I’ve been here twice before and the food was really good — we absolutely loved it, which is why I confidently suggested this place again.
This time, I brought my friends and my sister who had just arrived the day before. I wanted to treat them for a Valentine’s Day brunch since they love matcha, especially Glou Glou was using Nomu Matcha Brand.
Unfortunately, this visit was a big disappointment.
The matcha tasted different — it was much milkier than usual and lacked that strong, proper matcha flavour we were expecting, especially knowing they use Nomu matcha. It just didn’t taste the same as before.
The service was also disappointing. My friend ordered before me while I was still deciding, but my food arrived first. Even worse, we had almost finished eating when my sister’s food still hadn’t arrived. When we asked the server, she checked the system, and it was quite clear the order hadn’t been properly put through. They said it was a “miscommunication” and apologised, but it felt like the order was only sent after we followed up.
It was honestly embarrassing and awkward, especially since I was the one who recommended the place to my friends and sister.
I’ve had good experiences here before, which makes this visit even more disappointing.
