.
