7 temples to visit for a different side of Bali - SilverKris

"Built beside a cliff with a cavernous interior, this temple is famed for the colony of bats that roost in its cave, which can be seen flying from many vantage points on the grounds. Local belief holds that a serpent deity, Naga Basuki, resides in the cave and feeds on the bats, and there is a folkloric tale that a subterranean passage links the cave to the major temple some 19 kilometres away." - SilverKris

A beautiful and peaceful temple, definitely worth visiting. The highlight is the cave—you can clearly see the bats hanging at the entrance from the outside, which makes it quite unique. The temple is very active, with numerous ceremonies and prayers taking place throughout the day, offering a fascinating glimpse into local spirituality. At the entrance, they provide you with a sarong so you can enter respectfully, and they also place a flower necklace around your neck, which they kindly suggest you buy as a donation when you leave. It’s a culturally rich and meaningful experience.

Beautiful temple. The people outside are very friendly and happy to help you with buying tickets, providing suitable clothing, and answering any questions you might have.

Beautiful temple, quiet and peaceful. I stopped there on the way to north Bali. Can be very busy when there is a ceremony. There is a fee on the entrance.

We really loved this temple! The batcave was really special and something we never saw before. It was quiet and not overflown with tourists. The only thing we didn’t quite like were the people around the temple trying to sell things. They were quite disrespectful and kept pushing people to buy overpriced stuff.

30.000 IDR with a sharong that you can keep included with the price, or 25k if you have yours. Nice temple, relaxing place if not for "guides" inside that want you to go with them, tell you 2 things and get some money from you.

The temple itself was cool to visit, watching the bats was certainly an experience. The vendors outside, however, are a different level. You can leave without buying, but they'll swarm you until way into the parking lot, so be prepared.
