Buyer beware! Goal Zero does not stand behind their products. I have a Lighthouse 400 lantern that randomly turned on and won't turn off. I now know that it has been a known issue for years and Goal Zero not only hasn't fixed the underlying issue, but they won't replace my faulty unit. I was a big fan of Goal Zero and have power banks, solar panels, and 4 Lighthouse 400's, but no longer. After multiple back-and-forth's with customer service, all they would offer is a discount code - as if I'm going to buy more products from a company that doesn't fix known issues or stand behind their products.

I am so let down with their products. I bought a portable power bank to bring into the backcountry so that I could charge my phone in an emergency. I brought the power bank with me less than 6 times and actually used it to charge my phone less than a dozen times over the course of 2.5 years. When the power bank randomly stopped charging, I contacted Goal Zero's customer service team via email. It took me 2 weeks to get a response that told me to try restarting the unit and using different cords to charge it, even though I only ever used their provided cords. When I responded within the hour, it took me another 2 weeks to receive a response telling me to provide proof of purchase which was within the warranty period they list on their website. After 3 weeks of not getting a response I finally call their Customer Support number and wait on hold 15 minutes just to be told its out of warranty and there's nothing they can do beyond a discount for a new power bank. Why the hell would I spend a few hundred dollars extra on a product that I have already seen fail, for no apparent reason, and then be left high and dry when it stops working? You can seriously buy cheaper, smaller, more powerful charging units from just about any other company out there. Huge FAIL on Goal Zero's behalf and I will never again recommend their products to anyone else.

I am not sure if this happened when Biolite purchased Goal Zero, but the customer support is atrocious. I had a yeti generator stop working. It took a week for them to initially respond to my email, and once I sent over the proof of purchase for a warranty exchange communication has gone silent. I used to recommend Goal Zero all the time, but I am going with other brands now. It’s sad to see a company fall apart like this.

So this is an updated review. I previously gave them a 1 star review for not responding to me for about 2 months for some damaged products showing up and also shipping me the wrong item. In the past week a very kind lady apologized and let me keep the extra product they shipped me since it took so long to hear a response as well as shipping me another replacement product for the one that was damaged and let me keep both. I haven’t had the need to use my products yet (as I bought them for emergency home back up power) but I feel it’s justified to give them a higher review now that they’re customer service has picked up the slack that has been in place.

Bought new van outfitted with Yeti 4000 Pro and it sucks. Constant errors and now completely dead. Tried calling customer service and never an answer. Tried emailing them and no replies. I was told by van builder they were bought by another company. Now I have a $4000 dollar anchor! Beware of buying Goal Zero products! Would leave zero stars but that is not an option.

I bought the Goal Zero Yeti 1400 (non-Bluetooth) in 2019, expecting premium performance and long-term reliability. It worked well for a few months, then started showing erratic behavior: powering off unexpectedly, refusing to charge, buttons unresponsive, and the display randomly going dark. Sometimes it would miraculously come back to life for a short while, only to shut down again — completely unreliable. Recently I tried to get help from Goal Zero support. I followed their initial battery reset instructions and replied with detailed information and a video showing the issue. After that? Complete silence. No further replies, despite three polite follow-up emails over the course of a month. This is an expensive product, and I expected more — both from the hardware and from the company behind it. Instead, I’m left with a €1400 paperweight and the worst customer service I’ve experienced in years. No repair offer, no diagnosis, not even a “we’re sorry.” It’s a real shame. I chose Goal Zero for its reputation — but now I can only say: unreliable product, non-existent support. Avoid.

I’ve had my yeti 1500 about 1.5-3 years. I used it successfully 5-8 times. I went to take it camping today and it’s completely dead and will not function. I did read and follow the manual exactly as stated in all conditions including storing it. Over $2000 later this brand is a hunk of junk. I may try to call them to see if it’s still under warranty, but super disappointed. Had this been an emergency use or even thinking to use this type of generator for any form of emergency is not practical. Don’t buy anything goal zero if you want it to last more than a few years!!! You’ve been warned!!!

My 3000x broke (12 v red light persists) inside of one year. Goal Zero responded to me one time (after their partner, an overland shop in CO contacted them) and said a new unit was on the way. That was weeks ago and they have since stopped responding to me or their partner overland shop in CO. I am filing a claim in small claims court w/Draper UT.
