Go Ride A Wave - Torquay

Was very happy with my experience at this shop in Torquay :) was able to rent a board and wetsuit at a very good price and the 2 employees who helped me were incredibly warm. Would highly recommend this shop 🌊🏄🏻‍♂️

My two sons(15 and 13 yrs old) completed 2 hrs lesson last week and it was their first time to experience surfing. Our reservation was on Sunday originally, but the class management decided to cancel class due to hot weather and crazy crowd beach for safety concern, so we rescheduled to next day lesson. I think it was very correct decision because the beach was almost empty on Monday so instructors could focus on each student more easily and safely. Before lesson I thought language may be the problem for kids to understand instruction, and it seems I worried too much because after lesson, kids were so happy saying surfing is so fun, and two instructors were very patient and explained to them clearly, and also assisted them to stand up on board successfully! Thanks Go Ride a Wave wonderful team!

In summary, absolute fantastic experience. Sarah got us prepped and ready for our lesson. The guidance didn't stop on the beach. She was in the water, helping us "get waves". Her continual guidance got me standing up, more times than I thought. Her enthusiasm and attention to detail was exemplary. Thoroughly enjoyable few hours, which I will add to on our holiday on the Surf Coast. Many thanks to all from Go Ride A Wave.

Could not have had a more positive experience. I came solo so was a bit nervous but the people could not have been more lovely. The person in the store was welcoming and the two instructors were incredibly kind and supportive. The instructors made sure to spend one on one time with every person in the group and were so encouraging to help everyone get up on a wave. We spent so much time in the water and I will definitely be back!

A huge shoutout to Nathan, Nick, and Oli for making our first surfing experience such a blast! We were total beginners, but the team was incredibly welcoming, professional, and made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The session was packed with laughs, good vibes, and plenty of wipeouts — all part of the fun! It ended up being way more enjoyable than we ever expected, and it was an awesome activity for the whole family. I had a 1-2-1 session here. Everything from booking the session, to arrival to having the session was amazing! I was super nervous to surf, but The care, encouragement and attention to what I needed was to a next level! I had a great session and made me want to surf more! My daughter and I both loved the lessons that we had. Every staff member and instructor were so nice and very knowledgeable. They easily adapt to different people to help us get and surf. Absolute legends.
