The Ultimate List of Wonderfully Specific Museums

"Lawn gnomes are a classic symbol of kitschy yard decorations, but most people are content to have just one of the little creatures posted up in their yards. Australia’s Gnomesville, a collection of thousands of the weird little statuettes set up on a roundabout is whole different beast entirely. The community of silent dwarves actually began as a whimsical protest some 20 years ago. As the Gnomesville website explains, a small bit of land in Ferguson Valley was annexed by the local government to create a roundabout. Despite an outcry from the nearby residents, the roundabout was installed, and tensions simmered. Then at some point, a gnome appeared. at first there as just one in a tree hollow, but after a few months, there were around 20. The collection continued to grow as visitors and locals alike came and dropped off their own little statues. In the decades since their first appearance the army of gnomes had exploded into the thousands. For a time, theft and vandalism stunted the growth of the little population, but today the site is fairly well respected and continues to grow as people bring their own gnomes to add to the community. There are so many gnomes now in Gnomesville, that in some spots they are even grouped up into little neighborhoods, where gnomes of the same color or attitude are placed together. Visit Gnomesville, but be sure to bring a new resident." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

6 underrated experiences you need to try in and around Perth - SilverKris

"A whimsical roadside attraction that began with a single garden gnome and has grown into a cheeky collection of thousands; visitors are invited to add their own gnome (or purchase one locally), snap photos for social media and then explore the surrounding bucolic valley’s family-owned wineries, craft breweries and restaurants." - Vanessa Tai

A Whimsical Wonderland You Have to See to Believe! Gnomesville is not just an attraction; it's a magical, community-built experience. What started as a few gnomes has exploded into a breathtaking, hilarious, and heartwarming village of thousands. Everywhere you look, from tree branches to tiny handmade houses, there’s a delightful surprise. It’s completely free, but bring a gnome to add to the collection—it’s the perfect way to leave your mark. The creativity on display is astounding, with gnomes celebrating everything from pop culture and sports to local in-jokes and heartfelt memorials. Perfect for families, photographers, or anyone young at heart.

For a moment, you thought that you are Gulliver in the " Gulliver Travel". There are so many Gnomes. There big ones, small ones and all other forms. You probably need about 30 min to an hour as the area is not big. If you are coming from Perth, it will takes about 2 hours and about 1 hour 30 mins from Margaret River.

Great place to visit for all ages, its beautiful location is surrounded by farms and forests so a lovely drive to get there. When you see Gnomesville you will feel like you have been transported into a fairy tale. So many gnomes all around, little paths leading off to more gnomes and you will spend a lot longer there than you imagined. Definitely worth a visit and take your own gnome to add the the collection

We visited on a public holiday recently and there were a few other people walking around, taking pictures etc. We noticed a quite a few broken gnomes unfortunately. I think it would look better if it was tidied up a little bit but over all, a nice place to stop for a break before heading home.

Such a unique little place hidden amongst the trees in the middle of Fergusson Valley. Wander the trails and spot the weird and wonderful gnomes in their natural habitat. Bring one along marked with name and anniversary or special date to leave behind. Its fun to re visit and find your gnome again!

First we were aware of it was as we drove past and said "What the". The kids would love it, particularly the youngens. We thought it was pretty good as well. A small parking area, but not a lot of room if you have a van. It does meander for a good 300+m, so take your time. Bring a gnome and find a home. There would be 10 000 + gnomes in various poses and groups. Plenty of space for wheelchairs, and there are toilets as well.

A beautiful forest with many garden gnomes to discover, especially for children. Large parking area, also suitable for caravans and motorhomes. Picnic area and restrooms available.
